EXPENSIVE Wreck! Dump Truck vs Hospital

- EXPENSIVE Wreck! Dump Truck vs Hospital. I'm back working a wicked wreck job with none other than Dave. Let me start off by saying if you know what company this is, please don't comment it. It took me a very long time to carefully blur and edit out the company logos and license plates and I would like to respect the owner's wish to not have their logo shown.
With that out of the way, I really enjoyed overcoming the challenges we had to face on this one to cause no further damage. The dump truck was not only loaded, but it had a trailer with equipment on top and was pretty much kissing the wall. Using brute force with no finesse or game plan would have done much worse damage to the medical building or the truck itself.
Winching this straight back would have been horrible, as the front axle was destroyed. The passenger tire was broken and the rocks and mud would have made it get stuck more or turn into the building. First step was to tackle each unit separate. First the trailer, then the truck. By doing them one at a time, we were able to carefully get them out into the street, where they were then each towed separately.
We're known for working super quick which is why even my rollover videos are short, but this one is one of the longest I've posted so I can really show you guys how much care and thought goes into a big crash like this. If you guys are liking the longer content and different angles, let me know by subscribing and dropping a comment so I know to keep it up.

Credit must be given to whomever lashed that trailer. That equipment didn't budge an inch. The force of the stop is very evident in the load shift in the truck bed.
For reals ! Although we could’ve easily handled it if they came off the trailer, the fact that it didn’t budge during the crash is really impressive
Seems like the driver wasn’t the same one responsible for securing the trailer load
he was only three beers up at that time, then 30 later.............
"Feel the tension man... what a ride". Pulled that rig right out of there... and no trees were damaged during filming. For being toasted that driver missed a lot of things.
Sceez Play nice work you guys very nice 👍👍👍👍👍😊
I don’t think I’ve seen that black truck with flames before. Not as good lookin as Hulk though! 😜 No task too difficult for you & Hulk!! 💪🏻
That was great with all yall angles it's my second video that I watched great job guys love what yall do
Hey Josh !! Was the Driver drunk or had a medical issue like insulin reaction ?? 🤔🙄 Nice going getting that mess out of there with NO issue with the building !! 🙄🤥 Great working with Dave & Carlos !! 👍👍👍👍👍 Till the next ""ADVENTURE""------- ""STAY SAFE ""!!!
Drunk
Best coler of the truck
Yep this’ll be a bankruptcy case. Insurance probably won’t pay out.
Even if the auto insurance won't (and it probably will), the corporate general liability will - it's some kind of construction business, so 'a building got fucked up' is definitely in the risk analysis - but they're going to have a *LONG* list of requirements to remain a customer. Trainings, random screens, etc.
The damage here is just curtain wall. The 'pillar' that's busted out is just cosmetic - the actual structural pillars are set inside the building a foot or so (you can see one through the windows alongside the dump truck). That's why the building manager is getting windows boarded up, not waking up a structural engineer. It's gonna suck to get fixed (especially if those finish panels are no longer readily available) but it isn't dangerous or anything.
I don’t see we’re you comment comes from why would the insurance not cover this claim it’s really not a big deal everything he hit is replaceable doesn’t appear to have damaged the integrity of the building itself
Read your insurance policy. It states while committing a felony . -0- coverage ! Drunk driving is a felony !!! What was saturation of alcohol ? About .40 ? This guy will wish he were dead , and in califs !!!
@@charlesroer972 never knew nor have I ever come across this I will definitely look into it thanks for the info
@@charlesroer972 At 0.400 even Archer wouldn't be conscious. Depending on the driver and whomever he may have been working for, there may not be _any_ insurance. (you'd be shocked to know how many people drive around without insurance. and without a license, for that matter.) The building's insurance will almost certainly pay for repairs, but they will go after anyone they can to get any of that money back. (I've been there. Too many times.)
Good thing it wasn’t during the day because that
room could have had people in it.
Good point ! very fortunate for no injuries
Scary as hell to think there was somebody on the road drunk driving that thing
I guess that driver doesn't have to worry about renewing his CDL.
Probably didn't have one to start with.
Damn drunk drivers.
