- Shanmukhi Mudra is a Yogic hand gesture that represents the closing of the six gates of perception. The term comes from the Sanskrit word 'Shan' which means Six, 'Mukhi' meaning Face and 'Mudra' meaning Gesture. Shanmukhi mudra is usually practised for 5 to 7 minutes prior to meditation or to calm your senses and go inwards.

So wonderful. Clear, precise and easy to formulate ... I never even knew about this mudra until recently and I've been teaching yoga for almost 5 years!
Yoga is awlays surpising with ever new and beautiful facets of its teeaching. Bless you Rashmi, and bless the Spirit of Yoga and of all those millions of practitioners from the past, that gave their lives to develop this magical knolwedga for us to heal,enjoy and share. For me the Shanmukhi Mudra with Rashmi relaxed my entire body after a hard day at work, especially neck area. Have anyone else notices something of the kind or other bodily sensation?

hi, thanks for the video) when is the better time to do this breath? Before or after yoga? And before or after which other breathing exercises (bhramari, kapalabhati etc) ?
You can do it after kapalabhati and either before or after your practice is fine

Came here from the daily pranayama video! (LOveed it btw sis) Just wanted to ask , Is it normal to start sneezing after shanmukhi mudra? i had to do shavasana with a blocked nose afterwords too :(... Any tips to avoid this?
No it is not normal to start sneezing. It could be that you are allergic to something. Best to get it checked with a doctor.

No you need to have a gap of atleast 2 to 2.5 hours
