The traffic at DC is the worst. We were there this past Spring Break. You guys are much brave than us with hopping fences. Never knew these were here. Crazy they just dumped it here. I learn so much from your channel.
I had no idea they were there! Thank you for sharing this!
That's really cool. I was unaware the capitol building was changed like that. I like how they setup the columns.
This was a nice departure from your typical California adventures that you guys are known for. Good work and well done for giving us a look at some out of the way history most people do not know about. It reminds me of the Greak, Roman and Egyptian ruins scattered throughout the Mediterranean and is a good reminder that all empires fall when they no longer adhere to the principles that they were founded on. The "American experiment" of self-governing (We the People) will be no different.
Drew grew his hair back in a week! Thanks for this video. I grew up in Yorktown, Virginia and visited DC as a kid. Never knew about this side.
y'all need to make a tv show you two are so entertaining to watch!
Be sure to check out the Smithsonian. It will take several days to do it right. A well-kept secret is the National Cryptologic Museum. The inner harbor in Baltimore is also awesome with the National Aquarium and great Italian and seafood restaurants. DC is a great place to explore.
The Joseph Coors mentioned is the grandson of brewer Adolph Coors, according to Wikipedia. He died in 2006 out in Rancho Mirage.
I love seeing small remnants of construction history. Just imagine the original humans that crafted this stuff.
Love this. I was in DC two years ago and never heard about these stones. Now I have to go back!
Absolutely remarkable, Bethany and Drew! The majority of Americans, myself definitely included, probably had no idea that the oddities you featured today even existed. Wow! 👍❤
What a surprise... I wasn't aware of these sites and old Capitol Building remnants. What a great adventure from Oddity Odysseys 👍
The Georgia marble and granite actually came from Tate Georgia.
Love y'all's show be safe.
What a great find! I like the way the columns stand grand in their space with the water feature below. Hopefully the rest of the stones get preserved somehow.
Fun and different episode. Glad to see you getting out beyond your California locales. Great to see Bethany wearing an appropriate "I heart... " tee shirt. Keep up the good work.
Your stupid, she always wear a shirt with the city name.
Two LA folks saying DC roads are wierd. OK. Love your stuff! Great video keep them coming!
Absolutely love this! I have a bucket list and touring DC is on it. This will be included now! Thank you!
Amazing nugget of history!!! Thank you both ❤❤:)
Have a pair of bookends made from the sandstone scraps. They were sold in a Capitol souvenir shop in the late 70s. 🇺🇸
Great video! I lived there for 4 years and never heard of these places! Thanks for sharing!
The columns are awesome, great to see the way they're being preserved. It's unfortunate the rest of the pieces were just dumped but i guess without a plan there wasn't much use for them.
This episode is really full of new information, at least for me. The sculpted sandstones are extraordinary. I was happy to see that the columns are displayed in a beautiful area with proper honor and care. Great job sharing a bit of US history!
Greetings Bethany, Drew, your families, friends and Oddity Odysseys Fans. Thank you never knew there were pieces of the U.S. Capitol building. But really don't understand way someone needs to take care of the stones like the columns! I mean this is history!
Everyone take care, and have a wonderful Christmas!
Episodes of intense violence ? 🤔
Yeah, I also saw that. Yet these two documented themselves trespassing on federal property. Talk about hypocrisy.
Did you not hear about the Jan 6 putsch? Maybe acquaint yourself with facts and reality. Just because tRump supporters are incompetent morons doesn't mean it wasn't an insurrection.
Thanks for sharing. Love it when one discovers ruins near major tourist attractions. 🌻😀
I love DC. I wish I could stay six months and just visit museums, and monuments. Another great video!
Great to see another find from around the US. Something most probably never knew exists and just as interesting as the numerous monuments in DC.
When you go to Washington DC, you can’t just see one monument
You have to see the Mall.😎👍
Another Awesome video. I was in D C many years ago and I enjoyed it. Some day, I will take my kids there so they can see and learn some history.
I just love watching your videos ❤. You both show us all a lot of interesting things.
Very cool! I never knew about this piece of history. Nicely done guys!
Thank you so much!
"ePiSoDeS oF iNtEnSe ViOLeNcE..." 🙄🤫🤣🤣
Hi guys, more ‘interesting history’ than oddity but a great episode, thanks guys, keep up the good work, love your channel.
I had no idea these ruins existed! So cool. Thanks for sharing!
Love the video, going to DC is on my bucket list of places to go to
Very nice and interesting episode. Live outside of DC and this is all new to me.
Excellent episode!!
Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Forgotten history but glad to see it is preserved.
Great show Guys!
Great video! I’m amazed and never knew they were dumped like trash…. Welcome to the East coast
very cool!
Very interesting video , thanks for sharing. It’s sad how much money they wasted on the renovation process.
