Proof that SP isn't only about technical wizardly, challenging time signatures, and complex musical ideas. This is a beautiful, harmonic, and simple tune, that's all about groove, and feel. Oh yeah, and still has challenging voicings, wonderful collaborative playing, a masterful arrangement with challenging soli sections, and clever, heartfelt solos. Another intriguing original!

YEEEEEESSSSS! This is the one I wanted to see. My absolute favorite track from Empire Central. I wasn't even sure it was recorded live because the mix is so damned clean and I heard no audience noise at all. They were probably all too stunned to do anything. I surely would have been. And thanks for answering a few questions I had regarding the percussion. I was wondering where that "long hi-hat" was coming from (it's some weird cymbal stack with rings all over it) and also wanted to know who did that absolutely sick-but-tasty ride-cymbal riff at 4:01 (Larnell...should have guessed).

W O W ! ! ! Absolutely stunning!!I didn't think they could equal Lingus, but this is a total winner. Great rhythm, great harmonies, great - hell - great everything!! Keyboard solo is just astonishingly wonderfully beautiful. THANKS GUYS !!!

Yessss - oh my yes. I've been pining for this one ever since I first heard it. It feels impossible to pick, but this song might be my favorite of the whole album. It's so thicc and deep. But sophisticated and articulate. Fuck. So good. I want to hear every other take of this. It's really fun to hear this song again but with my eyes truly open. Bobby Sparks is so crucial to this song and I love how it's built.

Bobby's sound here is like musical mud/clay.
The bedrock on which the song walks.
