Great shooting. You’re 100% on that one shot that just lets you know that you could be actually good at this… that outlier that gives you hope and keeps you coming back for more. Another great vid. Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks very much mate. Feel like I’m developing a bit of a short game which really helped to save scores. Hopefully get more consistent with the irons 👍🏻
Cheers mate, was really happy with the round. And even happier with the new putter 😁 I think this is the start of a very good relationship between us 😂
Hoping to get some more episodes out soon. Only just had a little boy a few months ago so haven’t had much time for golf but slowly finding my way back into it 🏌🏻♂️ Best of luck with the handicap 📉
Cheers Gary, definitely one of the better rounds 👍🏻 FYI - Almost finished my first ever shot video of 2024. Hope to have it out next week. The weather has not helped me getting episodes out so far this year 😂 Praying for some consistent weather 🙏🏻
Loved the video Jamie! Have to say the confidence is back and you look like your enjoying it more!! Absolutely Love the Toulon Design putters ❤ As they feel fantastic off the face! You can see the confidence oozing from the flat stick and this will transfer in to the rest of your game and hopefully lower your scores!! 😄👍👍🏌️⛳️
Thanks Stephen, glad you enjoyed it 😁 Absolutely loved this round. Just felt nice to be scoring well. And I’m actually in love with that putter 😍 With the putter sorted, I’ve also been concentrating loads on my short game and chip shots in the hope that inside 100, I can get down in no more than 3 shots. Makes such a difference 👍🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Cant wait for the next video! Look forward to seeing the confidence rise and as you say if you can get up and down more often than not from 100 yards and in then it’s more likely you will be on the birdie bus rather than the bogey beer!! Then you will have to start thinking about a name for an Eagle!! 😉 🦅🦅
Thanks Stephen, will hopefully get to film something soon 😀 Yeah when I started tracking the bogey beers I didn't expect them to be so regular just yet 🤣 If I ever did get an eagle I think I'd retire there and then...go out on top 😂
Mate that was so much fun to watch you staying positive and having a cracking game. Short game compared to last time is worlds apart. Well done now keep it up 😀👏
Thanks a million mate, have been practicing my short game loads. Makes such a difference if you can get up and down or eliminate the three putts. Hopefully can keep it up now 💪🏻
That looks like a great course for a high handicapper. Not long, no OOB, ditches, water hazards. You were making great contact with most shots there. Really impressive. You probably realised that you got a bit armsy with some of those mid irons hence pulling them to the left. A common fault of mine when I try to steer shots rather than just allow the swing to happen. Great to watch though and quite inspiring as I head out to the course myself in a couple of hours for our Monday veterans event.
It’s absolutely ideal. I’ve only played it twice and both times I’ve scored substantially better than my handicap. I might go there every time I need a confidence boost 😂 Yeah! I tend to get the club stuck behind me in the backswing and as a knee jerk reaction I tend to flip the club which results in a very closed club face and an out ronin swing path. But I’ve been practicing loads since this video and I’ve been striking it really well. Best of luck with the round today mate 👍🏻
Man, I'm proud of you. After giving you stick last time for being too negative...what a change your positive attitude made! You were like 6 under handicap for those ten holes. This is the sort of golf we knew was in you. Treat yourself to a pint of the blackstuff to celebrate...I would.
Haha cheers mate, was delighted with how the round went especially as I can still see so much more potential to shoot even better. I’ve definitely had a few pints since to celebrate 😂🍻 thanks for watching Tom
Cheers mate, was really happy. I actually couldn’t believe how well I was scoring despite the odd mishap with an iron. Just shows what a bit of a short game can do for ya. Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻

Cheers mate, I’m sure you won’t be surprised to hear I’d recommend the Odyssey Toulon Design 😂 She’s an investment rather than a purchase 😂 Thanks for watching Ryan 👍🏻
Some very good scrambling. That said, I have a suggestion. For one round, leave your driver in the bag and tee-off with a long-iron on every hole just as you did on the first hole of the day. I think your driver is putting you into trouble too often but in return is not giving you enough distance to hit the greens in regulation. So, put your tee shots in the fairway, hit a lay-up and then a short pitch on every par-4 hole. Same with the par-5 holes, and many of those you will get on in three(3) shots as well and be putting for par. In short, you are making yourself take far too many difficult shots from the rough and behind or around trees, etc. when you could be making far easier shots from the middle of the fairway. It will be the same number of strokes (possibly less) to get to the green, but with far less risk. Cheers.