I haven't got the stones for that kind of exploring :)
You guys do a lot of cool stuff but for some reason this is the coolest to me. Like... omg? Do people-... do people know about these??? This is so insane to me, I MUST go see these ruins before they're moved
Oddity Odysseys goes national! So cool to see you guys branching out. Is this something that may happen more frequently? :)
Let's just say we'll be in some new territory over the next batch of episodes. 😁 Thank you so much for the support, our friend. 🙏💕
@@OddityOdysseys sweet! Look forward to it and of course always, you guys rock! 😆🙌🙏
That's cool, thanks much.
Guh`Morning O.O.
Happy Saturday
G' Mornin', our friend.
*_Friggin' awesome!
(1) Great to see to see you two traveling outside o f Cali. Time to go International!
(2) Kudos for the "X-Files; Fight The Future" reference
(3) Based on this video, I can only logically conclude the stones are being moved to Area 51.
(4) Tackle the "DaVinci Code" before you get to the airport (5) Seriously fun video, keep up the good work & stay safe out there!_*
Truly an Oddity Odyssey ...
Welcome to my neck of the woods! Judging by the comments, you two stirred up a hornets nest 😂 So many cool things in DC, but I'm sure you figured that out. Cheers 💯
5:28 A hidden message to future generations😃
What a nice break from your norm. Thanks so much for your video efforts. .......Russell D.
Thanks, Russell!
Interesting... I did notice that your shirt say I love DC compared to I love LA hmm a little bit Sus to me. 😅 LoL I understand sometime you have to explore... 👍🏻😷👍🏿🇨🇦🇵🇭🇺🇲
Thank you to both!!!! 👍🏻😷👍🏿🇨🇦🇵🇭🇺🇲
Government Agents: "GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! You know too much!"
On the last Oddity Odyssey: CIA black site
"We're not Mulder and Scully..." They wouldn't give a second thought to hopping the fence...they're FBI agents! 🙂 Actually, considering how easy it was to get in there I wouldn't be surprised if more than a few people have gone home with a souvenir chunk or two. Seeing the Capitol Columns, the first thing that comes to mind are the Windsor Ruins in Mississippi just off the Natchez Trace.
This is not what I was expecting. Nevertheless, this is an awesome video.
😊👍
*I LOVE Diss Couple!*
3:29 Drew, dude: honestly, you have no idea. 🙄
4:37 LBJ: the facial expression of a man who hears the urgent call of nature...
5:55 An inscription for the ages...🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Typically, the 'government' concerned itself with self-immortalization (i.e., sandstone to marble), rather than using the tons of funds to benefit the American population. Bad Career Move. 👎🏻👎🏻
6:12 Far left: runes on the sandstone are not typically graffiti tags
8:10 TANIS (and Karnak and Luxor, and Persepolis) vibes from this site.
9:07 'Freedoms and opportunities', coming from the legendarily racist Coors family, is cringe-inducing. (The 'Holland' given name, however, certainly checks out ☑)
9:15 '...Donors, or patrons...', or something else entirely.
THANKS, Muldur and Scully! (ps: if you're moving, and the drizzly weather is making you feel 'more at home'--does this mean Outta El Ay?) 🤔💭
Rock Creek Park is where the remains of Chandra Levy were found. She was a Congressional staffer that was murdered in 2001 (?). I won't take the low road and make this political, like you two did with your intro.
In case the White House needed restoration? 6:45
The White House is made of the same kind of sandstone, as the capitol stones. So they could still be used to repair the white house.
Thanks!
Thank you so much, Jesse!
I hope you're not staying in WA D.C.. Just a few blocks from the White House is a total ghetto.
Jan 6 was intense violence. So 9/11 was for amateurs? Just wanted clarification. Please
Thanks. Now people will go and desecrate that spot. Graffiti and other nice things. Stop posting coordinates. Sounds like you just love attention
Plenty of locals already know these places. It's not a new "discovery". There is more architectural detrious in Ft Washington, MD.
Yup, you lost me at “episodes of extreme violence”. Did you see the DO NOT ENTER sign? Well thanks for documenting your illegal actions.
do you got kids?
I voted against Trump twice and I think that image of people holding Trump signs was uncalled for.
Come on guys. You're showing people holding Trump banners when you say there were episodes of intense violence? I'd say that's quite a stretch.
Yeah wtf was that all about .. but what do you expect look at them they are stereotypical LA liberals
😂😂😂
Triggered little snowflakes.
Deny, deny, deny. Own up to your actions, you bunch of 🤡s.
Trump supporters injured over 100 officers on jan 6th and we all saw the footage of that cop being brutally beaten with a flag poll. You guys are so pathetic.
@@Marc_hammil It's sad so many people are brainwashed by the fake news.
MAGA
MAGATs
Thanks for ruining what could have been a great video by not being able to refrain from bashing trump and his supporters
