Not entirely sure I have, actually. I'll look into it! One of my favorite tracks
😊😊😊
I have! Your channel is the best! Keep it up.
So then if I happen to run into you, I can say hello Mr Acts Weird? 😆
Is there a Little stapleton43 in our future 16:07
It would be very interesting to see the chassis of the 66 Charger. That is some old school raw torque and horse power there. So many LEGEND cars side by side.
The Charger is a replica...misrepresented. But a replica none the less.
Darlington is my home racetrack not far from where I grew up in Charleston. Been a NASCAR fan since early 80's but it wasn't until the 1989 Darlington Southern 500 that I sat down and actually watched an entire race from flag to flag, Dale Sr won that day after a pretty dominant run then he won the next 2 races at Darlington after that. I was watching that day back in 1992 hoping Davey would win the million BUT the rains came & ruined his day. Always enjoy going there to see NASCAR racing when-ever I am back home & have been in that museum every time...
Thanks man! Glad you’re here
Huge thumbs up👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍to you for another great NASCAR history video, appreciate it and you guys both!
Just now getting in here to watch this video, but I'm there with you! Thank you so much!
Thank you mark!
The 1988-92ish Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme is one of my all time favorite race car bodies. NASCAR, NHRA, Trans Am.
I agree!
I remember when Bill won the million dollars back in the day. That's a fantastic museum!
I love visiting the museum in Darlington. Lots of history 👏🏼
Did you notice all the sand pitting on the windshield of the Welborn 57 Chevy Convertible?
Also, loved the 'rat eaten drivers suit'!
Great post, as always!!
As always, I love your videos. The passion you show for preserving the history of the sport is second to none. We can’t forget where we came from, even though so many want to. Again, thank you.
Her wearing that Mark Martin shirt. Good lord 😍. You’re living the life Stapleton, keep it up!
I was wondering who did those great portraits, and lo and behold, it was Jeanne Barnes. what a great job she did on those.
Excellent presentation of this museum.
They are fantastic portraits
The Harmonic thing on the dash in Cale's 29 car was put in his car to hold his sticks of chewing gum!
Interesting!
Quite a museum!!! Thanks for the tour--I'm off to watch the track video. BTW, nice progress on the race car. Can't wait to see the segment in Ron's garage!!! Thx!!
Great video Mitch, I got lucky enuff to get to the museum right B4 they wer' closing on an off season day. Loved your comment on being weird if caught off guard. That's why I follow you, your honest and realistic.keep up the great work, your the best, non -driver NASCAR content out there. I know you drive, but hopefully u know what I mean. 👍
I ,love all the stuff you guys do. I lived in Charlotte back in 1975 and worked on a project close to DARLINGTON. I toured the old museum and remember all the cheaters parts they had on display. A lot has changed since then and I need to tour that place again. Thanks again for all the work you put in to these history videos that nobody else has done.
Thanks Rick!!
There are some nice cars there. I remember when Elliot won the million dollars. I watched it at home. Thanks for showing me a good time.
Glad you enjoyed it Larry!
2pm tomorrow, I will be working on a hexagonal tile floor. But at 6:30pm. I will be holding a cold Founders IPA, watching this video.
Heck yeah
@@Stapleton427:15 pm. Checking in with my Cold Founders IPA
I have to get to this museum so much history, and even model cars being a model builder I love it and being a nascar fan since birth it’s a must see
That is another amazing museum tour, I love all this history of NASCAR that you are able to find and all the people you interview. This is great to learn about the history of the sport I enjoy watching and how things evolved over the years and who the personalities were. Keep up the great work
Great video, that's for holding Cales chewing gum in the Hardee's car so he could reach over during cations for a fresh piece 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Really?
That Cale Yarborough Oldsmobile was a great looking race car! That was my favorite of his Hardee's schemes. This car and Bobby Allison's gold Miller sponsored Buick were two of the best paint schemes from 1988, at least IMO.
I wish you could do something about Chicagoland Speedway, my home track. I’ve gone to quite few races, ARCA, Busch, Craftsman (never Cup, unfortunately). Hate that it’s storage and sold to warehouses now, especially since it sounds like a decent amount of drivers appreciated it. Johnny Sauter burning it down after his 2002 Busch win, at 5 years old, is forever burned into my memory
You’re doin the lords work again here guys. This is absolutely phenomenal.
Keep talking to the stick, Mitch. You guys are the most valuable assets that NASCAR hasn’t hired yet. I could pick you guys out of a crowd and could never thank you enough for this channel.
Thank you very much 💪🏻
Such an interesting tour of the Darlington Raceway history. Thank you for sharing this.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That is such a cool museum. Thanks for the tour.
I've watched all of your videos. I started watching back when you were at Yellowbelly with the Candy man.
These are sooo cool . I love the body lines on the 70's and 80's cars and for me that brings back some amazing memories. I wish I would have been able to see these cars in person at a big track racing back in the day. Oh days gone by.
