Two obsolete Russian Germanium transistors a box of fun do make. The Death By Audio crew think so anyway - and I agree. Two big knobs on the Germanium Filter control the frequency sweep and gain amount. That's all you need. The rest is up to you. Explore. Terrify. Charm. A bit like life, really.

This is like a maximum fuzz machine, adjustable, nicely presented Brett!
Thanks, Michael. Good fun for me. I love the DBA stuff.
Very good! And I'm glad to see my favourite Soviet germanium transisrors. I began to learn electronics using МП39Б.
That looks like a lot of fun Brett!
Your presenter skills lately have been ace, mate! Cheers!
really killer glassy clean tones when you back your guitar volume off. nice pedal.
Amazing demo, loving the clean tones coming from it actually. Was wondering how it behaves with a buffer? Before or after?
thought you were going for "sleep now in the fire" on that intro riff!! into a jm45 or 1987x model that would probably pretty well nail it
always a pleasure to hear you jam on gritty fuzzes, Brett. cheers :D
Finally! This pedal is exactly what I have been waiting for. I am always swapping fuzz and hard driving ODs on and off my board. This is sounding like the fix I need. I have the same amp you are using for the demo...and too many others;) Glad your hand is all better. Best to your lovely wife. How's the garden? Loved that video.
5:46 - "This guy doesn't care! It's fine! Because it's Russian I suppose." - Quote of the day, delivered beautifully. I'm still laughing. 😂😂
I'm sure there are many classic tones in that box but one I definitely hear is Keef's 'Satisfaction'. As a live tool the Germanium Filter is useful but in the studio where a well placed 'bad' tone can really make a song stand out {'Satisfaction' being a great example) I think it would be invaluable.
Death By Audio... 🤔
Sounds Ominus..
Cheers 🍻
I always enjoy your videos
I call this ‘sticky tone’. Like you’re tearing the notes apart from each other when you solo.
They _do_ know how to pique my curiosity with the goddamn marketing speak 😂 "specially matched obsolete Soviet transistors" 💵
Look out.amazing sound.proper demo☆☆☆☆☆
Someone is having fun 😄
Sounds killer. Would love to hear it running into a cranked A class
I am looking forward/for your review of the Rooms delay/reverb by Old Blood 🩸
👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Brett, but that's way to gainy for little old me.
Hi Brett. This is a long shot as I know it's an old video, but I've just watched your Lollar jag pickup demo and was hoping you'd be able to tell me the pot values of the guitar you used?
Hey Brett, random question. On the topic of the charvel hss sassafras guitar you reviewed, is there a big volume jump or loss when switching from the hum bucker to single coils?
Crap. Now I want :(
Holy crap it's expensive! I'm going over to Blammo! Electronics for way better value and honesty.
What pedal do they make that's comparable?
Problem with these type of pedals is: Purchase a nice $2000 guitar, a $2500 valve amp, use one of these pedals to make it all sound like a $79 guitar and amp package from Walmart, I don't get it?
Strictly imho but that sound has its place. This is the kind of pedal I'd like to have in my chain for maybe two or three songs where that 'cheap' tone is appropriate. Nice to have it by choice and with the benefits that high quality gear brings with it.
You're correct: you don't get it
