seems Charlie is trying to make what we see as Purgatory, which seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle in Hazbin's cosmology; maybe that's her role, long-term.
Yay! Biblical lore time! I never suspected how useful that catholic high school was going to be… God created Adam and Lilith from the earth as equals. But they kept fighting and Adam complained to God that Lilith would not obey him. So naturally, God banished her from the garden and created Eve from Adam’s rib, so she would always be subservient to him. When Lilith decided to leave Eden entirely, God got angry for some reason and sent a group of angels out to bring her back. It is not stated whether Lucifer was one of them, but Lucifer was an angel; his name means morning star. But when the angels got there, before bringing her back, they decided to, well, let’s say partake in some non-consensual love making. This resulted in an absurd number of demons spawning, which is why Lilith is known as the mother of demons. And also a feminist icon for never submitting to Adam… Lucifer is basically the embodiment of pride. He thought he knew what was best for humanity better than God, so he started a rebellion against God, and lost. He was cast away as the first fallen angel. Satan is not the devil - he is actually a general in hell’s army; the devil is Lucifer. It’s also important to note that the devil is referred to in the original text as the adversary. Lucifer is not evil, he doesn’t torture anything (the torture is the separation from God), and in fact he “tempts” people to sin because he thinks that what’s best for humans is whatever makes them happy, which often clashes with what God believes is best. And it’s the bible, so spoiler alert: God is always right. That’s why we see in Job, God and the adversary are talking about how faithful and devoted Job is to God. The adversary says Job is only like that because God has given him a wonderful life - if that were to end, Job would turn against God. God disagrees and proceeds to take everything away from Job - his wife and kids, his wealth, his possessions, and eventually even his health, which also gets him shunned by society. But he never stops being loyal, so God is right again, he gives Job a new wife, new kids, etc and Job apparently lives happily ever after. So God doesn’t even dislike Lucifer, much less view him as an enemy. He is only God’s adversary. But as God’s adversary, he often causes humans to be unworthy of eternity with him, and so they stay in hell with Lucifer. The bible compares it to “fire and brimstone” because in the town Jesus was speaking in, they actually HAD a fire and brimstone patch just outside the town. I think there was a plague or something? But it was where bodies were thrown out and those suspected of having a dangerous disease were exiled there. Jesus said that because those in hell are so far from God, it is a form of torture, like living among the fire and brimstone. It was a metaphor - Lucifer does not literally torture people and hell is not actually fire and brimstone; it’s just that being so far from God is aparently absolute agony.
Ummm, no? To everything but the last two paragraphs. Lilith is a mythological figure in Jewish myth, not mentioned in the creation story in Genesis (in Bible/Torah) Lilith is mentioned in Isaiah 34:14 but that comes from a word that means/translates to night demon/monster/terror. She’s definitely an interesting figure and there’s a lot of debates about sacred and non sacred texts regarding religion. I love reading about her and her possible origins (I’ve seen Sumeria is a big possibility), but no she’s not in the creation story. I have noticed her more referenced in a lot of modern media (such as Hazbin and Diablo) but it is important to remember that Hazbin is a thing of art and not exactly accurate to the Bible so I really hope people, non-Christians especially, don’t see this and take it for face value, but I doubt people are anyway.
@@SaltyPecan No, she was in the original genesis story. Originally, the bible was made from a bunch of different manuscripts written at different times throughout history. However when people decided to create one "official" version, a bunch of manuscripts that were originally included in the bible got cut - Lilith was one of those manuscripts that got cut out. But she definitely was originally included in Genesis. But yes - she got popular in media fairly recently as a figurehead for feminism because of her refusal to be obedient to Adam. I find this very strange, because she was never told she had to be subservient and when God decided to address the constant disagreement, he literally chose to create an entire new woman (Eve) and have Lilith leave Eden rather than tell her to obey Adam. So Lilith is clearly different from all other human women on a fundamental level and nothing she did was actually any incident of standing up to "the man" because he was never given authority over her to begin with so... Kind of a weak example of feminism if you ask me. But apparently pop culture disagrees. So that is what she has turned into in modern media.
