I was just about to go through the hassle of replacing the bulbs when you discussed the fuse. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together, it was very helpful.
Just got pulled over tonight for both my license plate lights being out. Definitely going to check the fuse before changing the bulbs .Was afraid I would have to take to dealership to have replaced, but your video makes it look easy enough for me to handle myself. Thanks so much for posting!!
Thank you for your input. I struggle for a few minutes and was afraid to break the plastic trying to take the bulb out with my hand. Had to watch your video and it was so easy with your instructions.
Thank you for taking the time in creating this video. Followed everything including the fuse change. Bought both the 15 fuse and sylvania 168 bulbs from a 24 hour Walmart. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Good luck and God bless! 😊🙏🏽
Thanks Robbie. I THOUGHT that the sockets must just rotate a bit counter-clockwise, but they didn't want to move. So before given-er and maybe breaking them... I came in and saw your video. Thanks you so much!
That was quite helpful thank you! I have to do this and am really looking forward to doing this myself for the first time. I hope that I can do it as easy as you did, minus your hand almost getting stuck! Thanks so much for doing a video like this.
Just got pulled over by the state police. No ticket thank goodness. I like your video and I hope it's a simple to replace the bulbs and fuse as you made it look. thank you
Remember not to touch the bulbs with your fingers. The oil in your skin creates hot spots and causes the bulb to burn out faster. Always use automotive disposable gloves (often black in colour) when working with any car light bulb. Thanks for the how to, one of the better ones on UA-cam.
Thanks so much! There's no way I could pay someone to change a light bulb and this was the 1st one that I needed advise for. Now My bulbs are in working order again
Very good vid ..Only problem I had was “gonna show where the fuse box is at” proceeds to skip 5 seconds ahead with low light picture then back to the trunk
I was wondering how I would grab those little bulb sockets. My hands aren't huge, but I would have had to be nine years old to grab the one with the harness in the way. I was contemplating removing the entire door panel. I think the pliers will work for me. Thank you much for the video!
Hello, I have a 2007 Pontiac Vibe. Based on your video, I replaced the license plate lights.... they don't work. I checked the fuse - it's OK. I took off the trim and touched the plug, the lights started working. There was a bad contact. I think it's a blue plug (I don't remember exactly).
Thanks - bulbs on order for my '03 Matrix XRS. Always glad to know when something (i.e., the bulb behind the harness) is going to be a pain so I can have my four-letter words ready.
Thank you, Mr. TwoScraps. I bought replacement bulbs for my Matrix, thinking there would just be screws on the lenses (they're not visible, so why not?). Then I thought access must be through that panel, but I didn't want to just rip it open, the inside of the tailgate is already banged up enough.
The question is why did the fuse blow? Also should replace with led bulbs. They last longer and are brighter. You can remove the larger Plastic cover. It's just clips around the edges
The map light by the sunroof controls is a 1895 bulb you can purchase them from amazon...Auto stores will try and sell you a 194 bulb which is for the cars that have the map lights in the mirrors.
For future reference: The tag lights on the vibe/matrix are in a series, if one goes out the other won't light up. Also, since they are incandescent bulbs you can blow them while shutting the hatch when they're lit so don't slam it shut.
@@KeyFobRob Thanks for that info and for the video. I'd just include that type of stuff in the description if I were you... this is different from my 2009 for example. Have a good night sir!
Fuses are rated in amps, not watts. Did you ever figure out why the fuse blew? Both of those lights together should not draw more than 4 amps. The fuse needs more that 15 to blow.
I have a light out and tried to get it back in....but ...you need small hands to get in that hole. Who designs these things? Oh! A college graduate! The video is good, though.
Well, Vibe and Matrix aren't really the same. Fuses in my 2005 Matrix are under the hood, more convenient location. But license plate lights are exactly like in your video.
I was just about to go through the hassle of replacing the bulbs when you discussed the fuse. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together, it was very helpful.
Thanks Bobby. Didn't want to rip the cover off of it but by watching your video, I got it done. Cover needs to pop off from the top first.
+Bobby McMeans Thanks Bobby

+Heather Rennae Hope you didn't get a ticket!
+Robbie TwoScraps - Nope! Just a warning. My fuse was fine. Both bulbs were blown. All fixed now. Nothing to it!
+Heather Rennae Excellent!

Did you actually replaced the fuse even it it was only the bulbs
Thanks Robbie. I THOUGHT that the sockets must just rotate a bit counter-clockwise, but they didn't want to move. So before given-er and maybe breaking them... I came in and saw your video. Thanks you so much!

Glen Gardner Glad to help!
Likewise thanks.

Great video! I ended up using a basin wrench.
Great job!
thanks for the video, i am also trying to change the light bulb that goes where the sunroof is? do you what number those are?
The map light by the sunroof controls is a 1895 bulb you can purchase them from amazon...Auto stores will try and sell you a 194 bulb which is for the cars that have the map lights in the mirrors.
Thanks for showing the right way to do it!!!!!
+marhenezmt you bet
Thanks man 👍 that driver side bulb was tricky
You are welcome
😊
This is so helpful, I just got pulled for having mine out..
Yikes! Glad I could help you get them sorted out
I’m pretty sure mine is the bulb not the fuse because only one is out.
Nice video.
Glad it helped
Thanks I'll check the fuse first.
This is a lot easier to do compared to my corolla. the carpet on under the trunk was a pain.
Thanks so much really made this easy on me. Ended up getting a ticket before I noticed, though
+Jaxx Anon Sorry about that ticket!

hmmm, I have only one tag light out on the passenger side.
@@markfrommich Same here. 2005 Vibe.
Extremely helpful thank you
Glad it helped
Geez. Toyota engineers be tripping on this part of the car, why did we need pliers to twist it off? wtf. Thanks for the vid!
They want you to bring it to the dealer then hit you with a large bill
I changed both bulbs but only one turned on. Gonna try the fuse next
Thanks man this helped a lot
No problem 👍
Thank you ! I was able to do it so easily 🙋

@@peteweidner4088 I hear ya. This video is amateur hour
Thank you for posting this!
No problem. Hope it saved you some time!
Definitely. That small panel has no groove or crevice or anything indicting that it can or should be removed. I feel better now.
SalvadorLosAngeles Nice! They want you to take it to a dealership and fork out some hard earned cash! No thanks!
Robbie TwoScraps Success! Thanks again!

How to replace automatic gear shift lever bulb toyota camry 2013
I did it,thanks to your detailed instructions, but the side with the harness was a B@$%.i don't think it locked back i to place after i put it in
Careful when removing older plastic, tabs prone to breakage. 😅
Thanks a lot.
Adis Alem No problem at all!
Worse place EVER EVER EVER for a fuse box.
thanks

The easy way is to remove the whole big panel first & not the small one.
