Its been a long time coming, February 5th will officially make 2yrs that I've owned and modified this car. I've had tons of set backs, lots of haters, and countless issues but I didn't let any of that stop me. I had bigger plans for this car and while I am moving on from my Volvo Roots this S60 T5 has been my craziest Volvo build yet. I made this video to pay tribute and showcase some of the hardships I was dealt. From having the engine blow on this car 3 months into ownership when the car was stock, to being constantly ridiculed, to having parts delayed multiple times, to getting sent the wrong parts multiple times, to getting out of a long relationship, to being unemployed for 6 months while I still built this car, to having my original tuner screw me over and not give me what I paid for. I went against the norm with this Volvo S60: installing fender flares, making custom bumpers, doing a fully painted engine bay, big turbo setup with a external wastegate, etc. I hope this video opens the eye's of many and inspires people in the community to always build their cars for themselves and don't give up. I did 95% of the work for this car in my driveway alone when I was 19/20yrs old.

Bruh I always wanted to get a s60 and after this yup it's solid this is what I'm getting thanks to you man and tips on the build problems or issues to look out for
Get an earlier 2.3, try to find a manual or be prepared to replace the b4 servo at least and have super expensive trans fluid from Volvo (other brands have been known to cause problems even with identical specs!) Auto TCM mapping will make it more fun though. Front subframe bushes will likely knock but poly bushes will fix, standard strut brace bushes will also likely be perished and the pcv system needs to be maintained, vapour from oil filler cap after a run is a giveaway for blocked pcv. Also be aware steering lock is awful so no tight turns at low speed 😂
I've been following you since you had "Nemesis" and honestly you've made me wanna do stuff to my s60, that's why I'm currently on the hunt for a second motor to build. I'm gonna miss seeing this car in my Instagram and Facebook feed, I cannot wait to see what your next build is gonna be, keep doing what you're doing dude!!!!

Anything is possible with enough time, money and knowledge but it honestly isn’t worth it…might as well just start with a s60r or s60 2.5t between wiring and having to change the rear suspension, subframe, transmission, and buy a bunch of awd parts you could’ve just started with a R or 2.5t and done a big turbo setup for the same price and honestly probably cheaper. Doing a custom big turbo setup like I did on this car is very expensive. Mostly the tuning aspect but thing have changed some since I built this car.
@s60rr on Instagram I have a video that I made and still haven’t released because I needed to add the screenshots I had of our conversations to it. Really I been slacking on doing it but expect to see the video soon. I didn’t forget and ima put everything out on the table with what happened.
Elbow grease, paint, and a lot of time. Work on getting the car super clean first. Then look at cosmetics you like. Get the fitment and wheels that best fit your tastes. Dont be afraid to experiment. In terms of power. There is a lot of power to be freed on stock parts. Do a rear muffler delete, put a shorter resonator on it and fabricate some pipes. Open up the intake box and put the biggest cone filter you can fit in it. Then take some cheap air ducting and route it down to where the fogs lights were. You can either reinstall fog lights somewhere else or delete them. You can also duct from the grille if you want but that will hurt your IATs. Mount the stock intercooler in front of the AC compressor instead of sandwhiched inbetween the rad and AC. Make sure all of your fluids are new and that your engine is running properly. Only run 93oct. Make sure the PCV system is fresh and that you dont have any leaks. Make sure transmission is in good shape and that the suspension is in shape. Then you can get a proper tune to increase engine power. If you want more power than that, take the aforementioned mods, put a custom downpipe and turbo flange adapter, and install a GT28 turbo on the manifold. Run that downpipe to the midpipe, install a larger fuel pump and larger injectors. Get a tune for that setup, and you should be pushing around 350-400 horsepower. At this point this point you'll likely look into getting cylinder wall supports or shims to prevent the cylinder walls from cracking (due to the open deck design). Do all of this and you'll be faster than most street cars. Just dont expect the power upgrades to be cheap.
@@JMX2332 I’ve felt this way for a while the people in the community who know my story know that this car is lucky I even “finished it.” If you can a call it that even though there were more small things I wanted to do.
Yes and no. The rear bumper just like the front is custom made. The lower half of the bumper came from a facelift xc70. My stock rear bumper I cut in half and I molded the lower half of the xc70 rear bumper into my factory rear bumper. It’s one of 2 that’s been documented to exist the only other one being made by a guy in the Czech Republic for his p2 Volvo S60 XC build.
You don't see many Volvo builds on youtube, but they're really good looking and sounding cars. People should really invest into these.
