When I went from an "older welder" to a synergic welder my life drastically improved. Getting "dialed in" used to suck huge @##. I love these more modern welders that make life easy.
I am very surprised… I have a sheet metal project on the model t and I can’t wait to see how much the fine tuning improves the process of welding the thin ancient metal
@@betweenthesharksgarage I wish HTP or Fronius would send you a unit. It would blow your mind how freaking good those units are. I grew up on Lincoln and Miller Units my whole life. I am now a solid HTP or Fronius snob. Also you need to get some time using a laser rust remover. You would love it.
I'm going to be very interested in the follow up. won't have a welding area for another year, so, VERY helpful. at 72 new hobbies don't always come easily. (Still have all my eyes, ears, fingers and toes.) This would be a great find for me. Thanks. You also sold me on the mini-excavator!.
I will keep up with it... I am going to use it from what i have seen it is great and would be great for someone new at it... if it holds up... i really hope it does
Dude, I felt extremely lucky about that. Honestly I was thinking about your set up I was like man if this thing works it’s perfect for AJ In the sense of size efficiency. I also have a ton of equipment And recently bought that best arc. But trying this machine is generally change my opinion multipurpose machines. My first impressions are the benefits outweigh the risks
@@betweenthesharksgarage yeah, it would save me some serious space. I went and checked to see I’d I could return the plasma cutter I bought and turns out the return window just closed so I guess I’ll stay the course for awhile.
Have the same bestarc plasma cutter going on two years now it’s a great machine I cut 1/4 and 3/8 a lot no problem. The simder seams like a lot of bang for the buck.
I am also pleased with the bestarc. I’ve got the “luxury”package on the way. And that includes a spool gun that’s super affordable and tig pedal so I want to see what else this thing and do.
Seems to work quite well mate, it should treat you well at the new house and be able to tackle the jobs you throw at it. Most of the little inverter units you get these days do pretty good 👍🏼
Daughter is on her 2nd one less than a year. Over 3 weeks and simder is not responding to problem the high frequency start went out. Ignoring all her emails now even though it's under warrenty, 3 weeks ! Beware of simder. I will update if they respond
Man i work on welding repairs and i can tell you these die hard miller, lincoln, esab fans are in for a rude awakening. When you open all of them you get a nice asiany surprise. None of their machines are made in the US its just assembled. Literally alot of these nicer amazon welders are made in the same factories or their competitors.
that is interesting... i have just stuck with transformer machines because they have been so reliable(for my personal equipment)... i remember when the first autoset millers came out and we had them at work and eventually they would need repair and we would fall back on simple machines. So this is my first inverter... i am stunned how much i like it. the fine tuning is great... we will see about the longevity of the machine, but out of the box, it is a great welder.
I was shocked at how well it did. I’m really curious how well it will hold up because if it does it’s a great machine. It’s I have some pretty strong biases, so I was pleased to get the opportunity
How can you say junk? Junk is something that breaks easy or doesn't perform these machines will give you 8 to 10 years and the welds are very nice technology is moving so fast plasma is new and laser is already here no need for 20 years old machine

Awesome review, thanks.

Dang, wish they’d send me one to review! If I hadn’t just bought a plasma cutter I’d seriously consider getting one for myself. Good review Ryan!

@@betweenthesharksgarage be interesting to see a follow up video after you have given it some good use and if it still meets expectations 👍🏼

I think those new inverter based welders are more similar to a car amplifier since it doesn't use a large heavy transformer.
that is an interesting thought
I can't seem to find your video for running 220V.
i just did a small bit welding the 1/4 angle iron together... it preformed very well. the thing works like a champ

@@betweenthesharksgarage yeah lincoln and hobart still make some transformer based units which are decent aswell just heavy as heck for sure.
Amazing how china junk works now days. My brother bot a century harbor frieght welder 31 years ago still use it alot. Great video
