Since ford stopped depending on an outside supplier for their diesel powertrains they’ve updated their engines every 2 years or so. They get better and better with each update.
i have owned many 4wd's over the years but am now fortunate to own a 2021 F250 Black Widow with 6.7 Powerstroke. There is no comparison to all the other 4wd's i have ever owned. it is great on fuel and will tow anything with ease. If i had a choice of two trucks - a modern vehicle or John ruth's old toyota ( milo ) i would pick the old mechanical injected diesel ( milo) any day - might be slow but she ain't gunna stop ! Watch out if Mack ever decide to build 4wd's for the public market 🤣
I can't even get parts for a 1kz Toyota without a 3 week wait. In this day and age, if something breaks on tour it's tow truck. I'm talking new, genuine parts by the way, the only type worth labour.
@@elliottg5987 ya all our parts are genuine ford, remeber the pick up trucks in America is huge market and so is the parts, we get containers of it here so we got plenty of gear if need be 🍻

I wasn’t talking about new parts but second hand or something you can salvage out of a wreck , I have seen the guys do this plenty of times on the show .
Might have more power out of the box but are they as reliable? Only based on UA-cam research, the Ford seems to be in last place for reliability. No they are junk! I live in TN, USA. I am English and have an open mind and know the other vehicles available elsewhere. I work on these trucks daily also Dodges and Chevys. I would not own ANY of the newer vehicles sold here. Not even the Toyota's. We don't get the 79 over here nor do we get any Toyota or Nissan diesels. We get junk. Too many gadgets and too much electronics. The can bus systems constantly go down. We had a 6.7 main bearings fail at 80k miles and the truck was maintained by the Ford dealer. Also the bodies on the Fords fall apart after a very short time. I will keep my Tacoma 4 cyl. If I get a tow rig I will get a 1994 Dodge W250 Cummins. All new are simply not reliable.
C section chassis gives the vehicle its flex by design. The box section Ram is rigid. Ford know this… so do automotive engineers. Rams lame attempt to highlight the chassis flex did nothing to curb the success of the Super Duty. I’m on my 3rd one now and wouldn’t ever contemplate a Ram.

Yep, big comfortable truck, but that's what it is, a truck. Stupid big for most places here. And I have to say driving a Prado with a camper trailer on the back around Tassie myself, I didn't envy him one little bit trying to get that rig around.
Ford = unreliability You Australians will learn about that soon. The UA-cam channel lapping the island already found out the hard way. His ford 3500 already left him stranded. People buy Ram for the cummins motor. Most of the semi trucks use cummins because of reliability. Even the Fords use cummins in their 6500 medium duty trucks. Cummins 1st Duramax 2nd Powerstroke last in reliability.
The only reason trucks use cummins is because Cat stopped making 15ish ltr truck motors . And Detroits are too wide to fit in between the rails of Kenworths so if you want a Kenworth Cummins is the only option .

Jase even in the State Ram is their main work truck. Not too mention they have a lot issues unlike RAM they built tough and it’ll out work FORD 1000 times. Go check out LAPPING THE ISLAND PAGE. He’s F350 failed already.
Ford's are #1 in the states for many many years. Why do you think that is? 🤔
He did fill the intake with water. No engine is going to like that.
Go for a ride dubbed back in black this time round in cape york
But where can you park the thing when you go to the mall for a few takeaways? Oh yeah, take the eLantra 1.8 instead.
Crazy man geez never have I seen a diesel do stuff like that wow
Did you compare hub dyno figures to dyno with 35’s bolted on? Lol
Just wondering if it was so good, why did you want to get rid of it only after one season?
Because he just got a 300 series cruiser chopped ready for a new tray
It's part of their business model, to showcase a vehicle in a season, and then write it off as part of a lottery draw. Very good revenue and they can bring in new toys for new season and avoid any long term reliability issues
You win! I can’t see myself driving this vehicle. I think most Australian adventurers are more interested in a lower dollar spend and more conservative weight. I wonder if the Bush Tucker Man would buy a ticket and upgrade the Landi?
that's alot of power !
