    I was glad he decided he didn't need the money anymore to spend more time with his kid. He should've known that this was his job, this is not Daddy Daycare. My final question is why wasn't the kid in school?

    This guy LaRoche wants to teach his son about "character" yet he decides to quit just because they told him he could no longer bring his kid to work.

    • @6sneezy9
      @6sneezy9 8 років тому +8

      That's pretty brave to walk away from a multi million dollar contract. What are you talking about "doesn't build character' he's showing the kid the right thing to do.

    • @nathanwahr7802
      @nathanwahr7802 8 років тому +12

      No he's not. He should be teaching him that you don't always get what you want because sorry, but that's just how life is. Wasting an outstanding God-given talent like that is disgraceful, not to mention he'll miss out on big money. What a jackass

    • @bluemeltedpopsicle
      @bluemeltedpopsicle 7 років тому +12

      Seems pretty consistent to me. He was showing his son that he's more important than some game or a sum of money.

    • @fallen4life080
      @fallen4life080 7 років тому +3

      Money is not the issue here, it's essentially showing your son that if you don't get what you want, just walk away from your dream. LaRoche is a classy guy and doesn't care about the money. He cares about the game. He made it seem like he had to choose between his career and family when they just told him to cut back on bringing his son. Adam could have easily chosen his career while teaching his son other lessons.
      he said in another interview "family comes first" but thats not the point, you can still have your career and family first.

  • @realplayer54
    @realplayer54 3 роки тому +3

    It's not like he wasn't already rich. He turned down the LAST year of his contract after a ten year career. I think he'll be okay.

  • @fallen4life080
    @fallen4life080 7 років тому +32

    Adam is a classy guy, but his justification doesn't equate with the moral he tried to teach his son. He essentially told his son to be stubborn when you don't get what you want and ignore all professionalism when your job rightfully asks you to focus on the job more while cutting back on what was already a privilege of bringing a family member into work with you everyday.
    The White Sox didn't make him choose between his son and his career. It's simple; LaRoche had a job to do, he signed a contract, and it's a place of business. His family would be there when he gets home.

    Oh, and no one’s son should be allowed to show up to their dad’s job every day. Shouldn’t he be in school? He’s got his job to grow as a kid and you have yours to make the money for the family. I get a special occasion it’s cool, but every day? You’re out of your mind. I wouldn’t want my son with me at my job. When I’m on the clock, shit gets serious. When I’m off the clock, it’s time to enjoy my family life.

Having his son their to help out other players while getting to spend time with his dad after school obviously. Just cause it boggles your mind doesn’t mean it boggles his. He also did it for years

      Beyond weird. LaRoche couldn't play anymore and he used this as an excuse to exit. This came to a head because other players went to management and had it. It was the WS fault for allowing it in the first place.

    Boyer still plays! He’s a free agent while LaRoche bitched out. It’s my fucking dream along with millions of others to play in the MLB yet he decides to call it a “fantasy world”. I can’t believe it. He had everything anyone would ever want. It’s fine, he wasn’t that great anyways.

    • @ReidTheRulesGuy
      @ReidTheRulesGuy 2 роки тому

      You realize your dream IS a fantasy world? Like those are practically interchangeable.
      Plus, the man played for 10years. If he walked away at the start of the season you wouldn't have said anything. Why is it different that he did it mid-year?
