I think Sheltered by Ghosts is going to be the chase uncommon for this set and a staple as long as it's in standard. Seems like it flew under the radar during spoiler season but every time I've seen it in a creator's early access gameplay it's enough to turn a whole game around on the spot.
I don't mind SBG being good. But I hate that it only goes in 1 deck. This exact deck, in any format. There just isn't any deck that can use it besides UW auras. I know they wanted to make more 'powerful only in it's niche' cards but this just feels like there's a cool new toy but only 1 game you can play with it.
Entity Tracker isn't a color pie break, for the same reason Vedalken Archmage and Roil Cartographer aren't: Drawing cards is a blue payoff, and the trigger for doing it is something any color in this set can care about (since it's an enchantment set). Other colors also being able to draw cards from enchantments entering doesn't mean it's out of pie for blue; it's just not something blue generally does, because blue doesn't usually care about enchantments when you're not in an enchantment set.
Blue does Care about Enchantments ocasionally. Shadowmoor, Eld faerie brawl Commander, Zhur. It's uncommon, but It's not that uncommon. Deginetly not a break.
Get Out seems like an amazing sideboard card for this deck. Pulls triple duty. 1. Essence Scatter their creature (or enchantment). 2. Bounce your Hexproof auras and re-deploy them against spot removal. 3. Bounce two of your own creatures in response to a wrath.
31:12 I felt that one. The number of times I've held my one drop in gruul prowess for the exact same reason only to get hit with a bat turn 2. Honestly I think you made the right call there, since the removal spell is far more likely than the bat.
Never really wanna get into Standard due to how expensive that format can be like Modern. But this deck you brewed? I'm deffo gonna start building it! I love Bogles in Pauper and Modern.

i do feel somewhat validated by this video as these strategies performed really well at the prerelease and the cards felt like you can do some really powerful stuff with them. especially since there's an enchantment that can return itself to your hand, allowing you to replay it for all the triggers
I'm having fun looking at the rooms to see if any of them would be good for this deck. Grand Entryway//Elegant Rotunda seems like it would be good since it triggers Eerie 3 times and isn't too expensive, while also furthering the game plan Meat Locker//Drowned Diner could maybe be a sideboard option, but honestly it just looks too expensive. Bottomless Pool//Locker Room is better for the game plan since its a more tempo card, but I feel like the times you need to trigger Locker Room you won't be able to trigger it. Dazzling Theater//Prop Room is just bad for this deck, as is Dollmaker's Shop//Porcelain Gallery. Secret Arcade//Dusty Parlor is very interesting as your Eerie cards all trigger Eerie themselves too, which is powerful and probably makes it your best sideboard option in case of a long game. Very cool deck, can't wait to see what other new archetypes end up forming.
Do you think Valgavoth's Lair would be a good upgrade for the deck? A free Eerie trigger plus another free enchantment for Ethereal Armour seems really strong. Although the tap land may too big of a drawback for an aggro deck.
If you don't block the stun then floodpits drowner can activate. You'd need to hexproof against that activation, in which case why not just block the stun in the first place.
Either this or a bant version with calix will make tier 2 or 1 this set im feeling it. Basically all of the cards from the kamigawa enchantment have been reprinted in one way or another, just wished hallowed haunting was reprinted in duskmourn and not the bonus set or whatever its called.
I dig this deck but I do worry it's going to get pummeled by mono-red with the new leyline. The removal is there but it's slow. There are ways to stabilize on turn 3 but are they as reliable as mono-red's turn-3 (and turn-2) kills?
I went to a duskmourne prerelease event and built a wubrg enchantment deck and it surprisingly performed very well lol. I think i just got lucky with a ton of enchantment synergies, so even being wubrg i was always able to do something.