That idiot could have killed someone. 😡😡
I’m always amazed at the equipment you bring to these jobs-and even more amazed at your understanding of how to use it and your respect for other people’s property. I’m guessing that a lot of less experienced tow companies wouldn’t have been as careful with those trees as you were! God’s peace be with you!
Another amazing job✌️
Every video is a master class in rigging!
Great Josh and Dave! Lucky he wasn't over another foot or he would have been in the office and done more damage to the building! That was great the way you two maneuvered it out of there. Great angles too. I LIKE THESE LONGER VIDEOS TO SEE WHAT ALL YOU GUYS DO!
Not even a full foot either! With this weight and speed he absolutely would have taken out that wall, crazy to think about huh
If street view is to be believed, it's kinda weird how he got himself into the gap between the trees and the building. I'd assumed the road opposite lined up, but it looks like the angle on the building actually closes the gap. Even if you come steaming down the right most lane you'd be more likely to end up into the trees, or partly turn and plow solidly into the building.
Unless this was a while ago, there are other tyre tracks across the verge into the grass on Streetview. So this junction must leap out on people!
A question from the UK. Are big truck crashes super common in LA, because googling cdump truck hits buildingc have me lots of results far worse than this one?!
You guys are like surgeons with the precision. Another job well done!
I guess that driver's CDL will be going bye-bye.
WOW. I get cold shudders thinking about a DUI in that truck and trailer on the highway with me. This was a great video and a great job. Good to see Dave again. You two work together well. I like to think about what I would do and usually find myself wrong!
damn they went full on Leroy Jenkins
😂😂😂
I really enjoy the longer videos. Keep 'em coming.
That had to be a wild ride! There seems to be nothing a driver can't hit.. houses, tunnels, underpasses, warehouses, and now medical buildings. It's amazing it missed the overhead sign.
...and you made the recovery look like a walk in the park, as usual.
We’ve done pretty much all those lol. I’m not sure which is the most difficult, probably under bridges with low clearance. Thank you tho for the compliment!
@@PepesTowingService I'd think under low power lines that they can't turn off might be the worst. Seeing it clear all around except ZAP. Think that might make visualizing the job hard.
Hey pepes towing service! Surgical precision at the medical center! Thanks for all the entertaining vids! Pepes style rules!
I can't believe the driver was drunk you have said and did that what a mess. I just wonder if he wants his job back? You guys are the best!
With him causing that much damage I very highly doubt he will ever drive a truck ever again unless it's his own because with that wreck causing that much monetary damage nobody in their right mind will want to hire him.
Great recovery tools are only as good as the men behind them 👍 😀 you guys did awesome 👌
All your trucks are beautiful 🎉🎉🎉🎉
great video great team work. WELL THOUGHT OUT PLANNING
Daves truck looks incredible at night. Yall set that up wonderfully for him
I had to stop and comment at about 32.00 in...Josh talking about being embarrassed if Hulk couldn't do it...The dude "then who the hell the gonna call" priceless
love the longer content and different angles thankyou josh very apprciated
Thanks ! It took me so long to piece and edit this one together. I could have made it shorter but felt a job of this magnitude deserved to really show how much work had to be done to get it out safely
I don't want to be that guy. And you guys did a great job with it as always 👍
Well done, taking a little extra time to ensure that no further damage is done shows your character, professionalism and dedication to your trade. Nice.
Love the longer videos
He is lucky he didn't go through the building could have been a whole different situation
You guys act like you know what you’re doing!!! Keep up the good work. Love your great videos.
It`s beautiful to see how two rotators working together, when both operators know what they are doing, and also listening eachother for best result of how to do it, bacause there is allways more than one way to do it.
By the way Alex is learning to videos also, better and better everytime, but of course, you? started this channel, I like most your jobs.
Great job! And badass trucks!💪💯🔥🔥
Dream team flipper hulk 💪
Does Dave’s truck have a Special Name ?
Man your drone work is amazing.
That did some serious structural damage to the building. That exposed rebar cage with a lot of missing concrete inside the cage is a big deal. That column has lost a significant amount of its load bearing capacity.
Imagine had it been a direct hit and actually took out the corner and several yards of wall.
