Thanks for posting. This filmclip was made in Little Hay Street in Haymarket Sydney. My then, next door neighbour, Rod Allan was the producer or director. He's the guy who comes through the door with the gun. My brother and I are the two teenagers at the window. It was fun to be part of but there was a lot of sitting around waiting while they got the next shot ready. I remember they played the track on a small tape recorder while Angry sang along and a make up artist "aged" him during the day.
Always loved this track but knew it would never be a hit considering what was all over the radio at the time. Still have the single. Saw them do it live back then, wish they’d do it live now.
Even though it wasn't the original line-up (was there ever a original line-up in Rose Tattoo???) but I loved and still love the album 'Southern Stars'. Yes, it's different but has a lot of great catchy riffs and great tracks.
my favourite Rose Tattoo song. A classic in many different ways as there is a story behind the song too. It's not just another loud angry rock band with an axe to grind. Not preaching just saying. Some people out there don't get or understand rock and roll which saddens me.
Agreed. I loved this song when it came out, i still have the 6inch single, i knew it was a special song then as a kid, now i realise how much it actually is, it definitely brings out a tear or 2 in this old man now.
Certainly remember this track. I recall it receiving a reasonable amount of airplay amongst a lot of 80s "radio friendly" material on an Adelaide commercial FM station. And listen to Angry A. back then with his broad social-justice callings . . . pity he's now morphed into a self-proclaimed born-again Conservative. Anyway, this track has remained in the mind for 25 years-plus, so thanks for the upload.
Funny how time can change the meaning of song lyrics. The "Tribesmen of Afghanistan" Angry sings about - the Afghan Rebels! - morphed into the modern day Taliban.
Wrong , Back then the "Tribesmen" where the Mujaheddin fighting against the Invading Russian COMMUNIST SOVIET UNION , After the Soviet retreat there was a 10 Years Civil War between the Northern Alliance - Mujaheddin against the Radical Religious Taliban .
The world has always been like this. It's just that modern technology now brings it home to us no matter where we live. So instead of being hidden by the tyranny of distance, it is exposed and will give us an opporunity to create an Age of Enlightenment instead.
Great oldskool sound! AWESOME band, one of my favorite videos by these guys.

Great image!
I should say, the BAR scene was in Little Hay Street.

And I wish there was something I could say. Something to say to end war and all its bullshit.😞😢

Does anyone think that the world is like this now? History has a terrible habit of repeating.
Are we about to enter a new Dark Age?🤔😕😞

@RaTeDRKOdwyer94 Rose Tattoo are coming to my town in Oct, got the tickets today, can't wait.
@angurisloud so true mate...U2 would of had a instant classic and best sellier on their hands.
This song shoud have been huge!!
This mix is better than the album. The drums are deeper and you can here the slide coming in at 3.08. The album sounds weaker.
Thanks for watching.
Zajebiste w chuj!
That aged well tribesman in Afghanistan or freedom in poland via eu backed WE
What album is this song off?
Southern Stars is the album. The title track "Southern Stars" is a good song too.
See Greg Googy?
Yeh what a champion!!!
I think this song is so cool and that guns and roses borrowed sampled or stole the riff to their sweet child of mine
Southern Stars. Great album.
Before Tiananmen