Whats sideboard look like for this? I dont really play a lot of constructed, so I am not sure what else I would want to board in except maybe some counter spells if they have enchantment removal
This standard now has a bunch of aggro, go-wide, and boggles in it. It also has good 3, 4, and 5 mana sweepers. I would guess all decks will want to run a healthy sweeper package to keep up their win percentage against the aforementioned. With sweepers being so available, I would then guess the meta is going to shift towards mid-range or control. Whether it lands on mid-range or control probably depends on how good the control pieces are. I don't think bloomburrow had strong enough control cards to pull the meta up, so I guess we'll see how powerful duskmourn control cards are; there are certainly plenty of them to choose from. Duskmourn has a ton of enchantment support, and there might not be enough good enchantment responses to hold them back. That lack of threat to enchantments might result in even "pretty good" enchantments becoming all-stars. Perhaps the format will come down to enchantment response quality.
I think to make this deck competitive, there needs to be wrath protection. I know there are at least 1 or 2 things IIRC you can flash in to blink your team and return them at the end of the turn. But yeah, temporary lockdown crushes this deck otherwise.
I'm thinking the same, probably just negate or one of the quench variants is fine. Spell pierce would be the best but sadly that rotated out with kamigawa
I kinda wish he waited after the set went live to play a budget deck to see if it survives in the meta. During the early access, I feel a lot his opponents are just trying new stuff and showcasing new cards.
Plus I feel like he'd have to play it in Bo3. It has no answer to monored in Bo1. While there were some people playing monored in the prerelease, (Seth even ran into one that got mana screwed), they were mostly avoid playing it to actually explore other decks and such (they only get a day to play, after all.) I feel like the monored situation will get a lot worse post release. The only thing that will slow it down is bo3 lacking a hand smoother.
On Sunday at my LGS's 2HG event my teammate and I opened 14 total W and U rooms, including 2 of the stairs. Called it MTG Cribs. Think you can try and make it or against the odds?
This deck feels more fair than boggles to me, as the hexproof comes from the auras instead of the creatures. The deck is more vulnerable to spot removal but is more resilient because it doesn't depend on any one creature.
I believe Leyline of Resonance is a trap card for red aggro decks. In order to win with such a deck you need a good mix of creatures, buff spells and a few lands. If you are missing one of the three things become difficult. It's not like these decks have that much card draw. Let's take the best case when the layline is in your opening hand. Even then you start with 6 instead of 7 cards and that can make a difference. Plus there is much more pressure to have 2 or more creatures, otherwise the leyline doesn't do anything. These decks can win with just one creature on the field by pumping, attacking and then hurling it to the face. If you mulligan things become much harder, the same if your starting hand has two leylines. If you draw the layline it's a dead card. You need the game to reach turn 5 to be able to play it and get any value and that is if you hit your land drops. I think the leyline can be much better in a mid range red deck that plays all the cool cards that are too slow for an aggro deck and has enough removal to survive the early game.
But that two starting leylines turned your one pump spell into three pump spells which made your one creature into Lethal on turn two? The one example we see here is someone getting mana screwed and we don't know how their deck is built at all because we don't get to see it played. They had a one land greedy keep because they had leyline and got punished. That can happen to literally any and every deck, being greedy and getting punished for not muliganing when you should have. Or just not getting lucky and drawing the lands you needed. They didn't get lucky.
@@toolittletoolate I misunderstood the card thinking you cannot target the same creature twice. Still, I think it's good on your opening hand, otherwise it's 4 dead cards in a deck where you can't really afford it.
Leyline works with 1 Creature, it says "You MAY choose new targets", so even with just one body it doubles up all your pumps Its definitely spookier with 2 bodies because split pressure, but the value isn't nil at 1, it also duplicates any of your burn you point at creatures, so you can kill an annoying blocker and still bolt face or whatever

In the match that ended at 39:24 shouldn't we have save the protection for a removal instead of protectig against Kaido's stun ?
If you don't block the stun then floodpits drowner can activate. You'd need to hexproof against that activation, in which case why not just block the stun in the first place.
I wonder how Saiba Cryptomancer does in this archetype. It serves as more instant-speed protection, on top of being a hexproof body
