Lyrics:
Lost as I may be
Oh, in the fog of my own noise and triviality
Grand Holy Mother, grant me clarity
I am standing on the edge of forever
Forever
One among infinity
Witnessing the majesty
Calm in this humility
Witnessing the majesty
Hope as far as one can see
Witnessing the majesty
Witnessing the majesty
Witnessing the majesty
Standing on the edge of forever
Blessed be
This reawakening
Grand Holy Mother, end my deathly slumber, to
Stand fearless on the edge of forever
Forever
One among infinity
Witnessing the majesty
Calm in this humility
Witnessing the majesty
Hope as far as one can see
Witnessing the majesty
Witnessing the majesty
Witnessing the majesty
Witnessing the majesty
Witnessing the majesty
Witnessing the majesty
Standing on the edge of forever
Hope
Hope as far
As one can see
As one can see
Hope
Hope as far as
As one can see
As one can see
Hope
Hope as far as
As one can see
As one can see
In 1995, Maynard made a guest appearance on "Mr Show with Bob and David." One thing led to another, and now I am listening to a classical Indian singer fronting a brass-rock cover band on constant repeat.
Life is weird man.
OM
David cross opened up for them
Just been to BøB Ødenkirk - live.
It. Was. 🔥.
It's all 'A Perfect Circle' in the end. 😉
@@sonofaseawarrior like the circle of fifths.
I don't want to call Brass Against a cover band. They are reinventing. So amazing.
I'm genuinely amazed this song was written by Maynard James Keenan. He seems like the kind of person who has been doing a hell of a lot of soul searching and self reflection over the decades of being a musician. He can still make a song filled with the most eloquently distilled rage you can imagine, but he can also make this. More angry city folk should try living in the desert for a bit.
You must not have been around during his A Perfect Circle days
@@TommyboyGTP i was around for and owned Opiat. Owned the first several perfect circle albums, and first couple puscifer.
Trogdor is right you know.
Did you ever make it past Undertow? Aenima has its angry moments, but its deeply spiritual and self actualizing moments, as well. And Lateralus is possibly the most wholesome rock album ever made. That’s 96’ and 01’.. he’s been writing this kind of stuff for a long time.
I’m an old man. I thought my metal/alternative/funk/grunge/hiphop days were over but this band keeps introducing me to new amazing music and I could not be more appreciative. Thank you Brass Against!
Music never dies lives in the soul. Even a deaf person holds rhythm. Walk without rhythm and you won’t attract the worm.
An Indian classical vocal cover of Puscifer by Brass Against. I can safely die now!! This is was bril-fucking-lant!!!
In the last few years Puscifer has come roaring up from out of nowhere to become one of my favorite things. I want to see more covers and reactions and people talking about this band. And I need the more close minded "Every second Tool is not making a new record is a waste of time and nothing else matters" fans to bugger off, and accept that what Maynard, Carina, and Mat are creating is every bit as valid, and maybe, in my opinion, connects on an even deeper level. For me. I still love Tool. It's just that I've rarely been quite as riveted, even by most of the other things I enjoy, as I was when I found Puscifer.
The way I’ve always seen it is that Tool speaks to my mind while Puscifer speaks to my heart. They both give me something to feel and for that I love them both. Music of this quality should not be ignored especially because of something so malleable as your opinion.
I happened to discover Puscifer when they released V is for Vagina, and I've watched every record get progressively better. It's been quite the journey.
Wholeheartedly agree
That’s like.. your opinion, man..
@@royalkuhnt8216 Puscifer is great and as a tool fan since the nineties i lowkey put Puscifer above Tool. Still i feel they came out of the gates swinging and V is their best record to date.
Unreal! I had goosebumps throughout the whole song.

Same man, chills and tingles
I came to comment the same thing. Just WOW...
Same
I was skeptical, but this is a brilliant cover that I never knew I wanted.
I actually enjoyed this cover more than the original Puscifer track... I am just, blown away.
