Pin v and k should be for the input speed sensor. The only difference after 07 is pin s is eliminated because the 3-2 downshift solenoid was eliminated. 2006 and earlier did not use pin v or k
04 suburban 5.3 4x4 ive done the swap and harness rewiring, just need to do the segment swap. What was the other company you mentioned that you use? What would i need to do the swap. Hptuners is 567 for their product and license to do it. I paid 400 for my 4l80 with torque converter, transfer case and front driveshaft. Thats all I have into the swap. I cant see paying more for the tuner than i have into the entire swap.. thanks for your time and help.
You have ri tune it to make it work. I use EFILive and HPtuners which means I have over $2k in hardware to tune. The other option is a mail order tune.
It will do all sorts of weird stuff if it isn't tuned. The TCM will see wrong gear ratios, it's looking for a 3/2 downshift solenoid and depending on the year it doesn't know what to do with the input speed sensor, Bottom line you have to get it tuned.
Iran a stock reman converter for a while then i had one built by a company called B&I in Oklahoma (great company to deal with). It has an HD clutch and front cover and a 2400 stall speed. It was an awesome upgrade Bill will build whatever you want 405-557-0026
So same cooler line fittings right? Diffrent locations i know. How about running a lower cover? My grandad never had one on his chevelle. And it sat for 20 years in dirt and never had any issue. (Both seals leaked as you would expect) so idk. I hear its structural. I dig your trans mount too my man. Not good, but i like it.
Same cooler lines. I don't run the cover because they are a pain to get in and out if anything happens. Some people say they run cooler without it (inter webs says it's true so it has to be..) Cross member has worked for over 75k miles so it's gotta be good. Thanks for watching
96 to mid 99 in the OBS trucks and suv Late 99 to 2006 in the NBS Both of those year ranges would be the same mechanically but different wiring and programming than explained. 2007 to 2013 if it had a 4l60e and not the 6l80e. Hope that's clear as mud Thanks for watching
No 2wd but the install is very similar. You would need a 4wd output shaft, a transfer case adapter. The rear driveshaft would have to be shortened and the front one built longer. Your stock transfer case might work, just have to do some research.
It drives great, I couldn't tell you about slower because I put a turbo on it at the sa,end time. It's got about 75k trouble free miles on it. The only real difference is about 200 rpm higher on the freeway because of the overdrive ratio difference.
@@autovationFtWorth oh really? I have looked at the over drive gear ratio but I do know that 1st gear is longer than 1st in a 60e. I have a custom built iron 6.2 that I’m putting a supercharger on for about 10psi of boost so I’m hoping to make around 600wheel on. But I was hoping the 80e didn’t eat up a whole bunch of power of feel lazy.
60e will not live a long life at that power level. I shelled 1 stock and 2 'built' 60e's in my LS swapped s10 blazer. 5.3, small cam, springs and headers, no power adder. The only key to making a 4l80 live is leave it in 3rd when you're beating on it.
Yes you can. The video lines out pretty much what you need. If you need some more direction contact me via email ( my email address is on my channel page.
I just had my 4L60e rebuilt not knowing its basicly a th700 and there junk. Its a 6 cylinder gearbox and first gear is stupidly low.. dont bother with 4L60,s
A 4L60e has its place but if you got lots of torque or you're towing a lot then they will fail. The 700 is similar to a 60e but the electronic controls made a huge difference in the shift strategy

I'm glad it helped. Most of the info is out there just not in one place. Thanks for watching, make sure you're subscribed and tell your friemds,

back in the old days 6 cylinders small blocks 283 to 400 and big blocks 396 to 454 all had the same bell housing pattern
LS engine have the same bolt pattern with one difference, they deleted the bolt location at 2 o'clock and added a bolt at 12 o'clock
Those days are long gone my friend, and even though there was alot to learn, things today are so much more complicated than they should be!
@@autovationFtWorthyep you can still bolt a 4l60 even an 80 to an lt 😂
The 4L80 is a little thicker in the middle, but so are a lot of us and we still work just as well.😂
Thick in the middle....😅 I call it full of contentment
Lol he doesn’t mention the intercooler or the wastegate actuator which is probably the reason for getting the 4l80e in the first place! 🤣
I saved that for a different video...😉

Can you make or send me a video on how to program my Tcm and exactly what I need to download step by step please
I should be able to do that.

What is the pressure on a trans cooler line? Is the rubber hose rated for the pressure or was steel line used just for redundancy?
It's transmission cooler hose design3d for that application. 300 psi max line pressure.
Music is very unnecessary
I'm trying to do the same exact swap my buddy has EFI live do I have to pay for the tune
Yes you have to pay for a license
I would love to do this to my 2008 4.8 chevy, do you think its the same process?
If it has a 4l60e yes. If it has a 6l80e then no, but it can still be done.
I have a 99 Suburban 1500 4x4 and the 4L60e lost 3rd gear. Is this possible with my specific truck?
Usually it would lose 3rd & 4th. They share a clutch pack
I wanna put a 4L80e behind a 4.3L LV3 ... anyone got some direction I should start for getting this all to work together?
Not sure if it's possible with a factory ecm. It might work with a Holley or FiTech.
@@autovationFtWorth well thanks for that. I don't anticipate issues with the mechanical aspect,
Is programming nessecary ?
Yes, that is explained starting at 7:22
What year make and model trans dipstick did you go with for the 4l80?
Any 99 to 06 2500 pickup or suburban with a 4l80 will work
What about doing this swap on a 97 with the 5.7l
It can be done. The Black Box ECM can be tuned with EFI live. You would have to find an operating system with a 4l80e and reprogram to that.
What years can this be done for?
96 to mid 99 in the OBS trucks and suv
Late 99 to 2006 in the NBS
Both of those year ranges would be the same mechanically but different wiring and programming than explained.
2007 to 2013 if it had a 4l60e and not the 6l80e.

Do you know if one will fit in a 09 colorado?
Only if it has a 5.3. The bell housing is different for the 4 and 5 cylinder engines

Gen v with a 4l80e? Or 6l90
I don't think you can do a 4l80 swap on a gen V. I may be wrong.
How does it drive? Slower? Feels heavier?
