No, you see, the necron overlords are essentially kings, and they rule tomb worlds! It's totally intended! Never played fantasy but it's still a shame they nuked the world and dumped out cool stuff like the tomb kings.

The void dragon is the model that made me start collecting my necrons! Love that model so much. Plus with necrons in the starter set they are quite cheap in comparison to other armies
Necrons didnt visually grab me but they are a faction where the more I know the more I love them. There lore ranges from a a virus that makes them wear the flayed flesh of their enemies as they malfunction in their understanding of the flesh tranfurance to old man who doesnt know he is a robot tries to eat food and everything inbetween. Necron players are so free to define their army however they please. Badass army for sure.

I’m building a ghost ark now and I gotta say the look really bugs me, thinking about doing a bit of conversion so it’s upside down like the doomsday ark but the guys inside are hanging down like they’re in racks

I have recently got back into necrons after a 15 year hiatus. And one thing I am really dying to get is the monolith because that was my teenage years' dream when I was broke. Nice army here though! Its really beautifully painted and its really fun to hear your army's story Michael!

I think between the old necrons and the new necrons hasn't actually changed much lorewise, just someday a huge army of silent, Immortal deathrobots appear and start to kill Everything. some of Them may have their hands switched with blades, but over all, the appearance to the outside only Changes when the higher necrons Communicate which non-necrons

We definitely should have thought of that! Unfortunately, the 40k in 40m games you see on our channel are typically shot about 1 to 1.5 months in advance of release because of the editing and work put into them. Something to consider for 2022 though!
The Flayed ones are pretty cool fluff wise... not only are they cursed, but the other Necron believe it is contagious and some Lords will not use them but they just show up to "protect their brothers" sometimes :D
I reckon a tau army with tau styled necrons would be cool because if some overlords do diplomacy with other factions then at some point there could be a necromancy army that joined the tau and there are already humans in tau armies
Love the paint job! Nihilakh Dynasty hasn't let me down. My LFGS everyone goes Mephrit or Novokh and looks down on my waves of blue and gold. When I beat my last opponent by not letting them get any primary points by the end of turn 3 (opponent conceded at that point) they started to respect them :)
I’d love to know how that verdigris job was done. Also, the first Necron minis were in 2nd Edition, not Rogue Trader, but I’m being pedantic (1st ever reference in lore was in Gorkamorka).

I too collect necrons and I personally posses roughly 8.5 - 9k points in necrons. From what I have read/watched, the reason that the Necrons went into a slumber was because the galaxies that they had conquered were completely devastated and provided nothing, so they went to sleep in order to allow the planets to regrow from the death and destruction. Yeah, I've often felt Warhammer (all forms, even AoS though I'm very unfamiliar with that and prefer Fantasy) are very much lore driven

The Infinite and the Divine is actually one of the best 40k books, i have ever red. The humor is great. It's like oceans eleven with necrons.

I magnetized mine so I can flip it to use as either kind of Ark. I left out the Warriors because I like the look of the empty Transport
