@@bfelinemaximus I use koken daily in the heavy industry. 15 years, haven't had to warranty anything other than tor impact bits. No issue with getting them warrantied

Lmfao can tell you know nothing about Northern automotive work. I love seeing people like you who think it's always sunshine and rainbows because you watched a few shows based in Cali and Florida.
I've had the same two ratchets for years, one is an S-K and the other is a snapon. Have been thinking about updating and getting another complete socket set. Will definitely be looking at Ko-Ken. Thanks Guys.
😂 yea we have such great music down under that is never recognised around the world. I love watching reaction videos of people discovering John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes and Matt Colby and being like "these are the great vocalist in the world" and they are only just now learning about them some 30-40years later (except matt).
The first koken I bought was a 1/2 inch ratchet, like a normal length on and a 1/2 inch extension set. Iv used those extensions on rattle guns, as punches, on torque wrenches doing massive torque. Never failed me in 20years. I use my Koken oven my snap on for my ratchet as well, iv used a cheater bar on it and its never failed. I love them
Koken do what they do better than anyone on the planet imo and a handy tip on those nut grip sockets, if you take the 3450m which is a 3/8” dr koken shallow 17mm. You can use the 17mm nut grip to hold any of the 3/8 Astro nano sockets fit in there and pro tip if you put the tiny detent ball in the socket on the flat The ball deep at all in a ratchet with waiting to get hold it better when you get a semi deep nano or a deep with the deeps etc
That little multi set looks awesome and that case is about the same size as my current Wera set I use daily , I’d consider switching to that one since it has the hex heads. I don’t do mechanic work I’m an industrial electrician but I’m glad I found this channel. Always watch these and learn quite a bit !
I glad Ko-ken is getting out there i swapped from snap on a few years back in my experience just as good some are even better and the price weights less on the pockets I'd prefer to run American made but snap on prices at this point are almost a scam.
Yep every time I opened the catalog I couldn’t help but laugh first and then just insulted about how much they think I could afford for tools. I’ve been buying Japanese for the last 2 years just to spite them…
😮almost? Down right criminal..it should be illegal to charge 5times more .even if there open wrenches are best. Its way to much..they should make fastners better instead
In the market for new 1/2 and 3/8 impacts, snap on is just too expensive to justify for these so koken has caught my eye and as a result I might end up buying a fair bit more than that in the future!
My favourite thing about the man on the moon argument is that it was well documented that pretty much all of the important calculations were done in metric @16:50
My favorite part was when he asked off the top of your head the two sizes, standard sizes 9/32 15/16 stuff like that I instantly knew because we started doing those conversions as soon as fractions were taught in America many schools add rulers into math class it makes more sense
I use my 3/8 drive in a 1/4 frame every day. It almost eliminates the need for having 1/4 drive sockets and ratchet out on the repair job. I can use my 3/8 sockets for hose clamps and other small headed fasteners without the larger handle of the normal 3/8 ratchet.
Koken tools have been around 20+ years in New Zealand.. All the older mechanics will definitely have some.. They definitely make quality tools every bit as good as Snap-on if not better. I highly recommend there stuff 👌
I have mostly snapon tools 15k plus juat tools leave the box alone, i can say been a heavy diesel mechanic for 17years koken is no joke id choose koken sockets over any other sockets and ratchet there damm good
A 50mm deep (I use one from sunex) will save you quite a bit of time changing out the female quick coupler on a CAT skidsteer. They have a shroud around them on occasion for lack of a better word that make it difficult to get a wrench on them. These are the couplers that thread directly into the manifold on the arm not the the type you can thread adapters in and out of like on the work tools.
I loved those rails for the truck but they always brake driving into the rock quarries you know how nice they keep the roads shut breaks the tabs off all the time so I dropped the coin on the VIM magnetic rails for all my sockets never knock over or broken yet
The thing about back drag is just clip a coil or two on the detent spring pushing on the pawl and use synthetic oil instead of grease and Boom! less backdrag. Gunsmiths and armorers do this daily
One of my colleague calls regular 6 point bolts external allens. He used to work on english shitboxes that had quite a lot of allen bolts and now we work on mercedes, which have a lot of external torx bolts.

Something I learned working for a global manufacturer; In Japan they do not advertise based on quality. They believe in the highest quality manufacturing principles and production standards. I never knew Ko-Ken was manufactured there. I’m sure I will be adding them to my box soon.

Koken makes possibly the strongest best quality sockets and other tools ever made. But there older ratchets before the z series ratchets tooth counts were too low for auto and motorcycle mechanics. Literally all of my koken sockets, ratchets, and other miscellaneous stuff has all been purchased from Amazon Japan for much much less. I just got in a couple ratchets last week actually. I paid $76 per ratchet, but on the Koken USA website, they are nearly $160 a piece. Granted, the koken USA stuff comes with a warranty, but I don't break my tools very often. If something does break, it's the anvil or a single socket, which costs $25 for a rebuild kit or $8 to $12 for a replacement socket. Their sockets are hands down the best I've ever seen or used. The only gripe I have is with their ratchets. I wish they used a set screw that can be tightened instead of a pin through the yoke on their flex heads.