Just a reply to the old mate who says real trucks today don’t use v8 has obviously never heard of scania before. 770hp now. By the do your research and ask any truck driver in Australia what they think of the isx Cummins with dpf and you’ll spend hours hearing how hateful those engines are. They were crap. The x15 now has had many failures before half a million ks.
Don’t see to many Scania quads in the mining industry Pilbara region. Caterpillar are phasing out of trucks & predominantly running Cummins motors. Must be a sound reason for it.
ua-cam.com/video/2UwSOVTQCis/v-deo.html
My understanding is this Scania problem is with the "emission system" rather than the "actual motor"?
Trx is up there ain’t it?
One thing for sure is Simon won’t have to worry about getting a Coffee- you can fit a coffee shop in the back of that big Girl !
You might have to beef up the trailer drawbar coz the big F truck has enough grunt to stretch it 🤣
Are Supafit going to do some seat covers ? You need some tough seat covers for a tough truck !
🤔 he does realise the same Cummins motor comes out with 1458nm in the HO models?
Fitted with a surprise pea front end. It's a surprise if it doesn't suit itself.
For 2023 Ford offers a high output version of the powerstroke that makes 500 hp and 1200 lb ft from the factory.
Absolute weapon. 💪🏽
Disagree with you there mate and I said it to your face at the Brisbane show. I’ve got a ram 3500 with 1400+ kN out of the box. Still like your content though. Good hand grenade btw. Stand back and watch the comments
Yours is a 3500, Jason's is a 2500. His comparisons are the 2500 series whether gmc 2500, f250, ram 2500
Its a 2500 versus 2500
Not 3500 versus 2500, where did Jase mention this?
@@Donkay01 yes you are correct. But jase has now got the equivalent to a 3500. His has a Gvm upgrade putting it into the NHV category and now requires a light rigid license to drive it.
you do know the Ram comes with higher end engine they offer a lower engine for those who dont need all that power and dont want to spend an extra 20k. also that F250 has a powerjoke under the hood good luck getting parts when it fails a friend of mine that lives in Sydney is still waiting on a new water pump around 3 months now.
There are plenty of trucks in Australia: Kenworth, Peterbilt, Western Star, Mack, Mercedes, Scania, need I go on? Rams and the Rameater are nothing more than big, powerful dual cab utes! Unless, there's a lot of big ego's out there?!
Getting a ticket was the best decision ever ❤💪🔥
2500s are glorified grocery getters, only used for relatively light heavy duty work, get a 3500 ram like anyone that’s actually going to do some serious work and it has more torque than the Ford, the ram also comes with the cp3 not the terrible CP4
watch out for the diff/housing failure
I got me a ticket 🤞🙏🙏🙏i would cry and polish it at same time 😍😍
Jase. I love to see how you beat this next year with another ute give away.
Cannot lie about the science of these things ...
Same intro on Instagram.
I want one
and fuck up all the tracks with this torque and the heavy trailer...
If I win it does it come with a mechanic to fix that bucket...
One thing the ute has more light than a football stadium lol
If it’s so good why give it away? Are you building a 300 Ute?
Shots fired
its $120k more then a 2500 ram it would want to eat it ......
Jase give it a break mate
Love it. Just need to win it or Powerball now.
Making the patriot campers flog eat his words!
Nice bit of kit 🤔😜👍🏻🤩
Power is not the only thing in. Aussie environment.you need reliability which ford doesn't have. Landcruiser79 will mock you when you stop half of the way
"Rameater" i guess thats one way for a Ford to "take a load"....hahaha ;)
Yes more grunt but can you get parts in the middle of nowhere ? This is why trucks like toyota have reigned supreme in the outback - everyone uses them and parts are available .
Can get parts delivered aus wide, it is 2022 now, there are businesses in aus just for the American rigs and a huge range of spare gear 👍🍻
I can't even get parts for a 1kz Toyota without a 3 week wait. In this day and age, if something breaks on tour it's tow truck.
I'm talking new, genuine parts by the way, the only type worth labour.
@@elliottg5987 ya all our parts are genuine ford, remeber the pick up trucks in America is huge market and so is the parts, we get containers of it here so we got plenty of gear if need be 🍻
Now that Ford are also bringing the 150 in to OZ we are spoiled for choice .
