    Dave here, grew up in Sydney, living in Fukuoka…long time. So glad you went to Marrickville Pork Roll. Went there GW 2023, main shop in Marrickville, didn’t know what to order…the guy in front of me ordered, “Pork crackling + Chilli”, I just repeated, and ordered the same…was amazing!!

    must say there are not many places in the world where you can eat so many different style of foods and all of them are authentic and delicious... pie, pork roll, sushi roll, kebab, burgers, roti... but i think what's missing is Messina gelato.... oh and across from the Emperor puff there's a Taiwanese shop, their fry stick wrapped in spring onion pancake so good... add a bowl of hot soy milk

      I am a Canadian who has lived here in Australia since 2013 and the only place I know (I've tried many places) that does 'that stir-fry wok taste' like Canada Asian take out/eat in does. Australian's have a funny saying what take-out is: Silly 'Take- Away' saying. Australian's have no idea what is "true wok' is. They think they do, but they don't. No other take out does tastes like this in Sydney. It is on the 2nd floor Hornsby Mall and its the the Asian stir-fry the very center in the sit down area, and right directly across from KFC. So for any North American's coming to Hornsby for a day visit when you come off the train and to walk out of the turnstyles, turn left, and then to walk down to the outside mall (where you see numerous shops - eg: 'Chemist' meaning Pharmacy, etc) and pass the water-themed clock with a water fall) and you see 2 doors: one to your right and left of the mall. Choose left. Come to the escalators, go up to the 2nd floor where the food court is, look to your left past the Juice Stand, where you will see McDonald's and KFC is, and it is that Asian stir-fry place among the seating.

    The honeycomb in your matcha latte looks like honeycomb toffee, which should be pretty easy to DIY for the latte. Basically, a hot mix of sugar and honey or similar syrup gets puffed up with the addition of bicarbonate of soda.

    • @Korynthian
      @Korynthian Рік тому +1

      Yes it is. More expensive than it was 5 or even 10 years ago. But the way I was looking at it, is the US dollar (that's where I am) is worth 50 cents more than the Australian Dollar. So something that is 10 dollars in Australia is 6.50 in USD. So it depends on where you live and how the exchange rates are at the time.
      Either way all the food looks good. Have a great day.

    I actually work around the corner from Railway Square so I'm going to try a couple of these, maybe the lamb wrap and the bao burger. I've walked past there many times. I had a banh-mi yesterday for $8 from another place down the street and it was okay, but it was lacking the soy sauce flavour. The best Banh-mi is out in the suburbs. Spice Alley restaurants are pretty good taste wise for most places, but I found the portion sizes for the price could've been better.
