Great Job! My advice to everyone watching, use gloves after applying heat, you can leave finger prints hard to get out, especially when applying black vinyl! Happy Wrapping
I just watched a guy try to hand stretch his wrap and it looked so complicated. You let the tool do the work on this one and made it look a LOT more doable and may try this with my next vehicle
Finally, a video wrapping a difficult piece. Trying to wrap the center console piece that holds the cupholder on my 2012 Mustang, the inner curve by the E-Brake is pretty intimidating so I gotta watch this lol.
You left out the hardest part, getting that part off the car without breaking the ~50 little yellow or blue clips on the back, that ford doesn't sell separate.
My only issue when applying vinyl wrap is when i have to do corners. I often have to cut the vinyl in the corners to split it, just so i can lay it over the corners, and that usually leaves me with a gap between the vinyl or an overlap. :/
If your doing that you got to much overlay. Idea is tighten heat tighten heat for corners. Never try to cheat an do the Y split. It'll come up later an has a chance coming undone at that corner
Cutting for relief tends to help but from what I've seen you only do it once you got it completely around your piece. The cut should just go up underneath the lip on the other side of your piece
@FirePhoenix103 you can cut for relief just as he did before stretching into those holes. Just ensure you have accounted for the length you need to get round the edge without cutting short. And then some... because as you hear it will shrink. If in doubt, cut even less then heat and cool then cut more as you'll knowvits not going to shrink much more.
You are the first video that I’ve ever seen that actually removes the backing the right way. I was just placing my ford performance decal the other weekend and my gf was pulling straight up and I had to school her when she almost ripped the F off lol.
Actually did this on the interior pieces of my Mini Cooper. I've been a collision tech for 43 years, but this was the first time I've ever tried wrapping. Came out pretty nice, but now after a year, the edges are coming loose. Not sure if that's from improper prep, or not enough heat to form it. I've done a few smaller projects since this, and still have the same probs. Always seems to be how to 'slit' , heat, and fold to get around curves and edges. But, You did a great job! ;)
Just did mine with vivid matte black but mine was alot thinker so it didn't good down like yours but it turned out great ty for the video give us more of wraps buddy
Nice and very professional job. I always wanted repair the parts of the manifolds that come in chrome appearance, but I'm lost and don't know where to get it. Some ideas and videos that can help me??? I really appreciate. Cheers.
@@HereWeGoNow Excellent idea!!! You know, a good friend has a Sentra 2016 and someone smashed the front grill, the situation is that it isn't broken, just the vinyl cover started to peel off and I think it could be fixed without spending hundreds of dollars.Thank you very much for the helping.
I don't think vinyl is a good idea for a manifold that produces heat. The wrap won't last long and will peel up quicker or am I wrong? Seems like on engine parts powder coating or painting would be best.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears you need just the right amount of heat and of course good quality vinyl ? It's like it almost melted around the piece and you tucked it away....done !
Hey dude. Great wrap. I'm doing the interior of my car. Problem is, the wrap I have has a see through layer on the top too. Do i take that off or leave it on for protection? I'm not sure what it's for.
Nice install! Thinking about doing this on some interior trim of our car but wondering how well it holds up on hotter days? Our interior is black leather so it can get hot inside if we park it out in the sun. Sorta worried if this will bubble or peel back in that case...
beware it looks easy but the true is that is very hard to use wrap you need to have a lot of experience using it... I did the same wrap to my car 2 days later with the heat of the sun the wrap started to unstick from the plastic :( Is not recommended to use wrap in places that weather is very hot.
In Automotive and motorcycles, I hate HATE fake carbon fiber!!!! With that being said, holy fuck stains Batman!!! Your shit looks factory clean!!!!! Awesome job. 👀👍🏻🇱🇷👍🏻🇱🇷⚾️👀
Preparing to do some wraping myself and this was helpful, so thanks! We are going to film it and share on our channel. Any suggestions where to get quality vinyl?
Thanks for this video. Did you ever wrapped plastic PP (Polypropylene)? It's usually found on car bumper (bare substrate/bare plastic). Can vinyl stick to it? Or should I spray plastic primer or adhesion promoter first? Need advice here. TIA
How durable is this stuff? Does it adhere good. Wanting to do this for my ac vents. Will it be bad to do that considering there will be a breeze of hot and cold air?
quick question! could you apply this to shells of small electronics? and would a hair drier work? if not, would the heat gun melt small plastics on electronics?
How do you do damage the wrap when screwing into it? I wrapped a piece of trim and when I went to screw it back in, as you go to tighten it securely, it grabs, pulls and twists the vinyl and ruins what was a perfect job.
Same thing that happens to cars that are wrapped. It's meant to deal with the heat. It'll be good for 3-5 years depending on quality of vinyl you use. Hope this helps
man this video is so good. im gonna do it to my truck dash. i was curious on how to do it. any idea on whats a good quality vinyl types online or it doesnt matter which type ?? thanks
Thank you! I used vivvid vinyl off Amazon. Just stick to the well know companies (3m, vivvid, hexis, kmpc, ect). Metrorestyling.com is a good site as well