This is exactly why we rigged the way we did, especially now knowing the front axle was jacked up. Winching it back and having the truck catch that rebar or do more damage was an absolute priority to avoid
No. That is a curtain wall, which is nonstructural. The actual loads are carried by columns spaced a foot or so inside the outer wall (sometimes attached to the outer wall with drywall just to make them not look weird). You can see some of the structural columns through the windows as the 'thick' ones.
Obviously you don't want to do more damage to the curtain wall, because curtain wall is still a wall and thus expensive, but the absolute worst that can happen is ripping the facade off the building, and you'd have to try a lot harder to do that.
@@EyeMWing I thought it looked like it had taken out a bit of the column too, but I could be mistaken. We didn't really get a good close up look at the damage to be sure.
Either way, it was a good job keeping the wreck away from the compromised material during recovery.
That was absolutely amazing good job guys your videos are awesome keep them coming
WOW. Some of the jobs you get are unreal. Great job again.
They’re real alright 😂 the more unreal it’s described over the phone, the more fun it is in person lol
Pepe love your show ❤️ 😊
From EVS department nyc
I like the longer-form videos, I find the thought process that goes into the setup and the intricacies of the rigging just as interesting as the actual recovery itself. The camera angles were great, and I am continually amazed at how well these cameras do in low-light situations, as well as handling the spread between the dark areas and the massive amount of light the trucks throw out. Great to Dave again, and not at all to diminish how awesome Hulk looks, but he totally has the sexiest tow truck in L.A.
It took real finesse to maneuver the Super 10 out with the building, the tree and the overhanging sign being in the way. Nice job.
Josh and Dave great video! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Amazed at the skills that you guys have and you these and your experience to complete the job in a timely and safe manner. Well done.
SUPER good job on the video Josh!! SUPER cool recovery and SUPER cool to see you working with Dave!! I'm glad that you took the time to show the whole process. I also must say that Dave's truck is not just beautiful, it's a BEAST!! NO problem dragging or lifting any of that. IMPRESSIVE!!!! Another textbook example of "Pepe's Finesse". Take care and be safe out there!
Hi, Josh . I bet You love these kind of jobs, witch challense Your skills as rotator operator.
And hope that drunk driver can ever again drive any heavy vehicles, this one he was really lucky not killing or injuring anyone.
Sorry if there is wrong spellings in my text, its my 3rd lanquage.
By the way I love your skills with Hulk, and what it can do.
Good action pack video
You guys were poetry in motion. Great job. Stay safe.
Nice job as always Josh and Dave! Using precision every time gets the job done right the first time. Angles were great.
Love your truck beautiful ❤ you are always on top of your game 🎉🎉
looks like fun, I like the longer video (ok, I like all your videos actually). I was wondering if you were going to get stuck on that grass, but I don't see any other good way to approach it.
👍great job 😊
Man you guys have everything you need in your trucks, I can imagine what the costs are just for the materials in the truck to get the jobs done
Costs enough to probably buy a 40ton rotator 😂
About $158 I would guess. :)
Those recovery vehicles have to be close to 500k with all of the remote crane tech.
@@sammencia7945 Some of the bigger ones are over a million.
my friend has one that he bought brand new & That was at least 10 years ago and it was 500k then, plus to load it up with eqip, another 150k, then to chrome it out another 200k so almost 850k back then & the paint job has to be 50k
@@sammencia7945
Your father must be so proud of His teams. You and HULK are so amazing!
L.A.'s Premier Recovery Company...yep, proved it yet again.
Out Standing !! Like so what 's new!! Great video as always !! Fast Clean, The Dr. of heavy Towing !!! BOOM!!
This was a real nice job I applaud you great word from all of you😅
I've said it before...there ain't no job ya'll can't do- You guys make EVERY job an absolute work of art- Be safe guys!
What happened to the drunk
No clue. Prob hit the bar after lmao
You have a really interesting job. Every incident is an adventure. You are very good at what you do. I find it interesting to be able to recognize the site where you are working because I've been there. Been to this location in Cerritos. It's cool how you have all of the right tools and equipment on hand. I live about 6 miles from your Wilmington location in LA.
Good job and video. Nothing against Hulk but I really like Dave’s truck.
