I have always thought that IU as a stainless steel Lotus. She looks pretty and delicate, but that is just looks. She has thrived in spite of being rejected, hated, canceled, objectified, and treated poorly. I hope my first K-bias finds her happiness. She deserves it. Only in Korea, could Mr. Yang be found not guilty, or should I say, rich enough. Everywhere else he would be doing 3 to 5 years in prison, just to prove he is not untouchable for his crimes. (Yes, he did commit crimes in the US and told to leave) I doubt he will ever be able to travel to the US (Put on the Do Not Enter list) again and never be able to gamble in Las Vegas again (He has been Black Balled). He has to make a hit out of BM or he will never get the CEO chair back. And YES, these new idols need to be older to be able to stand up to the toxic industry. He is trying to pull a new IU out of the bunch. But IU is IU and I doubt there will be another for a long time.

If you debut to become an Idol at a young age, better think twice. Because one day you will regret the decision. You will not enjoy your childhood life like any other normal teenager. For me Idol career is just temporary because once it's disband you take different career path. For example you debut at the age of 13,14 or 15 then it's disband when you are just mid twenty's but you don't want to be in the entertainment industry. You decided to take architecture course but can't because you don't have the basic. Study and enjoy your childhood life then you can think of what kind of career you decided you take.
Korean people are crazy, specially parents. Like, there are literally soo many youngsters who want to be kpop idol just because of fame and all and nobody is there to guide them the right path

Well their life isn’t over when their idol life is over. YG does well to try and elevate their artists to be more than just an idol. Not only that, but YG pays really well, so the artists can retire with ACTUAL money. Last, if babymon is like Treasure, they will continue to attend school. They may also continue to pursue a college degree which will set them up as well.
But you’re right in that they won’t have a traditional teenage experience. Sometimes that’s just what some of these kids want 🤷🏻♀️

Personally in my opinion I think they are too young to debut cuss like in the video they might grow up and realise that being a Kpop idols isn’t want they want anymore and knowing how competitive this industry is they might be pressured and that they will be compered to other groups which might also put them in a tight spot even though they are from YG I think that they will get pressured to much and because they are minors they are going to have very very very strict rules as well and plus I do think companies should stop debuting minors in the Kpop industry in my opinion the perfect age to debut would be 20 to 22 years old or 21

Of course, they could decide that they don't want to continue down that path, but how is that any worse than the 60% of most ordinary school-age kids who spend years shuffling from class to class in school having no idea what they want to do for a career and knowing that most of the stuff they learn in school will be forgotten and useless.

Yo these kids getting judged for their looks already, and yes I personally think they're too young to debut, I even think new jeans are too young,even though their music is really good, but my reason why I think they're too young is the reasons mentioned earlier, netizens can be really harsh and unfair with criticism, I mean with other groups that have young members they have older members who are mature enough to look after the younger ones, but when your oldest member is still a baby themselves, it could be really difficult for these youngsters in the long-run, plus with a busy schedule, it can take a toll physically, but I wish them all the best, I hope they'll be alright
No idol should debut under 18. Argue with the wall. I don't care if it's their dream or not, they can fulfill it after they become adults and actually need a job to make a living for themselves.

Are you in the company to say it's the right decision? For me it's pretty obvious YG is debuting them ONLY because Hybe debuted New Jeans. YG realized how profitable it could be to debut children because 1.asia in general has an obsession with youth 2.international fans will create a ruckus online because of underage girls debuting and poof, YG will be making a ton of money from all the controversy. I don't doubt the girls are extremely talented as YG does have an excellent eye for talent but the trend is very worrying :(

Hipocrisy, I guess... many may think that there's no use on caring about njs when it's millions in favor vs what seems to be a minority against the idea. Also they may point out that the music is good so age doesn't matter. I sincerely won't be supporting any of these underaged groups after knowing about what goes behind closed doors in Kpop. Baymon hasn't even debuted yet but there's already a lot of people hating on them but believe it or not, Aespa, Nmixx, Newjeans and other famous 4th gen gg's right now we're also hated before and after their debut and are famous now so there's not a problem with that at all, but the problem are their age's *(THEY'RE MINORS!)* like for example, Aespa and Bp debuted with the age of 18+
