Unfortunately I can't take a sports car in the dunes or mudding. And that's just to get to a spot to park and set up camp . The v-8 sure is nice to have when spinning a 35" tire
It’s not like the Hemi is a great engine, The early Hemis were more durable ,the 09 and newer, not so much. The MDS system has been nothing but problems, they eat the cams and lifters and self destruct, the bottom end of the engine shortly after due to the metal circulating in the oil.then there’s the broken exhaust manifold studs and bolts every 30k miles or so,another poor design.

@@christrarback9748 The Ford ecoboost engine has been around for a while now and that thing continues to have a slew of problems. Overheating, carbon buildup, wet belt issues. In fact those ecoboost problems are so common that Ford has multiple class action lawsuits against them specifically due to it's engine. Toyota/Lexus also has a new V6 flagship engines for their trucks/suv's and right out of the gate it also has issues where the engine grenades and now they have issued a recall. So not a good start for these V6 turbo engines across the board for the most popular brands. Having said that, I'm not confident in Stellantis coming up with a problem free hurricane.
Tfltruck shows under high load on a long grade the more powerful inline 6 actually uses a bit more fuel. It's also got a bit more power to spare, especially at altitude. I look forward to seeing how the reliability is with direct injection only. Most manufacturers are using port and direct injection now to help mitigate intake valve filth from EGR and PCV vapours. Maybe that's going to be a future update.
Pretty good comparison but i think the v8 wouldve been atleast 1/2 a second quicker if it had 4 auto. I think the v8 also has an edge on fuel economy because it doesnt need premium fuel and the etorque system is better in the city.
I like the Ram trucks but I still give the Ford overall as my choice. That new inline Hurricane 6 cylinder is quick but a Ford F150 with coyote v8 or Powerboost engine is quicker. The Ford also has a better payload and towing numbers. I am not sure about mpg but I would think the Fords a winner there also. But I do think the new Rams are very nice trucks.
For the people saying the oil pressure is low on the hurricane and it should be higher , most have forgotten its a completely different engine , a 3 liter motor is gonna have lower pressure then 5.7 liter thats common sense its a smaller motor . the 3.0L ecoboost ran the same way with lower oil pressure
That’s not the way oil pressure works all engines should have the same oil pressure as the oil filter is equipped with a by pass valve in case the oil pressure gets to high also it’s a twin turbo which if 8 am not mistaken is oil cooled which should increase the oil pressure even further. I didn’t notice the oil pressure I’ll go back and look but it should be in the same range as the hemi if not a little higher
Oil pressure has nothing to do with engine size, it’s engine oiling system design, oil pump, rpm, oil viscosity, bearing clearances, temperatures, etc…
low end grunt? my guess is the 3.0 turbo makes more low end grunt BY FAR over the natural engine.there is some minor work as far as timing the shifts and things but over time there will be no comparison...the 3.0 will beat the hemi everywhere.. my 3.0 questions revolve around it getting to 200k without issue NOT how its sounds
I will never buy another Mopar or ram again. It doesn’t have a hemi in it. I think you’ll find the fans of Mopar won’t be purchasing these either and Dodge will go out of business and ram Hopefully Stellas wises up or sells Chrysler or somebody else
Its about MONEY and always will be about MONEY... the inline motor is CHEAPER to manufacture... inline motors needs to be BOOSTED in order to out perform a natural aspirated v8... notice the inline doesn't get much better gas mileage .... comparison of an inline BOOSTED motor to a natural aspirated V block ... is comparing apples vs oranges... BOOSTING a V block WILL outperform any BOOSTED INLINE.... this inline only really boost the manufacturers BOTTOM LINE
I'll take the turbo anyday, more power with more power available with a tune. I don't need the sound of a v8 ticking away (literally, lmfao). Besides, I turn the radio up anyways..
A boosted inline loses character.. it loses the attitudes... it loses soul... it's like clint eastwood with a mickey mouse voice... or arnold schwarzenegger with a womens voice... i cannot respect it
We will see longevity wise, plenty of 5.7l I see with 200k miles or more. I Still love a nice N/A V8 with power.

V8 Gets much better mpg on 35s vs the v6 too
Love the new camera set up.
I just can’t get over getting a smaller engine over a v8 for long haul and overall longevity I just can’t 😒

You should do a tow test with your race trailer with the hurricane.
3.92 is a higher gearing, not a lower gearing. I’ve heard you making that mistake on other videos. Hope you get it right on the next one !
Nissan titan has convex mirrors on both sides. With or without the tow mirrors

Problem is Fords are built like crap. The old days of Fords being durable or reliable are way way behind them..

Six cylinder is still a six cylinder, no thank you.
All 5th gen rebels have 3.92 gears
Ram will eventually go bankrupt. Not having a V8 is going to kill the company.
