"How has Charlie not been redeemed up until this point?"
Because she's not a human soul. She's Lucifer's daughter, born in Hell. There's nothing to redeem. She never had a life on earth. I think they describe her as "Hellspawn" at one point and say that Lucifer declared Hellspawn off limits in the exterminations.
Up until Adam and Lute came along and broke the oath in the finale.
Then all bets were off.

Lilith is a part of Jewish folklore, she was said to be Adam's first wife but Lilith was made the same way Adam was so she wanted to be treated equally and refused to obey Adam, this was seen as bad behavior for a wife back then so she was cast out and punished. Eve was then made from Adam's rib as a means of ensuring some sort of power hierarchy since she was made from him. It's not a widely known folktale but it is interesting.

That's interesting -- I didn't realize she was mentioned in that book.
The story of Lilith as we know it today is relatively new. There is a reference to "her" in the Bible, but it's unclear what exactly is being referenced: an ominous animal or a type of bad spirit.
We learn about her mostly through medieval rabbinic writings (I'm blanking on the exact source at the moment), where it is explained that she was the woman created in the first description of creation in Genesis (where humanity is created from the earth) and because she was the man's equal, she refused to be on the bottom during sexual congress (she wanted to be on top, which is traditionally incredibly deviant behavior, going against all social norms). She left the Garden and even angels couldn't convince her to return.
Out of spite and jealousy, she causes issues during pregnancies and births, though talismans with the names of the angels who spoke with her can protect pregnant women and newborns to a certain extent.
In at least one tradition, she's also the demon that torments lone men at night -- every seminal emission impregnates her and she gives birth to demons.
@@MM-jf1me it's brief but they do say her name and that she was Adam's first wife. They said that she was "one of the jinn", don't know if that was a popular reading at the time or C.S. Lewis's personal theory though, either way I know it was probably written with a limited understanding of what a Jinn actually is.

I would pay anything to see footage of Alex doing his "Guitar solo, f*** yeah!" bit in "Hell is Forever." I just know he had the time of his life doing that.

Just in case no one has told you or you didn't know, Alex Brightman also plays Sir Pentious.
They pulled the meanest stunt on us. They released a lyric video of Poison a few days before they dropped eps 1-4. Amd we ate that shit up. The song goes hard and is incredible. Super popular. We all knew basically what it was about... but we had no idea we were about to witness Angel being raped, completely against his will, suffering an entire night of repeated trauma. We all felt extremely guilty for liking that song. Beautiful play to really get us into the emotional feeling of the whole thing. The cast had a party just before the release and they all git up and sang their songs to a piano only. Watching him sing this live is incredible. All of them are, but he goes DEEP into character for it. And the pain at the end cuts.
note that toward the end, when they show the rebuilt Hotel, you can see the shape of Sir Pentious's hat (and KeKe, who loved sitting on his lap) capping it all.😭
(Also, Angel Dust's twin sister Molly gets a brief cameo in heaven as well!)
Gotta remember Lucifer was on of the original Seraphim. He has more power even than Sera and he is vastly more powerful than Adam. He could literally end Adam and was just about to. The only reason he got involved was because Adam broke the deal that no hellborn be hurt. Charlie is hellborn. AND his daughter.
About Angel Dust: "So is he like 6'5? 6'6?"
No, CHARLIE is 6'5. Angel is a whole *eight feet tall*, if I remember correctly. It's crazy how tall these characters get--
According to Bible lore, Adam and Lilith were created at the same time. Lilith rebeled against the role she was placed in as subservient to Adam, so she was replaced by Eve, who was created from Adam's rib.
I also find it ironic that in episode 1, Adam is eating ribs

