I just bought a 2019 Accord Sport and I can think of a reason that I may want to use this. Suppose you have your back seat filled with stuff and you can't see anything with your rear view mirror. This would really come in handy. Thanks!

I use Lane watch which is available on older models - it right sided but gives good view on the cars behind you as well.

I just hate you can’t have car play on while it’s showing the rear view camera. I’d rather use this view then then the rear view mirror. Probably won’t be long before this camera will take the place of the rear view mirror. They already have small cameras they are using on foreign cars for side view mirrors. Thanks for the video.

Great hack! Two questions as well. 1). Is that an aftermarket screen protector and 2). How in the heck do I get custom wallpapers on my screen? Everytime I try it won't accept whatever file size/type Im using. Thanks so much!
Thanks man. Yeah. I have a video on a great screen protector. I’ve had it on for over a year. It’s perfect. And the image can not be over the file size at all or it won’t read it and it must be saved as a jpeg I believe. It took me a couple of tries too. What made it easier is when you do it save an image in different ways. Like jpeg bmp etc. that way you’ll see what works. That’s what I did then once I knew what worked I got any picture I wanted and saved it as that format. Hope that helps.
Love your content man. Keep up the good work. Do you have a lot of graininess on the corner when you use your back up camera at night? For example if you close the garage and it’s dark, then you use your rear view camera or this hack? I complaint to the dealer and they replace it but still looks the same. They said the way it looks on all rear view camera for all 10gen accord
Thanks so much man. I do appreciate that. I actually do. It’s funny because it was a lot clearer before I had them do the update for the rear view camera. It’s worked fine before but when I got an oil change they performed the recall fix.
Is your rear view camera very grainy at night? I notice when i used my camera at night at dark places, i see a lot of graininess in the corner of the screen. For example, at night, once you are in the garage and close the garage door , and activate this feature or use the shift the car in reverse, you will see a lot of graininess in the corners of the screen. Are you experiencing this type of issue?
I noticed that too. In fact it seemed to get worse when they did the rear view camera update
@@HondaJon I thought there was something wrong with the camera since i only had the car for 3 months. Took it to the dealer and they replace it but still looks the same. They told me thats how the quality is on the accord sport. But the one thing i find odd is the LX models accord have better quality which is weird because its a lower model.

Hi Jon, Thanks for your videos. They help a lot. I have a 2019 EX-L 2.0T and had 5500 miles on it. Purchased jan 26. When will be my first service? Is it based on miles or months? My oil life is at 30% now.
No problem. Thanks for the support. Per Honda it’s 7500 miles or 12 months whichever comes first. I always do it once a year because I never put many miles on.
Thank you very much. Also I have another question. I had a rough shift (jerky shift) between 10-20mph speed. Thought it would go off after driving significant amount of miles. Did you hear anyone say about it?
I have heard that. How long has it been going on? Sometimes they work themselves out. If it persists I would take it in. Could just need a fluid change.

Is it a good idea to tint the rear windshield very dark? How would it affect the camera? What would be the darkest to tint my rear window without affecting the view of my camera at night?
You can tint it as dark as you’d like. It won’t effect the camera at all since the camera is located on the outside by the license plate and displayed on the display. What I have found is helpful if you go dark is to get some nice white reverse lights. They really light up the road behind you.

Yeah you can. In the settings. It really only brightens up the display though but will help.

Yeah the picture is really clear surprisingly. I thought it would be grainy but it’s not. Now at night it’s pretty useless

Not sure I understand what you mean. You can change lanes and the pic is super clear. You just have to get used to it. It’s a little awkward when you glance at it.
Ive got a 2020 accord hybrid with the base non-touch head unit - can I still do this? I don’t have a home button. Also wondering if I can do the automatic parking break release hack with this model.
I think you can but I forget the exact sequence. Try searching for lx model since I believe it’s the same. Also as long as you can set the parking park to automatically apply then it will disengage by itself.

I know. I hate that. So far there isn’t a way to change it. I don’t know why they programmed it like that.

Hey Jon, have you had any oil/gasoline problems? I've seen a couple articles/videos about the engine might have a problem.
I haven’t yet. I’m keeping an eye on everything. I’m sure Honda will fix it when they find the solution.

Do you recommend the screen protector and if so, where'd you get it? Does it mess with the sensitivity of the touch screen?
I had one I got from amazon. It’s was great and didn’t mess with the sensitivity. You can also adjust the sensitivity level if you need. One thing I will say is that if you go to take it off be careful because it will most likely shatter when you try to remove it.

My first oil change was free. Purchasing my 2018 Accord Touring from this particular dealership gives everyone the first oil and filter change for free. They also send out coupons monthly for a 34.95, full synthetic oil and filter change.

Honda Jon I like being able to watch if a bike or pedestrian was up along side my car or off to the right...I liked the lane watch more than I like the blind spot monitor system....such is life I guess

I noticed you said it works on all 10th gen models, but is it confirmed to work on the non touch screen displays that come with the LX models?
Yes it works on that too. Just push volume button and numbers 1 and 6 and it will take you to the same screen 👍🏻

why in the diagnostic screen does it show gps satellites picking up when they say that the 1.5 does not have gps . If it does indeed have gps why wouldnt it be able to have navigation also. Seems like it could be done in software

No. Once you turn the car off or push a button it goes back to the normal mode. It’s a cool little trick
Just want to make sure your wheel is straight when you exit the screen, this is used to align the back up camera guidelines. If your wheel is cranked all the way to one side when you leave this setting, then when you go to back up next time, the guidelines will be way off. It will think "centered" is when your wheel is cranked all the way to the direction it was turned when you left this screen.

Alll you need is a jailbroken phone and you can.
Honda Jon it’s a tweak called NGX play, which is free. And then there is another one called Carbridge

Honda Jon no as long as the iOS version supports the jailbreak. For my 6 plus on iOS 12.4.4 I used CheckRain, but for my 11 I used unc0ver. Just remember while you use it to make sure your safe, driving is more important than crashing. Also the hack works on any car, not just Accord, it just needs to have CarPlay enabled.

I have the same brand from Amazon. It’s really good. Highly recommended. For perfect alignment make sure to use the taped hinge method to apply. If it’s slightly off center, you can really notice it’s on there. If it’s perfectly aligned, it’s almost invisible.

Honda Jon it's the same as the newer Accords except that it's missing the right knob and the clock, phone, radio, and source buttons. I'm not sure how to go into the diagnostics screen without the source button lol

Honda Jon no. They’re all touch buttons. It’s a 2017 so everything is touch and it has the volume slider

Yes you can. Sequence will differ on whether you have the 2016-18 touch buttons Vs 2019 physical buttons.

Sadly I'm thinking about returning my 2020 Sport, I have been having so many issues out of it. Only has 4500 and I have taken back to the dealership several times already

It has an oil leak and the hood flutters
One of my previous accords had an oil leak. They fixed it and never any issues with it. They’ll put a dye in the oil to see where it’s leaking from. Common issues with the head gasket. I wouldn’t let that discourage you.
The hood flutter is something most will do due to the aluminum hoods

It’s easy. Watch my video on it. The most important part is the size. Make sure it does not exceed the maximum resolution. You can put whatever picture you would like 👊🏼

I tried this hack for my Honda Accord hold the volume plus 1-6 after it gives you a list of commands like system,audio,display,camera,connection ,vehicle connection but what do you press after the commands show on the display? My accord is a base model no touch screen.

Law enforcement needs to be alerted to this hack. Makes it easier and less conspicuous for the bad guys to watch the police approaching.
