Wanting to check why Lanfang has such a high standard of living(low population size and a ton of gold mines) and immediately getting sidetracked just to completely lose train of thought is an amazing part of the human experience
I was diagnosed with ADHD and we are very similar. The way you jump to everything going on in the world when there is nothing you can do, your disordered thinking and fast speech, stuff like that makes me think you could have it too. It's all small stuff but it's all symptoms. Obviously I don't know you but it's setting off my radar lol@@TobyYellsAtThings
Having Luo as a primary culture is what really sets Acholi apart from it's neighbors, it unlocks early colonization for the state between you and egypt , allowing more to be taken than the other lacustrines
36:30 if you hover on the 0.10 in the nested tooltip for current colonisation progress, it will tell you what determine your current speed. Homelands probably Is applying, your rate of colonisation is proportional to your current population. With such a shall pop 250k (which you could’ve expanded through conquest) colonisation will be very slow, because you have no one to move there.
This game realism is brutal. You spend 10 years just getting to a starting point. I remember when i played a great power for the first time i was shook by the tech and laws that normally took a civil war to pass.
I wondered about. He was complaining about the malaria penalty still showing up, but wasn't actually looking at whether it was being applied to his colonization speed. We only got a quick glance, but it looked like it was working as intended. Edit: There it is. He found it minutes later.
My latest non European game I watched Russia eat china and Prussia. Forcing china to break apart and Prussia to never form germany. Not relevant but I notice games where I'm not playing in the region have the wildest AI endings
The speed of colonization depends on size of integrated population. If you have more integrated pops you colonize faster. You have very low pop. If you had conquered the small nations around you could colonize faster.
I bet once we reach season c you won't be as cautious with wars, I tried out not playing in Ironman to see what I could get away with, and it's surprisingly more than I thought
nice one, i have mixed feelings about this kind of countries they tend to be super boring until you get to the point when you can do something then it gets more interesting than the countries that start "ready"
Frontier colonization makes everything so fun. Before, it's almost impossible to race colonization against UK. You also very lucky UK stopped colonizing for no reason
btw you can do both soft and hard wood in the same building, in the middle production method it should just cut down on hardwood but not entirely stop producing it

I actually have done a few mod videos in the past. They didn't perform as well back then but I do plan to at least revisit a few mods at some point in the future.
Why is this video 2 hours long? I kinda like it, but usually your videos are shorter, will most A-Z videos gonna be 1:20-2hs long? I wanna watch it all, but I don't have enough hours in a day😭
Kinda depends on how long I decide to play nations. I try to keep most of what happens in the video for A to Z. Though for more purposeful content I'll try to keep stuff more to the point.
You misread it. It says homeland state. You are colonizing land outside the Uganda state. You need to look at your state boundaries which only includes the few provinces south of you

@@TobyYellsAtThings dude EVERY game does. Baldurs Gate 3? Skyrim? Minecraft? my god

i played buganda before and the fun part is invading all available neighbors as soon as possible getting to 1.5m gdp by 1850
also good video
biggest mistake he did to be honest

Gets the Bureaucratic Struggle before inventing government administrations.
I would struggle with bureaucracy too if I hadn't invented it yet.
You had low colonization growth speed becuase you had 1 incorporated state and few pops. If you have little pops and little states you colonize slow.
I wondered about. He was complaining about the malaria penalty still showing up, but wasn't actually looking at whether it was being applied to his colonization speed. We only got a quick glance, but it looked like it was working as intended.

lol, yeah I realized that. I'll be the first to say I can be an absolute moron some times.
At this point Every country is a sleepin superpower
Technically not wrong.
Definitely should take some of those small neighbors ASAP in the future. Get those pops!

the plus side of playing a backward state is that you dont start with censorship bcoz you dont have tech for that, its really weird how that works
can't have censorship if you haven't invented anything to censor.
I played as the smallest of these nations, Karagwe and if you focus on military first and just conquer everything it gets much better
I'm over here chillin as Acholi, waiting to research, and I look over. Is that a video about Acholi? That'll gimme something to do lol
Loving your video's man! At the moment my favourite channel!
I swear that the game purposely makes your military as pathetic as possible when fighting wars that should be instant wins and I hate it
Welcome to paradox
thanks for the upload. love the vic3 playthrus. great game love to see it

Really liking this long-form format to listen to while playing games. Gonna check out Aceh and looking forward to what comes next!
can't even imagine trying to do a world conquest with this start!!!

man, victoria 3 is so good
I like seeing you play weak country and make it strong and conquer the world like African nation haha😂😂
Anybody know of hea dead or something?
school
@@TobyYellsAtThings so is school killing ya then? Best of luck from Texas
I think your population plays a big part of colonization speeds.
it does, I didn't realize just how bad my population was at the start.
Have you considered to make video about mods?

i think Central africa is Vicky 3 Ireland. it is the most fun place to build up for beginning players wierldy
Bro how are you sitting so high above your keyboard and mouse, and not killing your arms?
I got a standing desk
You should make a goal for the video so you can end it when you reach it. Like get sea access in this one.
please come back lmao
don't worry, I'll be back at some point, school is taking up quite a bit more time then I expected.
@@TobyYellsAtThings Oh I see :( anyways I wish you the best at school so you can come back to your amazing vids! cheers!

Clearly its pronounces "ae-oh-ly"
Buganda is worse due to the primary culture not being able to colonise anywhere adjacent.
Play Norway
