Going in the US Capitol and walking around the tunnels on the House side

- It's been about 25 years, but I'm back inside the US Capitol today, "under the dome" so to say. I went around the House Office Buildings for a bit, exploring some of the tunnels and hallways, but then got a chance to go inside the US Capitol Visitor's Center and into the US Capitol itself. Take a look at the Dome, Statuary Hall, and the crypt without a tomb.
Show not Tell.

Beautiful stunning architecture in the tour. Happy Groundhog Day everyone! 🦫
Thank you P6, I'm seeing things I would have most likely never traveled to see!😇 Blessings to you and your family.🙏
Thank you for the tour of Capital and Washington so appreciate. ❤️👍🇺🇸
Watching P6 for 4 years. You'll get a history lesson and a lunch buddy all in one!
I agree !!
Absolutely!
Me too, i liked his daily Hong Kong walks and tours and trying out all the new weird Mcdonalds meals they had there
Dont be so fussy about your shots. I love what I see. Better than not seeing anything. I think it's all great. Enjoyed seeing it all through your lens!
Yeah that was an amazing tour. From the maze of the tunnels to the magnificence of the dome. The halls and rooms all a showcase of extraordinary work in the paintings, statues, even hardwood uncomfortable as heck desks and chairs; all examples of superb craftmanship. Kinda takes your breath away to see such work as well as wonder at the toil of doing so. Tires out even the imagination
Wow! Rotunda is Awesome! Really learned a lot today. Magnificent, thank you.
Statues are magnificent, the work on the walls & ceilings, are masterful.
What history lessons I get, watching your videos. Beautiful buildings 😊
We sure spent a lot of money on all this pomp and silliness.
Almost like stepping back in time. Appreciate the tour. It was great. 🌻
Thanks for sharing. I learned a lot . I never knew a lot that you shared. I had about the train often wondered what it looked like.
Really enjoyed the history lesson today
Hello Mr P, thank you for the guided tour, much appreciated as always.
Coat and tie medics.
To me this was the coolest video. As cool as all the special press pass events have been, this is cooler! Thanks P6. I can't even imagine what the as-built plans must look like for that facility. Blows my mind.
Members only area in tunnels with black and white checkerboard floor. Hmm What could that mean? Pray for the children.🙏
My people were at the Capitol yesterday. They were at Arlington this morning.
THIS is so great!! Loved the tunnel tours and you playing tourist in somewhere you used to work!
P6, you cease to amaze me...... I learn so much from you wirh each and every video you post. . Your an encyclopedia of hisrory. Thanks for sharing your knowlegde and expertise on Washington.

Watching this again after the premiere, I really enjoyed it. It was interesting and different. Thank you for the tour
Thanks for the tour! Awesome 😎 inside view
Its a good visit there in the Visitor's Center. The cafeteria there is where my students ate.
Beautiful building. Very interesting. Thanks for the tour!
Fabulous tour of the USA Capital. Thank You
Thank you for this wonderful tour! It's been fifty three years since I spent my weekends there when I was off duty as a soldier. I've always wanted to revisit but haven't been able to. I've been in almost every national site since I spent so much time there, but DC has way too much for anyone to experience unless you have months. 😄
Thank you P6, great tour.
Thank you very much for going into The Capitol. The Rotundra room. I loved the tour!
Thank you that was interesting I appreciated it much grattitude for showing all this to us.
Hi P6! One of your fans sent me here! ^_^ /
If you like architecture, Capitol is the place to go
Thank you!! Been a long time since I was in the capital. Was there with the Close Up foundation 40 years ago!
Boy all those electric vehicles in the motorcades sure are quiet 😀. Going through the halls and opening doors reminded me of the intro to Get Smart 😂. Thank you for the tour P6, always appreciated.
I loved this video. I'll never have the chance to visit the places you show to us and I think this one was the very best. Thank you.
That was a Fantastic Tour! TyVm
That's interesting on the statue of South Dakota. I have been to her grave sight. At Fort Washakie in Wyoming. Somewhere around 20 years ago. Her and her son are barried there. Yet. There was a battle between the Fort and South Dakota. Who really knows where she really is. Yet. Back then, the headstone of her and her son was at the cemetery at Fort Washakie.
Super! Loved the tour!
Truly gorgeous, thanks for sharing P6
Crazy, thats the Mayor from my City, Northglenn Colorado taking selfies with Senator Booker. That was totally random seeing her in this video.
Thanks for the tour.
*P6 Penguinsix walking around tunnels on the house side appreciate your videos Listening 🌼From Mass USA TYVM 🇺🇸 P6 Andrew*
Great tour. I forgot how beautiful the dome is. I haven't been in the Capitol Building since the 1990's. After 9/11 I went there, the visitor's center was brand new and open, but they weren't allowing tours yet so I didn't get to see it that trip. My later trips I focused on the museums and areas away from the Capitol and White House.
My friends Mom use to work for a Ohio Senator this was back in the late sixties we would play in the tunnels while she was at work...........
It's like a big mall
Sometimes, there's donuts🤣
Thanks P6 🐧🥂🥂🥂
Talk about Bomb Shelters, during the Cold War a whole underground Complex complete with House and Senate Chambers plus dorm and staff quarters was built under and into the mountain at the Greenbrier Hotel on the Virginia - West Virginia boarder.
The Thunder Mountain 🏔️ area of Virginia had an underground White House Complex built.
Today Site R in Pennsylvania serves as the bug out Government Complex, near Camp David MD.
And there is a likely new bunker under the West Wing as evidenced by two vents, and the construction that occurred under the the West Wing section of the White House during the Obama administration.
@@trapdoorspringfieldmodel1888 well FDR put in the first Bunker during WW2. When the Greenbrier (for Congress) and Mount Weather in Virginia (President) were built during the 50s,60s they wanted to enlarge the PEOC under the South Lawn during Eisenhower, he had the money appropriated, but nixed the construction because he did not want the bother, when JFK went in then the South Lawn was redone completely expanding the Bunker, how much it was enlarged During Truman's WhiteHouse Reconstruction has not been openly published.
@@ablewindsor1459 The funny part about the Greenbrier bunker is how part of it was also functioning as part of the Greenbrier's entertainment space even though the bunker was active. The PEOC is the only current active major bunker beyond Cheyenne Mountain that we have any real idea of how it looks thanks to the few photos that were released after 9/11.
It is just that I remember after 9/11 the government reevaluated the White House bunker and in the last year of Bush and continued under Obama a major construction project occurred under the West Wing area of the White House. The media didn't ask questions about it even though it was right there in front of them. When they were done building all one could see of the project was just a couple of vents. What they built hasn't been publicly stated, but my hunch is that they were doing work on the underground bunker system.
@@trapdoorspringfieldmodel1888 Hiding in Plain Site ruse. Lol And finally they had the chance to totally rebuild the Electronic systems for the Bunker Complex ...remember the Building that does not exist that P6 has shown several times, I wonder just how many new personal the Army Signals Unit (Whitehouse Switchboard) that serves the WhiteHouse now has on duty .....
Some pictures of Site R have been Published, and they have been working on Mount Weather AGAIN.
That was so great I would have never saw that but you are a GOD sent for that so great to see it have alway heard of it . Thank you I realy enjoy it
Thank you for the show , stay warm and stay safe .Hope to see you soon !!!
Nice old painting from the past
It's pronounced "Wash-a-key" for the big Chief Washakie from Wyoming. I was born and raised there.
Have you ever done a night time drive around video to see DC in the lights?
Beautiful video. Thank you.