Believe it or not, I did try this before however my score was actually worse because of the lack of distance. I think you think I'm better with my irons than I actually am 😀 As mentioned in a previous comment, my issues in golf are not being able to execute the shots with ALL my club 😂 I can mishit a wedge shot just as badly as a driver etc. If anything, my miss with an iron off the tee is way worse than driver. In this video, I took driver off the tee on 5 holes , and found the fairway with three of them. I think that's a pretty good result. Every iron I took off the tee, I hooked left, and then it's just a matter of luck as to whether you're behind a tree or not. Also, when I did find fairway with driver, I had a 7 iron or less in so not sure I agree with not having the distance to hit greens in regulation. If anything the problem was my approach shots with my irons that I kept hitting heavy. Anyway, thanks for talking the time to watch the video and providing your feedback. Much appreciated 👍
Youre quite good at iron play, would be verh curious to see you on utility irons from the tee, easier to hit on 2,3 or 4 iron plus direction and distance. Well pplayed round.
If I could make consistent contact like you do I could have kept playing golf. I went 3 years and could never stop digging in the ground under the ball.
Same as myself new putter saved lots of shots well done . Like you save the shots around and on the green No way are you a high handicapper on that showing 18-20 I’m sure even lower 👍
A good putter that you have confidence in is absolutely critical. It’s your most used club. Yeah on that round I feel like I should be a lot lower, especially given I can hit my irons so much better than that. But the problem is those rounds are far too infrequent 👍🏻 Thanks for watching mate
It’s actually meant to be a Bogey Beer 🍻😂 my version of Rick Shiels Birdie Sauce . I probably should have picked a word I can actually pronounce 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
Haha I wish Karen. Although, when I play well, I feel like I have the bones of a good golfer but it’s all too infrequent. Thats a slightly easier course than most also. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Cheers John, as mention it was over 10 holes but I had 24 points over 9 and 42 strokes. Technically that’s my best ever 9 hole score but can’t really count it as it was a mix of holes and I did technically play off a wrong tee 🙈 but for a winter practice round it’s a good sign. Thanks for watching mate
Aw mate, I’ve never regretted a purchase less in my life 😂 As you know, my putting has been breaking my heart recently so it was well worth it. Zero three putts and I didn’t miss a single putt that I “should” have holed 👍🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper having faith in the clubs and putter is the first part of getting things going. You will back yourself with that putter. Police 🚨🚓 are going to knock at your 🚪 soon. Stealing a handicap. You shoot the same scores as me and I am off 17.7!!! I seen a good few of your videos and you regularly shoot between 90-95. The handicap committee would cut you to 15
I take it you haven’t seen my most recent couple of videos so 😂 I can assure you my handicap is reflective of my average scoring and not just a few videos on UA-cam. It’s an official WHS handicap monitored by a handicap committee within my club. As mentioned at the start of the video, this is a very easy course, unlike my own course which is a tough links course that I regularly shoot over 100 on. I also find it a lot easier to play on my own as opposed to in competitions with random people. Not sure what I would have to gain by maintaining an artificially high handicap when it’s certainly not winning me any competitions
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper fair enough, however I am looking at your scores for 9 and 18 holes if your getting 20 points or more it suggests that you should be lower in your handicap. And that course looks tight which would frighten me, as you're straighter than me!
Yeah but as I said, a few casual rounds on UA-cam aren’t reflective of my average qualifying scoring. Sometimes I score more than 36 points, sometimes a lot less. I think the UA-cam rounds shows what I can do when there’s no pressure, but I’m far too inconsistent at the moment. The course was tight however there are zero hazards and it’s quite short.
