LSA supercharger could BREAK MY TRUCK unless I fix these two things

  • I cant go full throttle with my LSA single cab silverado until I fix these two things. When I first test drove my truck after installing the supercharger, I realized there were two major problems that could get a lot worse unless I took action right away. The issues were wheel hop and the stock 4l60e transmission. Thankfully, I already had the parts on-hand to cure both problems, but they needed to be installed right away before I broke something. The COPO truck is a 2000 Chevy Silverado single cab 4wd stepside that I'm turning into the ultimate sport truck, if GM could have built it this way. Think of it as a GM lightning or a full size syclone, or a single cab silverado SS, but either way, it will be a fun, light weight, traction machine.

I put an electronic shift kit on my 96 ford shortbox and what a difference that thing made.
Best 50 usd go fast part i ever bought.
it had a 3 position switch street, strip and off.
you could already feel it in street mode and in strip it was neck snappingly crisp almost harsh and would aggrevate a sore neck if you had one.
the best part was it installed from the outside to the electrical plug and was done in less than an hour!

you can save the tranny by massively reducing the timing curve during shifts in the tune. This will result in the engine "bogging" down during the shift but will save the tranny. You should only have to do this for the 1/2 and 2/3 shifts. This will also help mitigate breaking the tires loose during sifting on the street during full throttle acceleration.

GM staggered the rear shocks because to keep the rear from hopping. They found this out with the 1967 Camaro Z28. That’s why they had a factory traction bar on one side of the rear. In 1968 they staggered the rear shocks and took away the traction bar.

@@chrishansen7004 OK again it's not an OE part. Have you had the truck since it was new? In the OE world the pin is selective for length that gives the right adjustment. In the field having the exact pin length is not always available, hence shims to adjust. Go find the transgo information sheet and you'll be more informed of what transgo gives to the builder to be able to get the correct adjustment.