+HexifiedMusic hope it helps! There are a few videos on wrapping tips that helped me with this piece.
How did it go for you? I'm about to do that same piece on my 2010 Mustang
did you ever wrap the center console ?
I’m waiting to hear the results from you. It’s been 4 years 😅 we’re still waiting!
Wrapping around holes/bolts/screws/whatever etc is the hardest part for me!
You left out the hardest part, getting that part off the car without breaking the ~50 little yellow or blue clips on the back, that ford doesn't sell separate.
+Robert Baldwin haha! I didnt have too much of a hard time with it. Thought about doing a seperate video for that actually.
Robert Baldwin ford dealer doesn't but Tasca parts.com it does 20 30 cents per piece.
If they do, I can't find them.
Robert Baldwin part nr. W714972-s300 bezel trim clip. Make sure u go by Year and model

Thank you, that's why I make content! Hope it helps
Awesome work man.
Earlier i was going for costly hydrodip, now will go for this as much cheaper alternative with same elegant look
Gorgeous job - can't believe the difference and how good it looks - thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Very helpful. Did my bootlid handle whilst going through your steps. My first time wrapping. I did fine, thanks to you. Much appreciated.
Great to hear it helped man! Thank you

Great informational video! I’ll be trying to wrap the same dash style on my mustang tomorrow, it will be my very first time wrapping anything.
Right on Joey! Hope it helped with your dash wrap.
I'm wrapping the air jet mask and this video helped me very much! I'd post a video next week. Thanks bro👍

Hope it helps! Thank you
DAMN it came out GOOD... Thanks, I'm gonna give it a try.
I did this mod and it added 50+ hp to my riced out Honda...
No it's only worth 23.5 hp
Weight reduction brah. Now it's carbon..so it;s lighter, right?
Exactly, the car feels so much quicker and nimble from all the weight loss.
Basically mugen spec now 😂
Paired with the brake fluid delete it COMPLETELY changes the car bro!
Wow! More techno! Just what we needed!
Great video! Love the music and editing! You make it look easy! Great job dude!! Liked and Subscribed!!!!
Thanks my man!
Nice and very professional job. I always wanted repair the parts of the manifolds that come in chrome appearance, but I'm lost and don't know where to get it. Some ideas and videos that can help me??? I really appreciate. Cheers.
Thank you. I'd check on Amazon for chrome vinyl wrap. Should have a big selection. I really like vvivid vinyls product.