Lots of overkill spending in DC that’s for sure. EMS in suits, crazy. Thanks for the views.
Still a shoeshine stand? You didn’t need a pass to be there? How do you know this place so well?
I worked in the House of Representatives for nearly a decade, long ago.
Good exercise
Wow!!! 🤩 So cool 😎!!! Thanks 😊 a lot Penguin 🐧!!!

What's the sidecar use for on the police escort bikes?
@penguinsix has explained in the past that they are used for balance during the winter months

What a beautiful building/complex. One could stay there all day and still not see everything! A very rich historical document. Thank you. (p.s. greetings from British Columbia, Canada)
wow thats amazing thanks
I'm an American citizen living here in Manila Philippines ok

Thanks for the tour
I am ready for the Rotunda to be in non-use shortly… too much horrific happenings under that dome in the tunnels has occurred - God Save Our Children from these sick people
Not many people…
Huh? Where?
Steak and shake would become my daily burger and fries ‼️🇺🇸👏
One meal a day‼️🍔🍟☕️
quick questin, awesome vid btw, how do you know when the motercade is supposed to come through?
The President's schedule is publicly available. You can just google to and figure out when he is moving around town.
@@Penguinsix ok thanks. How do I know which road he goes on because I have seen his motorcade before, or do they not say?
I live in Maryland before and never been in capitol building ok
How do you have access to the capital building?
The office buildings are open to the public. The Capitol requires a tour ticket.
Thanks sir Steve Sir
Look maw, no sirens… good job MPD. Well almost.
Was that Spartacus? I’ll be!
overkill
That underground looks more confusing then the Pentagon
Exciting to be inside the US Capitol bldg. You sure know your way around well in DC. Thanks for this educational experience.🙋
Thanks for touring me Steve
whats the purpose of the rotunda?
How does one get press credentials to cover events? Can start up news media companies just get press credentials or is it a bit tougher to do.
The Press Galleries have their own requirements and review applications. New outlets have to be around and take almost a year to get approved. Existing outlets (NYTimes, CNn, etc) can get new people credentialed in about a month
@@Penguinsix That's a crazy amount of work! But I understand its like anything else.
I imagine the more viewers a news organization has the more likely they are to get approved.
When was this video? Seems to be a couple years ago not now
February 2, 2023
They got policemen
and thank you for sharing this.. wow i was just thinking it would be cool to go inside there. ...if you ever watched the West Wing lol it would be so cool if you could find the "Steam Pipe Trunk Distribution Venue" down in the basement :D
Food court Steve
Everything in DC has become creepy IMO once you start looking at all the symbolism.
Who is from Colorado, Andrew?