@@regrettispaghetti2517 As for Lilith, she is no longer in modern versions of the bible. The bible was a collection of a bunch of old manuscripts and Lilith was included in those original manuscripts. But there was no one official version that was consistent everywhere - different versions included different manuscripts. When the first official version of the bible was made, the one that was meant to be a more consistent version to be used across all branches of the religion, the Lilith manuscript was one of the manuscripts that was not kept. So I guess you could say that although it was part of the original lore, it's no longer officially canon. I learned about this manuscript first in a bible study class I took in high school and I got more elaboration in a philosophy of religion class I took in college. As someone above mentioned, Lilith does seem to have one reference in the modern bible, but it seems it is likely a translation error and most modern translations use the term "screech owl" instead. The original genesis-placed story of Lilith came from a manuscript written somewhere between 300 AD and 600 AD. The manuscript involving the story of Eve predates the Lilith manuscript by 500 to 1,000 years. The Lilith manuscript seems to be heavily inspired by ancient near eastern mythologies and folklore.
Medieval Historical/Christian perspective here. I didn’t want to be left out of this interesting debate. Also you seem study focused on Lilith. What is the most interesting thing about her across all the mythos do you think? TLDR: Yes we acknowledge her in christianity because half our book is based off Judaism, but she didn’t make the cut after Constantine. So most modern Christian aren't informed about where she fits into our myth. Since Lilith is figure in jewish myth which is were christianity stemmed from she does have her own place in Christianity but for the most part that was phased out. I only know this this because it is still taught in theology classes at some catholic high schools. But she is barely worth mentioning. It seems like you are well informed on her other versions. It's a shame we did not give her more attention. Sumeria sounds interesting. Had no idea about that as a possible origin. Feels great when you learn something new! There is also a issue of a lot of things being made official and others scrapped in mediaeval times. Don’t get me started pre-Constantine- we couldn’t agree on anything. It was only after that we had to sit down and go through hundreds of scriptures and decide which ones were going in the bible. Lilith didn’t make the cut but was still lore we had. Good luck finding any of those stories on the internet. Not sure why. You can still find them in the college library back when I went. We only have three Archangels in the bible but it is commonly accepted there are at least 7. So a lot of Christian lore so to speak is not in our current scripture. The idea that the devil and lucifer are the same person has no supporting evidence in the bible. But neither does lilith. But we do know like a lot of the archangels that weren't mentioned in the bible were considered to be just as officially as the ones that were until a pope decided otherwise. I'm not a theologian I study medieval society 1100's-1500's and religious doctrine where constantly undergoing changes. That was covered in my highschool theology class as well. Not all of our myth is in scripture. But the church has distanced it's self from that (Im catholic, no comment on other versions of christianity). @@SaltyPecan
Adam is swearing and not acting like an Angel should, it's because he's a ruler of Extermination Angels, and they aren't the same as regular angels. He's the first ever man, so he's important, that's why he's allowed in heaven I guess
Am I not the only one who noticed that Katie is being voice acted by Brandon now?? I mean, I’m not complaining since the pilot voice and the voice now both fit her Edit:I can confirm I’m not the only one.
They replaced all the pilot VA’s. Vivziepop mentioned a long time ago that she dreams about a musical with Broadway actors and now she has it. Alastor new VA played a character from Annie the musical, who Vivziepop always imagined that character as the voice of Alastor. Charlie and Alastor in the pilot needed separate people to do their singing voices. The ADDICT Music Video of Angel Dust, Cherry Bomb had a different person for her singing voice too. Micheal couldn’t continue to be Angel Dust because he needed HEAVY autotune for the ADDICT MV.
@@jonghyxn5 that's why purgatory is a thing in a lot of places (we have yet to see if this exists in Hazbin, seems as if Purgatory is the missing link as it was a place for sinners to redeem themselves (so pretty much what Charlie is trying to make).)