I’m From Spartanburg live in Greer now and was just there at the museum on the 10th headed to the beach for vacation, unfortunately it was closed. I brought all my vintage nascar shirts to pose with the cars (Phil parsons, Neil bonnett, Tim Richmond, Harry gant, Larry Pearson, David Pearson and so on) as I collect those shirts
My 1st race was the 85 southern 500... infeild camping was nuts back then for a 14 year old...the things i seen...
This is my home town and property is behind Darlington raceway track THE LADY IN BLACK back in the day they use to race to the southern 500 😢miss the good old days
Made it thru the whole video. I watched both Darlington videos. It was some really great content! Thanks, Mitchell and Logan! Can't wait till you drop the racecar build series.
Awesome! Thank you! It’s coming soon
Another excellent trip back in time. Thank you guys for keeping this going.
Our pleasure!
Another great video of one of the great places! I do hope you enjoy bringing the history of our sport back from obscurity! Thank you!
Thanks Matt!
Awesome video! I plan on seeing this in person!
Another great video Mitchell. Im excited to see your build series on your car. So cool Ron is willing to help you too. Can't wait to see it. Thanks again for all the efforts you put into these videos.
Thank you Travis!
Will have it on live but working on customer cars will certainly watch every minuet this evening
Right on! I’m working on my own car now actually
Love the video of the Darlington Museum, now I need to go find the other Darlington videos as well. Way too much time watching youtube, but recovering from a hip replacement so what better way to spend a hot June day!
Thank you Dave! Hope your recovery goes well and watching our videos sure would be great 😂
This was an awesome video, I got chills when it cranked! Great job. Looking forward to You working with Ron Hornaday!
Thanks man!

Yall are my favorite youtubers keep up the awesome work with out yall telling and showing and sharing nascar history and keeping it alive and that wat makes yall awesome youtubers
The cars and the paint schemes were off the charts back them. Greatest of times.
I love the Ford Nascars !!
I love your channel. It got me back into NASCAR and after seeing the Save Mart 350 last weekend I am hooked. See you at the races.
Thank you Bruce!!
I worked Darlington races from 1990 to 2004(SC Trooper working traffic). I knew that the museum was there but never realized how much history was in there. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy all your videos.
Mitchell, another winner! BTW, is there anybody in the Charlotte, Spartanburg, Mooresville area my brother Tim doesn't know? He's been that way his whole life. He never met a stranger as my Dad would say. I'm happy for him because he's working at GMS now restoring cars, in Bill Elliott's old Racing shop.
Tim is a legend 😂
I first went to The Joe Weatherly Stock Car Museum (at Darlington) in 1975 and it was set up way different than it is today. My last visit was probably around 1992 and it has changed a lot between those two times. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool!
I am glad you asked about the artist. Very talented. Very good High school friend actually drove a Hudson Jet. The Hudson Jet looked very compact compared to Hornet. We car pooled in that car starting college in 1969. Many fond memories in the Hudson Jet. Great video , Thanks Mitchell and Logan.
Sweet museum, can't wait for my trip in July!
You mentioned in earlier Darlington video who's gonna dare about old flag stand where you pointed it out it's very important. And I definitely care again I thank you for what you do !!!! I'm 42 and I absolutely love the history. Of nascar !!! Im short track guy did alot at my local short track. And I love the history of it also !!!
Thanks man!!
Brings back a lot of memories!
I Like NASCAR Generation 1 From The 50s Following By Generation 2 From The 70s And Generation 3 From The 80s And Early 90s Thanks For Uploading
Thank you Jeffrey
Man these videos are great! I was just watching this while rebuilding the carb on my 76 Triumph Spitfire. It was a little hard to focus on the carb itself with all the cool stuff going on in the video 😂
Thanks man!!
love these museum tours
Hi another outstanding work and video, keep up the great work cheers to you both, bless you
Thanks Ian we will!
Your amazing both of you, don't be so hard on yourself, your fans will always watch you, no matter what🏎🏎
This was awesome, also I totally understand being caught off guard, when I used to race dirt, and work at a university every so often people I had no idea who they were would come up to me, you’re Bryan you race even after the track closed for 3 or 4 years it would happen, now much less often I get recognized from my insta which is mostly just gardening on a scale some people consider a farm. The best response I’ve come up with is yes, yes I am, always nice to meet a fan or follower 😅.
I remember going to Darlington in the middle of the summer when I was like 14. They allowed us to walk on the track right before turn 3 by the towers. Somewhere I’ve got pictures of me laying on the track with my Jeff Gordon hat lol
Almost the same story for me and age , we were on our way to the beach
Another awesome video I’m from Darlington SC my granddad drove his semi around that track in the evenings to pack it down I was there for a lot of what was discussed in this video thanks again
Really love what you guys do!