Great vid, the corners are always the hardest part for me.... Im gonna try your method 😀
Nice video the 3 bad comments below me made me want to watch this because i knew they were wrong.
Totally awesome job❣️👍🏻❣️😳😊
Thank you! 😊
Thumbs down if you are a real troll. He wrapped that perfect. Can't wait to give it a try.
Haha...Thank you!
I suede wrapped some trim pieces on my 2018 sonata (stock carbon fibre look) it looks great.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it appears you need just the right amount of heat and of course good quality vinyl ? It's like it almost melted around the piece and you tucked it away....done !
Gotta be careful with too much heat. I melted the vinyl on another piece.
Iso took the finish right off my shifter trim!
Great vid! Direct and simple. Thanks for showing the end process
Thank you!
Nice work brother
Thank you
Hey that looks really great I've been trying to learn how to wrap. I've got a tail light to do door panel pieces and wanting to do my hood
Hey dude. Great wrap. I'm doing the interior of my car. Problem is, the wrap I have has a see through layer on the top too. Do i take that off or leave it on for protection? I'm not sure what it's for.
Thank you! Remove it. It's just to protect it before you start wrapping. Good luck!
Nice work! The end result is amazing. Btw you should tell your viewers to not try this with Wish vinyl wrap. That stuff is garbage.
For sure! I wouldnt use anything from wish.
Nice little video mate thanks a million very helpful👍
Glad you enjoyed! hope it helps
My
Nicely done!
Great video!!! I plan to do this also, seems like it just takes a lot of patience!!
I'm trying to wrap my hood vents on 2016 gt gloss black... Will try

Jeremy Lee nope you’re good
Had mine for over a year and no issues here
I have the premium with the fake silver carbon fiber. Does that have to be removed first before laying on the vinyl overlay?
Nope. This goes over the top of that
Looks awesome what size did u purchase for the dash the 75 by 5 feet ??
Thanks! I think it was the 6ftx3ft. You don't need all that.much depending on the dash you are doing
@@HereWeGoNow I’m doing same dash as u ..
beware it looks easy but the true is that is very hard to use wrap you need to have a lot of experience using it...

Awesome video👌😎
thank you for a great video with step by step on something harder than a simple piece .. perfect finish brother
Makes me wanna carbon fiber my arm...
Could look pretty dope...as long as you don't need to ever bend it.
Omg doing mine was sooo hard cause it very curvy 🥲 took like three hours
Looks great. I was wondering if I could use a hair dryer since I don’t have a heat gun. Would that work as well
Thanks for this informational video!
Where can I purchase quality material? Good video
Very impressive! Great job!
Thank you!
I'm having problems with the right angled corners. Do you overlap the vinyl? No matter how hard I try it can't be not overlapped
how does it hold up in a hot car - does it start melting or anything, like when you use a heat gun on it?
Nice job! Gonna try this on some side panels on my bike. Any recommendations on a quality carbon fiber vinyl brand? Seems to vary wildly in price.
In Automotive and motorcycles, I hate HATE fake carbon fiber!!!! With that being said, holy fuck stains Batman!!! Your shit looks factory clean!!!!! Awesome job. 👀👍🏻🇱🇷👍🏻🇱🇷⚾️👀
Haha thanks man my!
Can we use hair dryer?
nice work man
keep it going
+Ibrahm Kuari thanks man!
What brand of vinyl do you have? It doesn't seem tacky at all.
Very nice good job
awesome job bro...awesome music choice
Thank you man!
Does the heat help the glue/adhesive stick to the piece you’re working on?
It does help it adhere as well as makes the vinyl more pliable and allow it to strech
Anyone else going to appreciate the song at roughly 6mins
JPB - Defeat the Night ft. Ashley Apollodor
You're welcome.
Preparing to do some wraping myself and this was helpful, so thanks! We are going to film it and share on our channel. Any suggestions where to get quality vinyl?
Nice! I picked mine up in amazon. vivvid, hexis, avery are all good, just stay away from cheap chinese vinyl
@@HereWeGoNow Thank you! Will give it a shot.
Just concerned about heat gun. Is it a paint stripping gun? Surprised it doesn't melt everything!
Can you do stuff like the silver trim around the vents and steering wheel without taking the parts off?
Thanks for this video.

Can vinyl stick to it? Or should I spray plastic primer or adhesion promoter first?

Did you disable the battery before removing the trim. Im scared bcz ive altis and i want to remove the trim scared if airbag would deploy!
great video. How is this holding out so far?

Good video, good job. Thanks!
So what happens when you leave your car outside during the summer heat?
Same thing that happens to cars that are wrapped. It's meant to deal with the heat. It'll be good for 3-5 years depending on quality of vinyl you use. Hope this helps