Lol, I juat realized Lilith was the original feminist. She refused to submit adam because why should she they were created equally. Guess that makes Adam the first sexist.
13:23 There’s a lot to unpack here, but basically there’s Naturally Born Demons (ie characters such as Charolette/Charlie, the Overlords, Imps, etc) and the Earth-Born Sinners (ie the Random miscellaneous background characters seen in this Series as well as Helluva Boss).
I believe you mean the Deadly Sins are hell born demons (like Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Mammon, etc.), and most of, if not all, of the characters in Helluva Boss are hellborn demons. The Overlords like Alastor, Vox, Rosie, Zestial, and Carmilla, are earth born sinners that gathered power while in Hell 😁
@@sophiekoett1740 When you put it that way it makes sense. Guess I was a bit thrown off from the scene in the pilot episode where Vaggie is explaining Alastor’s rise to power as an overlord was unprecedented since no mortal soul could harness that kind of raw power. Somehow in my head I figured the Overlords were naturally Born same as the Seven Sins, Imps etc. Thanks for the clarification.
20:17, yeah she’s born in Hell. She was born from Lucifer and Lilith after they got casted down there. Sinners can’t reproduce, unlike Hell born creatures like imps, so she’s unique. And like they said, Lucifer made a deal that Hell borns are pardoned from the execution (so like our Helluva Boss cast ain’t gotta worry abt it lol, even if they were in Pride, where they live and work at)
There are two kinds of citizens in hell: sinners (humans who died and went to hell) and demons (fallen angels/demons who live in hell). It’s a bit confusing cuz they call sinners demons too, but yeah Charlie is a natural born demon. Not a sinner. The rest of the cast in the hotel IS a sinner (even Vaggie).
I would watch this on Amazon prime video, but i also don't want it to show up anywhere on Amazon prime video if anyone looks there, like if im gonna watch something with friends. Thank you for saving me embarrassment.

@@SmileyTheJester considering what we saw in helluva boss and how Adam behaves, I'd guess that Lucifer wouldn't want her to succeed because he knows how fucked up heaven really is in this world. Or it is indeed just a pro-hell propaganda lol, it must have been written by Lucifer himself after all
No? They have different VAs. They don’t even sound close to each other either? Stella is voiced by Georgina Leahy Carmilla Carmine is voiced by Daphne Rubin-Vega
Alastor is one of my favourites from this show same for alot of people and his pure demon is more scary like when he said "this face was made for radio" also the reason why Charlie changed whit adem is because she rarely shows her true demon form it comes out she gets mad
Charlie is Lucifer and Lilith's daughter so she is hellborn like a couple other creatures: imps, hellhounds, shark people etc. No death just unlucky to be born in the pity of eternal torment.
19:48 The thing is this is a fantasy story of real events. So some of this is not true. .1. Angels breaded with humans. A mistake. 2. Atom at the apple. A mistake. .3.If you reprent for your system. You will not be in damnation. You can rise above to another plane. So this story is made out as if Atom was against the dead. As well as the Angels. Different world.

And also a feminist icon for never submitting to Adam…
Lucifer is basically the embodiment of pride.
This is really interesting, can you give me the verses and stuff where these are mentioned?

Adam reminds me of mammoth with that face at the end
Charlie isn't a sinner, she was born in hell. Lucifer and Lilith are her parents. Overlords are sinners, just more powerful ones. hope this helps :D
The Lilith part actually is pretty accurate! But its only mentioned in specific Bibles; the Hebrew one, I believe?
Adam is swearing and not acting like an Angel should, it's because he's a ruler of Extermination Angels, and they aren't the same as regular angels. He's the first ever man, so he's important, that's why he's allowed in heaven I guess
Damn, Adam can fucking sing. Alastor is just preparing to burn everything for his Entertainment.
The fact that we waited for years to watch this and you only had to wait 6 days kind of stings a little
Am I not the only one who noticed that Katie is being voice acted by Brandon now?? I mean, I’m not complaining since the pilot voice and the voice now both fit her
Edit:I can confirm I’m not the only one.
