The Panther’s determination to send off Fisher-Harris, Luai and Turuva off with one last premiership will definitely make this game a thrill. Up the Panthers🔥🔥🔥
A Penrith 4peat. Almost unbelievable. If you look at competitive top level league across different sports, a 4peat is something that as good as never happens. It is next to impossible to pull that off in a competitive environment. And even if they lose, 5 consecutive GFs still. This raises the question, are the Panthers just so insanely good, or is there something wrong with the NRL? Or did just a lot go the Panthers’ way? Probably a bit of all three. One way or the other. This Penrith era needs to be studied. One of the greatest dynasties in sports history.
What we’ve seen is a club with one of the biggest junior bases in the NRL finally take advantage of that junior base. That’s how they’ve been able to regenerate the way they have. It’s a club with the organisational calibre of the Storm + Roosters, but with a junior base. Pair that with the greatest player of the modern generation at halfback, and you’ll definitely get long lasting success.
@@TheLeaguie Forgive me my ignorance of the specifics of player recruitment in the NRL, but I do I understand it correct that it is comparable to that of European soccer? You have academies and feeder clubs right? Penrith is a club from a region with probably the highest density/number of Rugby League talent. By saying they have a big junior base, do they not have a structural advantage over other NRL clubs? I mean, looking at the talent they acquired and developed, it’s insane. Is changing the laws regarding talent acquisition not up for discussion?
@@LomuHabana No worries at all - you are correct. It’s definitely an imbalance that Penrith have a massive, prosperous junior area, while other clubs don’t. But that being said - there’s much more to success as a club. The tigers have a massive junior base too. The storm and roosters have no junior bases. For that reason, it’s not a priority
@@TheLeaguie As an outsider. Someone with no horse in the race, honestly, this season reminded me more of what I used to watch in European soccer. Very predictable, two teams completely dominating the rest. And it was no incident. Those teams have been dominant forces for years. As I said, a 4peat is “not supposed to happen”. It would be a different story if it was close, but Penriths record and how they dominated over the last years blows you away. For me, it was quite boring, certainly the finals series. I had a lot of time this year but I don’t know if I’ll follow the NRL to the same extend when I am more busy IF this is what I have to expect. If I were in charge I would at least look at possible changes. This is not good advertisement for the NRL. But nothing to take away from Penrith. Massive club on every level. Nathan Cleary probably the greatest League footballer of all time at this point. His significance for the Panthers is comparable to that of Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs. Privileged to see him play. Together with Ivan the best father and son combination I have witnessed. Anyways, looking forward to the internationals now. Cheers.
@@LomuHabana I definitely don't disagree, but I'm not sure there is a realistic fix. To me, the biggest issue is a lack of coaching talent. I don't think it's a shock to see Bellamy, Cleary and Robinson finish in the top 3. There are up and coming coaches, like Craig Fitzgibbon, Cam Ciraldo and Andrew Webster. But it'll take a while before they reach that level. Players will always take unders to play for the best coaches, and I'm not sure we can solve that
Agree 100% with your comments. I think the Panthers machine will click into grind mode and slowly breakdown the storm with their mental toughness. I think Leota is an awesome forward, so underrated, who will shine again for Penrith. Cleary feels he has a debt to repay to his team after missing so much football this year and will rise to the big the occasion. Missing the Origin success this year has also lit a fire in his belly. This will be the best GF we have seen since Cowboys V Broncos. Strap in Leaguie you are gonna witness history being made this Sunday!
As a Panthers fan since 1980 (long before they started winning with any regularity!), I'd love to see "my" boys take it home again. But I suspect the Storm might just have what it takes to win this one. Not by much, but I think they'll do it.
Yeah no that was intentional. There technically was a ‘salary cap’ in place back then, but it wasn’t ever enforced to any meaningful level. I suppose it would’ve been more right to say they were the first club under the salary cap to go back to back… but obviously then it starts to sound like a ‘salary sombrero’ joke 😂
I reck 2020s arev1980s 1980 bulldogs 2020 storm parra 81 to 83 panthers 21 to 23 n eela vs bulldogs bullds stops eels 4 peat n now 2024 storm vs panthers
Still got the worst ever record in the WCC though...if you want to beat them just get them to play the SuperLeague champions😂😂😂 - they cant handle the free flowing game that SuperLeague clubs play.
Can the Panthers make it a whopping FOUR IN A ROW on Sunday? 💚

5:06 Clip that. Get that verdict ready for next year.
I’d love to be wrong about that. How good would a tigers resurgence be!
Don’t forget Liam Martin
Hey leaguie, awesome stuff as always. Love your content
Thanks Buggy! Appreciate your support as always mate

Cannot wait! Obviously I don’t want to hype it up too much before a ball has been kicked… but this feels like one of the greats
Panthers are going to there 4th in a row
Great video I think Penrith will win never doubt Penrith
Agree completely. Anyone who doubts them is braver than I am
Unless they are playing a SuperLeague club of course 😂😂
ngl your my favourite nrl youtuber
You clearly have incredible taste in nrl UA-camrs 🫡
panthers to win
I think panthers can min but it will be very close
UP THE PANTHERS 🐆🐆

...but I'm happy to have been wrong! Heehee.
I think panthers are too strong in grand finals but Bellamy is the best coach I've seen
This will be their most difficult grand final since they played Melbourne 2020, given the quality of their opposition
Panthers 4peat 🔥😘
Hopefully Penrith get it done😂
You can simply never doubt Nathan Cleary. He’s the greatest I’ve ever seen
Yeah I agree he is the reason for the club’s success
Also I swear I said the same thing about the eels beating panthers twice
But panthers beat grand final
So nice point leaguie
Melbourne is just too clinical, too well coached, and is better in the backline
very epic video
That Bulldogs joke was painful. No one is saying the same about the Tigers
Don’t worry - I shit on the Tigers all the time here (with love and respect) 🤝🏻
UP DA PANTHERS 🐆🐆🐆
(Never a thing i thought I'd say)
Panthers win 20-0
*since the broncos in 92 and 93 on your back to back salary cap era point.

Gonna be an epic game on Sunday. I don’t care who wins as long as we see a cracking match
wait,so you still think storm will win?
Nah. Originally I tipped Storm. But with Nelson now out, I do think that changes things for me
@@TheLeaguie gotcha👍
Storm Will Win By 8 Points.
Strom wins this one...at least I hope so. Sick of Penrith winning all the time!
Blue name in live please
I’m closing off new mods atm - just because I’ve already got more than enough. But definitely not ruling out more in future!

Every time a super league club beats an NRL club, Rugby League wins