An evening with the "rotator duet". Very nicely done!
Ricardo is a great addition to the team. He learns fast, works hard and thinks for his self.
I think a company that allowed a drunk driver to operate a deadly weapon should be revealed. SHAME ON THEM! Was the driver arrested for DUI? Was there anyone in the office when the truck hit?
Pepe's does everything very carefully!
You guys do good work.
Unguided missile . This could of been soo much worse . I’d say have a cold beer but after this have a ginger ale much safer . Fine job
Good Job...A Team....#1
I just want to tell you how impressed I was with your concern for that tree. Others might not have been so considerate. And how careful you were not to do any more damage to the building. Lots of landscaping damage from the dump truck and the trailer but there was no way around that. You guys are so precise. You all were getting the truck removed and that facilities guy was already working to repair the windows. I could see water running on the sidewalk. Looks like an underground irrigation system got smashed. Good job.
Could killed kids any one not worth it don't drink drive pz keep safe 🙏 respect towing company s out there side road move over pz love vids from rob over pond in uk 🇬🇧
Everything about this video was amazing all the angles amazing say hi to papi chulo JOE ❤
Gonna hazard a guess and say that "VIP" in your line of work stands for "very intoxicated parking"?
Mr Josh Another awesome recovery. Thanks for sharing and stay safe
I went to truck school, but because of personality conflict with my instructor, I went one week only (so I didn't pay!) ... one thing is for sure, one of many things I learned, if a tractor trailer driver is driving under the influence, his career as a truck driver is DONE!!
Nicely done again.
Quite impressive.
Looking forward to the next one.
Nice Job Great
Chalk it up to to 20 of best show of hold my beer and watch this.
What true Teamwork!!!!! 😊
😂😂😂 the driver decided that this was the best place to park his truck for the night 😂😂😂Hahaha
Nice shot from the drone
Wow, looked like all newer rig and trailer/skidsteer and attachments! Was it an owner operator or company driver? Can't imagine an owner operator doing something as stupid to drive drunk. Gret recovery as usual guys! 👍👍
The driver should have waited on the 6 pack until he got home. Hopefully, this will be an educational experience 🙏
@bouffant-boy80 hard not to learn sitting in jail wondering how he got there! But some are hard learner's!
awesome job and awesome video
This is why I love watching your channel! I’m impressed, amazed on how y’all can do everything with patience, knowledge and the grace of God watching over y’all. Stay blessed and safe!❤️👏👏🙏🙏👍🫶🏽
Very smooth! Text book at its best!
Another stellar video! The audio was fabulous, video quality excellent. Always a pleasure to see Pepe's at work!!
Now that is what I call a mess, with a gr8 recovery.
Another awesome performance 🤓🙋♂️👍Bueno !
Josh, Alex and Dave are always the best and number 1
The thumbnail look like kids toys 😊
that gap between the trees and the building didn't look big enough for truck to get in there - obviously it did and was helped back out again as well. Great team work with the pull from the back and the lift and control/rotate at the front. Nice to see 3rd person camera work as well for Carlos? Enjoyed the roving shots whilst you and Dave worked the controls.
Ricardo, not Carlos. He was helping me with the camera towards the end, came out very nice I think. And thanks, was a bit tricky but the end result was great
Great job, great footage and quality. Triple thumbs up
For the life of me I'll never understand how people think it's a great idea to get behind the wheel intoxicated especially a commercial vehicle, this idiot needs to be banned from driving anything including a bicycle.
Great. Video👍👍👍👍👍
With today’s rotators system the jobs seem to go a lot faster
It must have been hell to do the jobs without the equipment
that is available today
Awesome , work guys the Hulk is amazing 💯💪
In that truck drivers defence, that street sign apears he should go where he went I had a dump truck and pup wake me up while it was destroying my fence I think he blacked out and jumped the ditch. I have a short clip on my instagram of it
If Hulk can not do it then you call in the guys with the cutting torches to chop it up and haul it off in bits !
Great work beautiful camera angles and awesome planing before each job
Job well done💪I didn’t know you have Lupillo Rivera working for you😁😀
So nice to see Dave's truck again its definitely a Badass ride
awesome job young men great team work
