The Ork vs Necron battle report is what convinced me to start playing 40k. 4,000 points of Necrons later and I still love my space Egyptians.

@@mr.mammuthusafricanavus8299 actually, the Tau having a leader caste after devastating civil wars sounds eerily similar to what Necrons did with biotransference and control protocols. And they have a very short lifespan as well. Plus, they are as naïve with other races as the necrontyr were with the C'tan when they first met, or when they asked for the Old Ones to kindly show them the path to immortality
Michael is so soft spoken, almost shy. So the “Egyptians in Space” bit hit me like a left hook

Not that I don't like the idea (especially for a Destroyer Cult) but it's sort of a bad idea considering all of the ork spores they would be spreading all over place. Sort of like a landscaper wearing dandelion seeds to work. :)

@@B__C__ Naw, that's the beauty of it. Flayed Ones always need to find new victims, because their meat loot keeps rotting. But if they spread spores wherever they go, they spawn new people to flay. An endless supply of meat.

Never played fantasy but it's still a shame they nuked the world and dumped out cool stuff like the tomb kings.

I am completely new to warhammer. After watching Tau Nick I took the plunge to start a Tau army! Wish me luck!

What an awesome army. It is nice to see a splash of color on Necron armor panels.
The void dragon is the model that made me start collecting my necrons! Love that model so much.
Plus with necrons in the starter set they are quite cheap in comparison to other armies

Excellent episode. Love this lore-heavy and personal history format. I always considered the phenomenon of WH40k as primarily lore driven. I never played the game but when I was in college I posted above my bed a sheet from the Black Templars codex with the quote 'For those who seek perfection, there is no rest this side of the grave'. Thank you guys, your channel is awesome.
Yeah, I've often felt Warhammer (all forms, even AoS though I'm very unfamiliar with that and prefer Fantasy) are very much lore driven
The Infinite and the Divine is actually one of the best 40k books, i have ever red. The humor is great. It's like oceans eleven with necrons.

As a Necron player myself this has inspired me to invest more in them
Necrons didnt visually grab me but they are a faction where the more I know the more I love them. There lore ranges from a a virus that makes them wear the flayed flesh of their enemies as they malfunction in their understanding of the flesh tranfurance to old man who doesnt know he is a robot tries to eat food and everything inbetween. Necron players are so free to define their army however they please. Badass army for sure.

I have recently got back into necrons after a 15 year hiatus. And one thing I am really dying to get is the monolith because that was my teenage years' dream when I was broke. Nice army here though! Its really beautifully painted and its really fun to hear your army's story Michael!

I’m building a ghost ark now and I gotta say the look really bugs me, thinking about doing a bit of conversion so it’s upside down like the doomsday ark but the guys inside are hanging down like they’re in racks

Pin it!! Mine was a nightmare to put together. I have foregone adding the guass flayed array but I managed to get the ghost ark to stay together by pinning it with a piece of a coat hangar
I magnetized mine so I can flip it to use as either kind of Ark. I left out the Warriors because I like the look of the empty Transport

I just finished listening to the new Necron book The Twice-Dead King on my audible trial. Good stuff. The shoulders on that Necron army are on-point. I want to know what stuff he went with to fill.
I do like the new lore, I struggled with it initially I will admit, but it's grown on me now.

LOL One of my first games was my Space Marine with a Plasma rifle vs OG Necron. I rolled bad and killed my own Marine with hot plasma...years later the Tau came out and I was like,'' No wounds from plasma overheat, sign me up!'' #MasterOfThePlasma

Love the paint job! Nihilakh Dynasty hasn't let me down. My LFGS everyone goes Mephrit or Novokh and looks down on my waves of blue and gold. When I beat my last opponent by not letting them get any primary points by the end of turn 3 (opponent conceded at that point) they started to respect them :)

The Flayed ones are pretty cool fluff wise... not only are they cursed, but the other Necron believe it is contagious and some Lords will not use them but they just show up to "protect their brothers" sometimes :D

We definitely should have thought of that! Unfortunately, the 40k in 40m games you see on our channel are typically shot about 1 to 1.5 months in advance of release because of the editing and work put into them. Something to consider for 2022 though!

I think between the old necrons and the new necrons hasn't actually changed much lorewise, just someday a huge army of silent, Immortal deathrobots appear and start to kill Everything. some of Them may have their hands switched with blades, but over all, the appearance to the outside only Changes when the higher necrons Communicate which non-necrons

I reckon a tau army with tau styled necrons would be cool because if some overlords do diplomacy with other factions then at some point there could be a necromancy army that joined the tau and there are already humans in tau armies

Awesome video, love the colors and the dynasty love. One point of note, based on my math the army in front of you should be a lot closer to 3900-4200 points. I too collect necrons and I personally posses roughly 8.5 - 9k points in necrons. I totally get that you probably misspoke and were referring to you entire army and not the gorgeously painted ones in front of you. Keep up the painting and the amazing work. Hail Watson and Hail Necrons!!!

I’ve always been interested in warhammer, and necron seem really awesome. Are necron relatively beginner friendly army to build around?
They're pretty easy to use, but not super-powerful unless you get some very specific units.

"I'm been currently going through the entire Gaunt's Ghosts series". There's a gap in the Audible series. Books 7 "Sabbat Martyr" to Book 12 "Blood Pact". I'm impatiently waiting for Book 7.

It'll probably never happen but I'd love if you could do this style of video for Age of Sigmar. Its really good now, 1st edition was a long time ago and the newer models are SOOOO cool.