Is the Ford imported as RH drive or converted here like the Bodge - sorry Dodge ?
I wasn’t talking about new parts but second hand or something you can salvage out of a wreck , I have seen the guys do this plenty of times on the show .
Might have more power out of the box but are they as reliable?
Only based on UA-cam research, the Ford seems to be in last place for reliability.
There's one good comparison video (few years old so things could have changed now?) showing the difference in chasis twist when flexing between the buses.
The F truck twists so bad that the tailgate can't be opened, the Ram didn't seem to be adversely affected at all. ua-cam.com/video/_f3CAnH7WIM/v-deo.html
@@streakychambers658 So a third Ford in how many years? One of my friends bought a 1993 Dodge 3500 dually 2wd Cummins 5 speed brand new. Hauls motorcycles for Daytona Harley Davidson. Truck has 1.5 million miles on the original engine and transmission. Let's see a new Ford in 30 years that's driven daily and has 1.5 million miles on the original engine. LOL.
@@streakychambers658 Oh and by the way towing you want rigidity. For offroad you want flex in the chassis. Otherwise you will get cracks. These full size trucks are made for towing, nothing else, so a rigid frame is what you need.
@@SimonElenor you don’t know the answer to that question no more than anyone else. There’s plenty of straws out there…. keep grabbing at them if you’re so content at playing Gotcha 😂
Rameater is something else....phew too much power... Hercules haha. Amazing
Down in Tassie last month, camping in a free camp. In rolls a F250 with a fairly standard van. He came, he looked and drove on. No way was he going to be able to back that van in. Yep, big comfortable truck, but that's what it is, a truck. Stupid big for most places here. And I have to say driving a Prado with a camper trailer on the back around Tassie myself, I didn't envy him one little bit trying to get that rig around.
Kinda want a F250
Ford = unreliability
You Australians will learn about that soon. The UA-cam channel lapping the island already found out the hard way. His ford 3500 already left him stranded. People buy Ram for the cummins motor. Most of the semi trucks use cummins because of reliability. Even the Fords use cummins in their 6500 medium duty trucks. Cummins 1st
Duramax 2nd
Powerstroke last in reliability.
2019-2022 Ram 2500 and 3500 recalled
Owners of large utes need to contact a dealer for repair immediately
Didnt leave him stranded, he rig was part of the recall that was miss info to him, they replaced the diff and he on his way 👍🍻
The only reason trucks use cummins is because Cat stopped making 15ish ltr truck motors . And Detroits are too wide to fit in between the rails of Kenworths so if you want a Kenworth Cummins is the only option .
@@markedward5941 A lot of the Kenworths here are using Paccar engines.
What a joke Jase, carring on like this you will lose respect and your show will have no view's. Shake off the chip you got on your shoulders, justin from patriot is a nice guy and has much respect from viewers...
Someone’s got a ram🙄
I’m still here 🥲
Hahhaa have a winge
You seem really hell bent on trying to dis Patriot at any chance.
First you steal the Toy Hauler concept and make a cheap Chinese rip-off.
Then you have a crack at the Patriot Black Truck with Back in Black.
And now you even put a clip of Justin in this video to once again try and degrade them.
Did a deal not work out in your favour or something, you seem to really have it in for Patriot Campers...
Impressive
I’m crossing my fingers and toes my friends
F-ing awesome
These guys got to be snapping frames with all that tongue weight bobbing up and down
...until Australia gets the Electric utes which will blow everything out of the water with their torque delivery!
Lol. Would rather a shit land cruiser for half the price and still be on the road in 20-30 years. This American gear is good for towing and not much else. Rameater will be rusted up in a shed in 10 years now. How many people actually need to tow so much off road?
The Super Duty trucks are aluminum.
This is great 😂😂
Love how he compared a video from patriot campers that happened a couple year ago haha and the fact he calls out it being 1400nm then on the dyno it’s only 1100 🤣🤣🤣
both good trucks but do u know how a dyno works? no vehicle puts those numbers at the wheels, factory numbers are measured at the crank its called parasitic loss from the driveline same in every vehicle measured on a dyno.
