One day I will go to Japan and eat all these recommendations, just need to save up for a trip. Hopefully even join one of your tours! Thank you Frank, really appreciate your videos!
Ah, I know the feeling of having a store you love suddenly close without warning. I think it was about 10 years since I left Iwakuni after being stationed there for 2 years, where I was finally able to visit Iwakuni again recently for my current job just to find many of my favorite stores closed over the years. A yakitori izakaya, coffee shop, my favorite Mexican food (Mike's Tex Mex), and yes, also not one but TWO ramen shops closed or changed owners and just wasn't the same. And I think someone else mentioned in the comments already, but Uniqlo definitely is a lifesaver if you need spare clothes in a pinch and you're built larger than your average Japanese. Saved me from embarrassment more than once after getting food/coffee stains before a big work or social meeting lol.
Thanks for watching and sharing some stories too! Always tough to see those favorite places disappear, but I'm sure there was a smile on your face just thinking about the memories spent at those restaurants. Yes, Uniqlo to the rescue! I remember when I was a kid what they had was pretty bare bones...amazing now that there's some style to match the quality too!
Woo! The 5am ramen train is back! That's great that the kouyokaku owners found an apprentice, would have been sad for them to close despite making such great ramen
I don’t know how you don’t have more subscribers, the content is top notch and your energy is infectious too! Keep it up!!
Thank you for the kind words and for watching! Will keep it rolling 😊
It is amazing to have someone like Frank to bring us and share the best ramens around Japan.
Thanks for saying that and for watching!

Thank you for watching! I'm sure you'll make it here one day and you're of course welcome to join a tour 😊
Persona background music?
Haha, yes
Such a great review. It’s always good to see you
Likewise, thanks for watching!
Kita Kyushu is where my dad was born. I have never been down that far in my trips to Japan. Cool to see it! Thanks Frank!
You have to go visit now! Your ramen roots 😊

For sure! So great to see these places carry on. Thanks coming on board again!
Uniqlo Frank, it’s been a life saver when the weather changes suddenly.
Absolutely! When in a pinch, Uniqlo to the rescue 😊
It's a shame that Tonpuku closed, it's always sad when a place closes simply because there is no one to continue the shop.
Indeed! Bitter sweet being able to share their ramen with you all on screen before that happened.
Next time I’m going to Japan I’m putting Kitakyushu on the list, seems like a nice city!
You'd like it! Nice that it's not too crowded as well.
wow good call on that shop maybe not being around much longer 🎯
I got lucky with that guess, haha
I do love me a good Tonkotsu 👍
You'd be right at home in Kita Kyushu.
Does champon belong in the family of ramens or is it something else? 😊
A first cousin of ramen perhaps? 😀
Do you ever think about starting an Udon channel? 😊
I think the Ramen Gods would strike me down. Do like udon once in a while tho 😊
I know this is not ramen related but...
Who were the Banana People in the port???
Pretty random, huh? Haha. Apparently that port handled a lot of Japan's banana imports back in the day.
For me it's the 4th bowl that's catch me up, but damn, i can't eat pork 😂😂
Sorry about that - 4th bowl is a great choice tho!
👍🍜
Looks great as usual.
Thanks for watching, as always!
