Aviation Pro, Remeber your old VATSIM ATC videos? Yea. Those helped me out a bunch and shed some light on the ATC world. I am now 100% comfortable doing ATC. Thanks!
Hello. I also would like to use two headsets with microphones on my PC at the same time, so that I can communicate with my buddy, who is sitting next to me in my home cockpit, while we fly Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on the PC. I have a headset with a 3,5mm jack and one with USB. That's why I installed the Voicemeeter program. Actually it works, but unfortunately there are a few problems!! - Every time I start Voicemeeter I get a message saying that I am using bad audio drivers. How can this be? I have installed the latest version, it should have the best drivers included??? - If I open Voicemeeter before starting the sim, the simulator doesn't start. The simulator starts normally after clicking on it, but the loading process always stops after about 15 seconds loading time and then it stays black forever, right before the Asobo logo shows up... If I haven't started Voicemeeter before, starting the sim, the simulator loads normally!!! How can it be that the Voicemeeter is preventing the flight simulator from loading? That's a shame, now I can't use Voicemeeter and have to uninstall it and try it with another virtual mixer... Do you have any idea what that could be? - And can i switch off in Voicemeeter or Windows 10 so that i don't hear my own voice in my own headphones when i speak into the microphone? It's so loud and minimally delayed, it sounds unpleasant! I only want to hear the voice of my budy next to me and the sounds of the simulator... 🙂 Thanks!
Great Video! I have done the voicemeter part but now I am stuck with the joystick to keyboard mapping... could you please do a short video about how to configure the joystick mappings with FSUIPC 7 (Free version) too? is it capable of doping that mapping?
Nowadays I use something that's way easier. It's a simple free program called JoyToKey, with it you can easily assign keyboard commands to joystick buttons. Just make sure you run it in the background as administrator and it will work as well :)
Hmm you would need some external filter program, but you can also adjust some of the values in Voicemeeter itself! Like the compressor, audio gate and equalizer. Maybe you can play around a bit with those to make it all sound more pilot-y ;)
great video, however i got lost when it comes to set up the pilot and copilot mic. i can see in your video when you have set ctrl l and ctrl r key for pilot and f/o transmission push button, can that be done using the push button on the yoke control, i use X-plane 11, and the vatsim push button is set on the yoke control, are the procedures still the same with what you have done? Please help
Hey Pro! Great video!! I just had a quick question. I’m using two Turtle Beach Recon 70 headphones with mics for the program, but it only recognizes one of the mics. When I go to select the mic for input 2, then it just moves it from input 1. If there’s anything you know that can help with this I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks!! Keep up the great work!!
@@AviationPro Oh man. That’s a shame. Do you think it would work with a splitter that has a usb type A on the end? Meaning that both headphones go into that, or do they have to be separate?
Hi Pro thank you so much for the great tutorial. I am having an issues with the Vatsim output. I dont have any …Wave voicemeeter output option in vatsim. I setup both headsets so i can hear vatsim controler and pilot, i can talk to my f/o and he can either talk to me. the only issues is i am not able to transmit on Vatsim. Does i mist something? thank you
It's been a while since this tutorial was made, so there could have been some changes in the mean time. But when you install Voicemeeter there should be a bunch of new inputs and outputs in any program that you use your microphone and speakers in. In my vPilot list I see several Voicemeeter inputs and outputs. Maybe try to reinstall Voicemeeter, and also make sure that you run everything as administrator and restart the PC after installation.
Oh God bless you! I literally wanted to fly with multi-crew. Only one question, Do we connect with each other wireless in our homes via the internet or is there something else? Thanks.
is it possible to have the sound muted or turned off when no one is talking. then turns back on when someone talks (voice activation) like the real intercom.
Yes, just increase the noise gate for each microphone, it's the little dial above the A1s. This way your voice needs to produce a certain volume before the microphone is activated, which is more realisitc. I have mine set at around 3.
Hiya do you know how to use Voicemeeter to split the Radio Comms + Mic speak to headset with Mic & All other sounds left on main speakers ? Very confused ! not sure if this is possible !
You just select a different output and input device in your pilot client (like vPilot). So instead of selecting your speakers, you select your headset's speakers.
Yep they are both USB, which is required I think because they technically have their own soundcard. All engine and other sim sounds indeed run through external speakers, not via the headsets.
I'm looking for a new build for P3D v4. Will an I3 8100, 8 gb RAM and a GTX1060 6 gb succeed for full HD flying? I don't want all the settings on high, probably medium, and of course a smooth framerate
AviationPro Well, when new motherboards come out, I'll definitely look for an I5. Also, when the prices of the gpu's are going to drop, I think I have a little more to spend. Thnx btw
For the macros, you could also use "strip(X).B1=0/1" to disable the output to the virtual output. So you can still hear the other person but not ATC.
Great tip! I'll pin your comment
In 2023, this is still very usefull information!
Thanks for watching!
Im doing a driving rig, thank you for this video.
I needed this to talk to someone in VR

Haha, yeah definitely remember them, lot of time went into those as well. Glad you liked them! :)
I was actually searching for a program like that!!!That video helped me thank you very much!!!
You’re welcome!
I’ve wanted to know how to do this for ages. Thank you
You're welcome! :)
How can I do the fsuipc part with x plane???
Very nice… But I’m lost in the macros…. I don’t understand which buttons do what, and when…. I’m lost…. ☹️
Hey Pro! Nice vid as always.
Thank you! :)
Helpful as always

This could be a good alternative to these hardeware solutions of intercoms that are used in homecockpits.
It definitely is! Only problem is that there's a slight delay, but given it's a free method it's pretty nice :)

That's weird, I'm not sure why that is, are they USB headsets? It should work if they show up as separate mics in the Windows sound settings
@@AviationPro No, they are two 3.5mm jack headsets. I’m using a Y splitter cable

Could you make a Tutorial about Transatlantic procedures on vatsim?

Instead you must have a good mic to make the output sounds seems realistic, but anyway thats a great info thanks a lot.

Oh God bless you! I literally wanted to fly with multi-crew. Only one question, Do we connect with each other wireless in our homes via the internet or is there something else? Thanks.
Ehm no, this for when you actually sitting next to each other, not for shared cockpit via the internet.
Oh, thanks, Sir! (Happy with quick reply)
Hi Good tutorial, I'm using the audio from my PC. how do you attach 2 headsets to the same PC/
Thanks! By using USB headsets, they come with their own sound card.
an alternative solution: add a powered USB hub to your PC; if you have 3.5mm jacks on your headsets, a $7-$10 USB adapter will bring you up to speed.

Yep they are both USB, which is required I think because they technically have their own soundcard. All engine and other sim sounds indeed run through external speakers, not via the headsets.
So, I need 3 sound cards? One for each headset and one for environmental noises (engines)?

How do you have two people flying the same plane on the same computer? How does that work?
Eeeehm... Well, you basically have your friend sitting next to you, in real life, yes that is still possible in these internet days.
do you need USB headsets for this? or will it work with any headset
USB headsets are better because they are easily recognized as separate devices
I use fsx steam looking for some good pay ware 757 any tips
