You did well with your Thai audience and commentator. Bringing knowledge and spreading the love for people who can affford these plants which can thrive in their climate. Xxxxxxx
Wooow, way to Go Summer, under all that pressure, people watching, talking, interview, you were able to complete that terrarium, jeeee, weeee, gorgeous, inwould love to have that. Awesome job, 👏....
Wish we had permanent botanical shows in our malls, for people to relax and be inspired by plants....great job making and presenting that paludarium Summer! Amazing.
Summer your passion for plants, life, people and beauty just shines out of you… what a sweet pea. Very much enjoying listening to your book thank you 🙏🏼
Darth Vader, "I am your father!" Lol Summer I love your personality and how you travel to Asia and other countries and exploring the plant world and just sharing to us these amazing trips. I wish MOA have that here too! ❤️ From Minnesota.
So, I'm sitting here somewhere in the Catskills with 400 or so 🌵 stuffed in my basement, -1 degrees this morning and snow everywhere. Man I wish Summer was here ;)
Watching it in February 2021 - from Latvia. It is -14⁰C and will become colder at night. Brought in all the plants from the hallway to our apartment in - so cold there. Hugging them all indoors now...🍃❄💚
Hi Summer !! I am Indian from Philippines,,,, love your plant work,,,,as me too a plant lover that collects tiny greens and makes it grow,,,,,,,around me
Summer you are truly amazing and a Masterpiece of botanical gardens.. 🙏being an expertise a our natural environment are truly amazing.. How to be you.. 😊thank you you're my inspiration every now and then 🙏
I didn't expect this rollercoaster of emotions! I nearly lost it at the chicken planters😢 Then Summer Rayne Oakes quotes Darth Vader and I pass out from sheer Star Wars nerd joy😂 Me remembering my mall local has plastic snake plants and dragon trees😒 A ROLLERCOASTER of emotions! 🤣
yeah that chicken planter struck a particular chord inside me 。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。.. on the other note that Darth Vader on loop just i cant.. they cant seem to have enough hearing it! 💚
You designed the paludarium so naturally and beautifully! Wonderful idea to have a plant market at a mall. Would love see see that happen where I live!
Such a wonderful video, I truly enjoyed every minute of it, you did such a beautiful job with the Thai audience and with the actress commentator. I found it so interesting as you were explaining how to create this environment for our plants and what can survive and how they grow in these conditions. Thanks so much for a most special and fascinating video. xxxxx!
omg you noticed that too! saw her do this for the second time, the first one was the small pots on the Chatuchak market \(-ㅂ-)/ ♥ ♥ ♥ .. and this simple act of saying no to plastic bags has a huge positive impact to the environment! i gave up using plastic straw as well 💚
You're such a amazing and talented girl, very creative.I'm always follow, almost on your vlog especially in botanical garden.watching from Tagum city philippines.
I love the fact that we can get as simple or as complicated (making a whole new type of climate/environment) as we'd like with plants. I like to look at all the more tropical species but at the same time a Tiger or Staghorn Fern is as high matinence as I'd like to get as far as humidity and containment goes.
I really enjoyed the video, especially your planting of the polidorium (sp) Is there some place I could look into this type of plant culture/display a little deeper? Thanks so much have a great day.
I love this! The Paludarium was so gorgeous. Your workshop was so informative. I have a bunch of coral rock could I use that instead of rock? Or would it be too alkaline? They have long been out of the fish tanks but I would like a way to reuse them rather than throw them away.
It's a great question. I think it would take the coral a while to disintegrate, but you'd probably be planting directly on Sphagnum and not the coral. Whether it affects the alkalinity of the water for some water-loving species, I'm not certain.
Those little pots are sooooo precious!! I recently bought some off of ebay and I cant even when I look at them! It makes me want to propagate and get baby plants for them!! I am so glad he made you go! It was so interesting. Also, truth, when they handed you that Darthvaderiana like it was just another plant to put in did you get woozy!!?? I actually screamed a little and scared the crap outta my sister!!😂😂😂 this was a great video, thank you!!
If you travel and want to bring 1-2 plants home, which formal steps do you have to take? Which documentatiom is required? Or do you nerd to contact someone who can ship it for you?
exactly my question, but based on what i had learned from Summer's previous videos, if youre ordeing them outside your country you might need to ask for a phytosanitary permit so as to ensure that the plants you are importing are free from pests and diseases (spoiler alert they will be shipped bare root). a tip is just if its winter time you might wanna ask for heat packs so as not to damage the plant from cold. This is all about ordering online not actually physically purchasing it to an exhibit or garden and to be taken home.. id let Summer answer the rest ≧ω≦
Firstly, you need to get them all bare root, which means free of any soil particles on the roots. Then you need to schedule an appointment with a phytosanitary department and then you need to get a phytosanitary certificate. Depending where you get it, it can cost some money. Maybe $100 - $200. It really depends. I believe you can take less than 12 plants home on the plane. Maybe it's 20. I can't remember. But they all have to go through the phyto. And then you need to declare them at the border. And then go through Ag security there, so they can inspect every one. It's a bit of a dancing dog act.
Thanks for the explanation ENU and Summer! It sounds quite a struggle, indeed. But I can imagine how important it is to prevent foreign bacteria and pests to spreand.
@@enuphotography i went there last month. Its like 150 miles from.where i live.. well i spent about USD75 or RM 250 On 1.species of hoya, raphidophora, heliconia, musella and an anthurium

I'm a big carnivorous plant fan so it was hard to see you WALK RIGHT PAST those nepenthes!!! Have you done a video featuring carnivorous plants? I love your work!
Just subscribed to your channel . Are you a botanist or horticulturist? What is your background? Your knowledge and artistic know how in making the vivarium is amazing.
Great event! Thanks for returning the plastic bag! ...Lastly, the last shot in the video there was some kind of misting...u should have elaborated on it. Great! Keep it up!
I really enjoy your videos and im left researching like crazy to keep up!.... What is the dwarfe fishtail palm looking thing in the planted tank? Great videos !
Summer Rayne Oakes I was happy to see that included in the video, too. ❤️ I know it’s not super unusual elsewhere, but where I live people usually think I’m coo coo for it. 🙃 Made me feel less alone to see.

So calm as you create your masterpiece! I would be a nervous wreck. Well done Summer!

I live in Hawaii on the wet side of the big island and we have some really nice gardens here but I am still jealous that you are so close to noog nook
You won't be jealous for long-I'll be giving you a thorough look throughout the gardens there, so stay tuned. They're meaty ones!
im earllllyyyyyyy!! those thailandicum are pretty neat Summer, im at 5:08 and was so fascinated by how you lessen the use of plastic bags!
\(○^ω^○)/
Thanks for noticing. It's hard to do it all the time, but in this case, it made sense not to use the bag, since I had the little paper one. :)

This is great! Awesome job you did! 😊🌿
What is that beautiful little plant with the spotted leaves you touch at 15:02? Is it some type of jewel orchid?
What is the name of that gorgeous miniature palm frond shaped plant you used in the palladarium? I’ve never seen it before
You are awesome Summer 👊 😊
You honestly need to buy a house in Thailand hahaha 🤣

Cool! What are those miniature palm frond looking plants in the paludarium?
It would be very hard to go to a plant fair and not be able to bring any home that would kill me 🤣
