Don't know why I kept saying "Daylight Running Lights". This method should work with most if not all models of the Vibe. The box might be in a different spot behind the glove box though. Sorry for the poor formatting. And yes that is a Pikachu painting.. I have no idea where that came from. One of my roommates hung it up I think, haha.

Just wanted to say that you rock and this was a very helpful video coupled with the pics. I don't mind DRL but I have to idle at night without lights on sometimes and the automatic sensor was driving me nuts. Thank you for helping me restore sanity and keep up the good work!

If you have to idle at night occasionally and don't want your headlights on, I discovered a hack to temporarily disable your automatic headlights without having to cut any wires. With the car off and the ebrake engaged, just shine an led flashlight at the daylight sensor on the dash, start your car, and your headlights should stay off at idle as long as you don't release your ebrake. Once you start your car, you can remove the led flashlight as well and the headlights will still stay off.

I just realized, couldn’t we just have pulled the fuse instead? Because in that black box that you plug in that white harness is all fuses lol either way I’m happy it’s gone, but pulling the fuse from that wire would do the same thing right?
I think there would be some lost functionality if fuse was just pulled. Glad it worked for you!

Does anyone know what gauge wire this is? I want to install a switch so I can turn the unit on back to normal as wanted, but I will need 2 lengths of wire complete the loop.

When you turn your headlights on it’s controlled by the brightness wheel. When your headlights are off dashboard lights are on. At night with my headlights on the dashboard lights turn all the way off.

You mean the wires once you clip? Just wrap some electrical tape around the end.

Does this disable the auto on/off of lights when it’s dark outside or do I have to manually turn them off and on if I do this?
This makes your lights fully manual.
There’s probably a way to make it still work but I wanted to be able to decide when they’re on/off

I would double check that you did the correct wire. It's really easy to get it turned around.
A little late to the party... But how in the heck are you getting two hands on the relay to pull the wires out?
Cuttting the wire, not pulling it out
You could probably use a screwdriver to hep get the plug out. Or just grab it with your hand and wiggle like crazy
Yeah I meant the plug, sorry. Spent about 30 min trying to wiggle it out, figured there's a release but I can't find it

IT Gaming I believe so, yes. I don’t know if the colors of the wires will be the same, but the number should be. If you cut it and it doesn’t work then, you can always splice it back together with some electrical tape. That’s what I did when I was running trails on this method.

@@itgaming473 It's not numbered on mine. I posted a link in the description of this video with a picture describing what I was talking about. Lemme know if that doesn't make sense. Just make sure you have the top on the top when you're counting. That is, it's correct when you have the big ones on the left hand side.