Enjoyed Seeing Smokey’s hat and the replica Chevelle 🏁🏁🏁
I was a young Marine in 01'. Me and my dad went to the Southern 500 in September. We had an absolute blast, and Ward Burton won that race. I bought some of hus stuff from his merchandise hauler at the track. Meet some cool people in the parking lot after the rain storm
Awesome place with so much information. Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That harmonica looking thing was so that Cale could Hummm along in tune going around the track....LOL!!!
Awesome museum! Great job showing us around. I've been there maybe 15 years ago, and a lot has changed. Think my faves this time are the 57 Chevy and Million Dollar Bill's #9. When they were racing for that at Darlington they posted bodyguards in the pits.
They should put a picture of Gene in the beginning of the gallery to remember the one who drew so many and did so much for the Nascar community !
She should have her own display with the story I agree
Excellent work as usual. Well done you two!
Thanks man!
You're doing a great job of documenting the NASCAR history. It's awesome seeing details of each car. Great work.
Awesome Video!! Again Russell knocked it out of the park. His passion is second to none. I especially enjoyed Russell mentioning how Benny Parson's uniform had been
eaten up by rats and the front was still salvageable. Also enjoyed your request for "Accountability" by having names associated with the confiscated illegal parts. Keep up the good work!!
Hey man watch all your stuff it's all so damn good. I'm from Darlington and grew up around the track and in the museum. Did they not have DW'S wrecked 17 car? They had it for years
It’s gone now I think JR has it in his junkyard
what a great museum like the presentation. Neat
Excellent content, as usual, you guys rock!
Always love your videos, man…getting caught up because I’ve been busy!
Thanks man there’s some awesome stuff waiting for you!
Don't worry Mitchell, everybody is weird. Haha.
Darlington is a damn cool museum. Although I'm only used to Darlington, UK.
Can't wait till your build series.👍🏻
Awesome content. Thanks for going the extra mile!
Thank you!
I love all the stuff you guys do! Helps me remember a lot from my youth. I miss the racing from then. Thank you for the video. Been a fan for years and will always be.
Glad you enjoy it!
Love your channel! Keep up the good work!
Visited that museum @1987. It was cool then, and much nicer now! As we left, they were mowing the infield and left the gate open, so we walked out onto the banking, and were promptly thrown out LOL
We had planned to have lunch at the Thunderbird Hotel, but ended up at the Hardees in Florence owned by Cale Yarborough.
In my opinion, this is the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Who wants to drive to downtown Charlotte?
The two #87 cars used to be displayed at Griffin Motors in Florence on Irby street. The building is still there and is listed in the national register of historic places. Awesome content as usual! Keep em comin!
Can’t wait!
Didn’t know we had lost Rudy Branham. He was on the racing radio show on 92.9 for a long time that covered racing from the cup series all the way down to the local levels when I was racing. Super good guy.
I remember seeing the Craven car in the NASCAR Hall of fame in 2015. They definitely redid the body
Once again a killer video. Your channel is the only one that I can honestly say when I get a notification of a new video I drop everything and watch it. I spent 15 years in the sport and loved it all the way till my last day. Safe travels, good health and I’ll see you on the next video.
We appreciate it very much!!
That was an awesome tour of the Darlington museum good work!!
Awesome video Mitch an Logan, as a resident of SC an been to Darlington several times, never knew it was there, have to check that out next time I go, thanks for another great video, an the drive to keep Nascar history alive!! Thanks again!!
Thanks man!
Love the history.
This is by far one of my top 10 videos of yours I’ve watched ! Thank you…. so much cool memorabilia😊
Thanks Kyle!
Good stuff from the two of you once again! Thanks for videoing because I felt like I was there with you!!
Thank you so much for the old NASCAR content and keep up the good work!!!!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing with us, one day I hope to get back east to see these museums in person. Can't wait for yours and Logans build videos to come out!
Just wanted to say thank you for all the work you’ve done to persevere the history of racing and love your videos
Good video…thanks Mitch!
You bet!
The red and white Oldsmobile seemed to be wa way ahead of its time. The dash was purpose built, windshield tie-downs, the side window frames rolled, body seams filled & the rt. side was one big slab. The builder had to have been around airplanes or applied airplane construction techniques. The creativity of the early builders was amazing. Nothing was cookiecutter about the builds until the late 90's / 2000's. One cool hotrod . One very cool video thats not cookiecutter either!
Great video I watch all of your videos can’t wait for the build series on your car and I remember the other video you mentioned .
Awesome thank you!
18:29 Wow that was amazing
And I bet having your own race car is just totally awesome. Just can’t imagine.
I always watch the entire videos, I just can't help myself lol
you da man mark!
You need to find Rabbit and Yank Tank, they built cars for the Elliots. Ernie didnt duild the engines. James Lyle built the engines and he was a really good fitter and he built really nice engines for many of the short track guys in Georgia at the time.
Another banger! Thanks for documenting and letting us ride along!!
Glad you’re here for it!