Alastor really took one look at Lucifer (who happens to be way more powerful than him) and decided to tell him "Your daughter calls me daddy too." Man just has no fear 😂
Less that he has no fear and more that he is extremely cunning and good at reading people for their insecurities which he can play against them for his benefit. And he is patient.
He knows full well his power is useless. Usually he introduces himself with a tiny show of his power to intimidate people. But not gonna work here. So he goes for sewing doubt and work on Lucifer's existing fear of losing his daughter and not being a good dad. And it's kinda working a bit. Until More Than Anything when they each really reaffirm their father daughter relationship, respect for each other and hope to build that relationship further.
I like the idea that Alastor is that fearless, but I like the idea that Alastor is needling Lucifer with his insecurities while also planting the idea to Charlie that he sees her as a daughter, and nothing else. Shippers weep
I find it funny how Vox couldn't care less about Val's issues with Angel just as Val and Velvette don't give a rat's ass about Vox's issue with Alastor 😂
To think this started off as an independent pilot in UA-cam that eventually got its own show in Prime Video. So happy for Viv and her team.

Val is probably one of the most heinous evil characters ever written. And episode 4 is an insanely brutal and painful look at sexual abuse. Jordan pours so much emotion into Angel's voice. You can hear him fighting tears with every ounce of strength he has. He wears a mask to hide the insane trauma and pain from his life. And Charlie got a tiny glimpse under that mask. He really does care for her and appreciate the chance she offers. But at the same time he sold his soul to Valentino and he can't just get out of that. Charlie maybe could dissolve it when she actually accepts her real power. Lucifer could likely do it.
Regardless... Angel is one of the most well written characters I've ever seen. Slowly peeling back the bravado until we see the reason for it, and then getting to see Angel return to being Anthony. His genuine efforts and his obvious fear of not being worthy and what Val will do to him.
Charlie isnt in hell cause she was a sinner, she is because she’s daughter of lucifer, she cannot be redeemed cause there’s no redempion to do

I can't help but wonder, since Sir Pentious ascended to heaven due to his redemption, if Adam will end up being reborn as a sinner/demon who's stuck in hell due to how bloodthirsty he was when it came to the exterminations, and also since the court in heaven knows about it now. It also would be interesting to see, I think. For Adam, being trapped in the one place he was so eager to slaughter within annually, is probably a fate even worse than death. I'm also curious to see how Pentious will fare in heaven, he's my favorite character. I can see him bonding with Emily pretty easily since she's so similar to Charlie.

Then Addict is an amazing EDM song/with video by Vivziepop herself that has Cherribomb and Angel Dust (and has seconds of glimpses of storylines for both of them- more so angel). Zestial is an overlord - one of the oldest ones in hell who wasn't killed by Alastor. Not much is known about him apart from the fact that a lot of the ordinary citizens of hell were running away from him in fear.

Remember that the character designs are based off of the more biblical descriptions for demons and angels from Goetician lore and the Key of Solomon; many angelic beings were described as having many eyes, and one was an eye surrounded by a flaming wheel, if I remember correctly.

So my theory is that it's Lilith that's holding Alistor's contract. It's no coincidence that they were BOTH gone for 7 years and Alistor just happens to show up in the pilot just minutes after Charlie left a message for her mom. I think she sent him to help. And tangent theory, I think Alistor's whole "competition" with Lucifer in the Hell's Greatest Dad song was a deliberate attempt to get Lucifer to step up on the role he'd been neglecting. Probably not because Alistor actually cares, but might have been part of the job Lilith sent him to do. Betting the favor he calls in from Charlie is going to be to convince her mom to end his contract. Whether or not that'll fuck everyone at the Hotel over remains to be seen. Psychopath that he is, he does seem to be forming some attachment to the Hotel. I think he'll stab them in the back and some point and actually regret it.

Everyone loves Angel because of his drugs and sexuality but he’s actually a very nice person very loving and kind and actually very much cares about his friends before himself which is amazing about him!!❤❤ The song poison is very powerful because the emotion it gives, the whole episode four is sad and has lots of information about Angel. At the end of the song poison he says how much he suffers. And when Angel was talking to Husky at the bar after the song he’s actually hiding his feelings by his acting skills.

favorite character is Husk. Dude is like a cat version of gambit who was my favorite xmen back in the day. He don't take no shit and will throw it right back at you at times and is there for Angel Dust when he needed it. granted unwillingly at first, but he nutted up when he needed to.

Favorite moment is when Charlie and Emily sang together in You Didn't Know.
