- I converted my older Central Machinery 14" band saw from wood cutting speed to metal cutting speed. 2500 FPM down to 244 FPM.

You just made my day!
I just got almost the exact same "made in Taiwan" model and was looking at possible upgrades. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Saved me so much time and hassle!
Thank you so much!
Well done. Bought a vintage single speed 14" Taiwan unit yesterday and will use your mod and get a bimetal blade installed.
The links are a huge help. Thank you!
Excellent job! Better than most on youtube! My hats off to you.
Awesome video. Just what I was looking for conversion. Thanks!
Nice very clean job! About what was the cost on that?
That's a great modification ,very neat ,the whole jack shaft/pulley look well supported. I've been thinking about converting my wood/metal bandsaw to cut metal, my bandsaw already has two pulleys for metal cutting but that is still too fast to cut steel, all those pulleys leave no free space to add more /bigger ones, you seem to have a lot of space around the motor for the extras.
Well done.
thank you
Hello...I have the same saw!!! Could you send me the list of your build so I could do this to mine?
there is no list. I came up with the part list at the local hardware store.
Yeah that blade is dull!
