One thing to mention, if you form Central Europe as France, you actually lose French as a primary culture... UNLESS You are a Republic (any of the 3) when you form it, at which point you can get a second hidden option to grant French as an additional primary culture at the cost of angering your German residents by 10%. This is for any nation that forms central europe as a republic, as is the only way to keep French as a primary culture when forming it.
If you have subjects of ANY kind, that own the provinces needed for Natural borders of France, on Create the Rhine Confederation decision you'll get those states free of infamy. Just make them protectorates through powerblock and spend infamy in getting into USA or smth
i tired the start of the video with my own playthrough and Russia and Austria and great Britain all joined on Prussia side. also loving your videos keep up the great work
I love the idea of Europe just letting France go around bullying Spain and Prussia and Germany in the 1830s. I feel like Metternich would be thinking, "Huh this feels AWFUL FAMILIAR"
I love Victoria 3 but it is the biggest headache to conquer new lands and to slowly incorporate subjects. A long while ago (several DLC's ago), I realized that france was the strongest country and I just straight up ignored infamy and played the entire game around 200 infamy. I conquered a lot but I was constantly on the defense from Cut Down to Size diplo plays by every country that was at least a major power.
The countries you release that become disinterested... They get disinterested because you have no sea access or direct borders with them. Same thing with Westphalia in your Austria run.

That feeling when you love both the aspect and historical era of the game, but you're struggling to learn how to play because of the STUPID AMOUNT OF MECHANICS
@@TobyYellsAtThings Hopefully in the next update they will cuz one of the strongest land armies in 20th, but in Vicky 3 its just pathetic. I saw in my Krakow game how Prussia lost to Bavarians alone.
They actually start with a half decent army, but most nations after losing a civil war, the new power that takes over never builds up a new military to replace it, and often downsizes to account for bankruptcy taken on during the war. That's what happened in this vid. With that said, they do need to follow through on their front-line rework that allows Prussia to walk through Mecklenburg to S/H. As it stands now they have to naval invade to finish the S/H question and both Prussia and Austria combined start with less than half of Denmark's starting fleet.
@@blockchiken They do start with good army, but as I said that at least in my games Prussia AI just doesn't buid any new barracks. Also for S/H they could change how "violate sovergnity" works and to change AI acceptance and usage of it. Hopefully after few years VIc3 war system will be better.
Well the memes won't tell you that but France was actually pretty strong for majority of it's existance. Not so much in timeline of the game but for example in XVI Century, In XVII century in XVIII century and later on Napolenic epoch. It is not surprising that strong state won when you turn it towards it's military. And victoria III was rather dissapointing title.
I think forming the confederation of the rhine while belgium is your protectorate will auto annex belgium PS, really annoys me that you didn't ever do the conquest of algeria

DO YOUR GENERALS NEED TROOP LIMIT TO BRING MORE UNITS TO A BATTLE TOO????? IF that's true I am going to SCREAM 1000 hours in this game and I still don't understand the jank that is the military system in this game smh
Does Toby just blindy follow a guide, without really knowing the game? It's like everything is ignored and everything is followed completely step-by-step, like it was a guide clearly made from another person. 80% of the game is completely ignored while these steps is followed carefully.
Good Question! So the way I go about making videos is built more for the casual player and being entertaining, rather than playing the game as well as I possibly can. I try to start all my videos with a cool guide that uses a cool mechanic people can use themselves to start runs. Like in this video it's the fact you can buff France's offense to +65% from the get go. The Japan video I made a while back is a strategy to take Manchuria from China, Egypt is how to get recognized quickly, so on and so on. The truth of the matter is if you just play meta for every video, then every video will be too similar and not many people will want to keep watching. Once the early game strategy is over I move onto a more genuine/entertaining attempt at completing the goal of the video, in this case, forming central Europe as France. I do cut out the vast majority of the smaller details because the general audience no longer find them interesting to talk about, I believe this video alone had over 4 hours removed from the raw footage. I do develop every single guide on this channel myself, I usually take about a day or 2 to develop them. They are purposefully designed to eliminate as much rng as possible so people with not as much skill can pull them off in game without having to spend countless hours in game obtaining the skills to do so. Hope this helps!
Taking on to say that just a little bit of economic play would have made the conquering a lot easier. Those early game offense buffs are nice. But, once everyone else got skirmish infantry, your French space Marines were not such space Marines anymore. You have the literacy, you could Chuck down 50 universities and maintain the tech advantage throughout the whole game.
@@cactusnecktie this is actually a really solid point. Universities are super worth it and to be completely honest I usually just forget to build them. I will give you this though, the strat would have been way better if I remembered to build universities.