So why fricking stay tuned for 4 years ma man!!!
not even gon say much just gonna say THANK GOD YOUR WATCHING HAZBIN SCOOT!
Daaaaayum! Vaggie isnt scared to tell off Alastor! 👀😯🤣🤣🤣
my bestie told me all about this but my parents would not let me watch it so im gonna watch reaction vids so I get to know the eps
Damn this is so cool I would pay 50k for more
I mean Adam isnt wrong. People had their chance in life. They get what they get when they die. Especially when they dont try to ask for forgiveness.
Yeah but some people think you go to hell for things that aren't bad.
@@jonghyxn5 that's why purgatory is a thing in a lot of places (we have yet to see if this exists in Hazbin, seems as if Purgatory is the missing link as it was a place for sinners to redeem themselves (so pretty much what Charlie is trying to make).)
Far I can say, Is that why alastor hate television, that's because he's rival with VOX the master of television of hell being
He is a RADIO demon so I think he dislikes any MODERN technology in general.
When a silly internet series becomes a Prime original
To be fair 7 years is a blink of an eye for a demon or angel
Yes she was born and raised there
I would watch this on Amazon prime video, but i also don't want it to show up anywhere on Amazon prime video if anyone looks there, like if im gonna watch something with friends. Thank you for saving me embarrassment.
This is the only way I can watch hh
Same.. I can’t have Amazon Prime so I can only watch reaction videos.
Im only here for the "50k" comments
I AM TOO😭😭😭
Maybe Alastor Doesn't like being on video camera because maybe in the fight with Vox, he trapped him in one of those video camera. Vox can transport through them. Maybe thats why he was absent idk. Just a thought.
Charlie is here because she was born here obviously
Lilith is a myth, Lucifer had pride, most of this is no where near the biblical truth but still intresting
I'd call it a remix, kinda like marvel's Thor
@@Zoey_the_Rat Yea it think it would be funny to find out that Charlie was wrong and how bad hell truly is because of her dad
@@SmileyTheJester considering what we saw in helluva boss and how Adam behaves, I'd guess that Lucifer wouldn't want her to succeed because he knows how fucked up heaven really is in this world. Or it is indeed just a pro-hell propaganda lol, it must have been written by Lucifer himself after all
If anyone saw episode 4 , carmillas va is stella from helluva boss
No? They have different VAs. They don’t even sound close to each other either?
Stella is voiced by Georgina Leahy
Carmilla Carmine is voiced by Daphne Rubin-Vega
Alastor is one of my favourites from this show same for alot of people and his pure demon is more scary like when he said "this face was made for radio" also the reason why Charlie changed whit adem is because she rarely shows her true demon form it comes out she gets mad
I love the fact that adam is a angel in this series because im pretty sure hes in hell irl 💀
Literally gonna cry I’m so exited for this 😭😭😭😭😭
Charlie is Lucifer and Lilith's daughter so she is hellborn like a couple other creatures: imps, hellhounds, shark people etc.
I think it’s so funny 14:39 😂
I would spend 50k too 💀🤷♂
There are hellborn demons (Charlie, Blitz and so on.) and there are sinners (humans) who got there.
3:20 yes all voices (I think all) are different
Did you know that when charlie and Adam were talking about the biggest problem Adam look at us
Its not a dumb question, im not sure if its confirmed but im sure its implied that Charlie is only in hell because shes Lucifers daughter.
I think it was Adam who killed the other angel to try to frame demons wouldn’t put it past him
I hate Adam as well but we that song had no lies hell is forever like it or not and you have to earn your way into hell
My favorite characters so far are Angel and Nifty. Husk is a good one too.
Me and Charlie both believe some every one deserves a second chance but ik when is gone for but I believe everyone can change if they just try
Wait so if Alastor just hates being on video, that means at 7:07 when he said "never going to happen" to Angel, it wasn't necessarily saying they wouldn't fool around, he was just saying it'd never happen on film
He's ace👍
Shaddup
God damn ! Verbalase spending billions for this one !