Right!? And I agree with Mike Boaz, better than the original.
This is a prayer for me, it makes me very happy that you have sung it with so much respect and love.
Absolutely stunning. Her roots shining through in her tone and voice wow. You might have surpassed the OG. Wow. Just wow.
Why can't I upvote this more than once? This is f*ing beautiful!
I just got chills all over.
You can’t go wrong with anything written by the great Maynard James Keenan! This is gorgeous… ❤️🔥
Hearing my people's music in the music of Brass. Awesome work as always. Can we have more of Roopa please?
I love your people's music. It is very beautiful. Thank you.
who are 'your people' and what is their music u speak of?
Really awesome interpretation of the song. The Indian touch blends perfectly with the original. You guys always nail the covers and I can't wait to hear what's next.
If your referring to the vocals, I believe they are actually South Asian; more specifically Indian. That said, I could be wrong in my assessment as I'm far from an expert, and it's also a possibility that these vocal styles are similar enough or cross influenced enough that the distinction is purely academic. I agree with you though, the unique style of those vocal runs really fits the song in a way I hadn't expected.
@@julianweir3030 yep. Indian.
It is indian.
Specifically south indian.
@@sharmaadwit Thanks for the clarification.
This is awesome. I hope Maynard and Carina hear it. Whoever chooses the tunes Brass Against cover seems to have my taste in music.
For sure they have. Brass Against toured with them in Europe
This is BEYOND MAGNIFICENT!!! I'm LITERALLY SOBBING!!
I grew up with RATM and Tool then naturally, I fall in love with Brass... But this! This is another level. For forty years or so I never had a favorite or 'best' song..until now. Beautiful. The best 6 minutes of your life.
Had no idea what to expect. Am grateful I clicked. Thanks for this. This was the perfect way to start off my weekend. Beautifully done!
We need a Schism cover with Sophia Urista!
This is an amazing cover. Especially someone covering the genius of Maynard. Absolutely spectacular. 👌
This might legitimately be the best composition Brass Against has ever done.
This is absolutely and truly beautiful. The song itself a testament to humanity's desperate innate desire to be one with the universe and then this cover a testament to Puscifer's raw power and talent to take an entire room of people to recreate something along the same level. Insanely well done.
I was completely entranced by this. Beautiful in every way and amazing execution. Thank you for starting my day in the best way.
Impressive! That Carina's a hard act to do justice
One thing they kept true to the original was Carina's tone.
I loved this song to begin with, but every time I hear this version of it, I get chills.
King Midas who? .....everything you guys touch turns to gold. 🤙
I knew what cover this was by the title and I was pleasantly surprised that I was right. This is beautiful and everything
lady , i never in world that i live in have heard a voice so clear and trained as you . thank the angles for this gift . thanks youtube for recomending !
Wow. Thank you for this. I didn't know this song could get better.
That ethereal wail at the end... 😝
You feel like you are flying through crags and crannies of the canyon itself... 😮
Phenomenal cover. Truly. 👏
Such a beautiful plethora of sonic bliss! Puscifer is one of my favorites and this song is one I put on when I get caught up in a lack mentality. Thank you.
I wish I could do more to support Brass Against to make sure it goes on forever. In fact I will contact Montreal Jazz Fest and ask them to bring you guys in for the next edition.
Roopa's and Sophia's singing is very beautiful. My whole body got chills.
It's been a long time since music gave me goosebumps. I am in awe...
Kyuss - Catamaran is my proposition for next song. It`s so much spiritual or..."Demon cleaner" :D
I second Demon Cleaner
This almost got tears out of me. Unfuckingbelievably beautiful.
almost?? i don’t know how they can perform this song without crying
this is the proper instrumentation for a song with this much depth thank you
I'm so beyond happy to see such a brilliant, well-placed South/West Asian take on Maynard's vocals. Ever since I first heard the song, I noticed the similarity in the undulations, and this just took it full circle. This was an insanely cool cover!
On point awesome as always. Dare I ask for Tool's Pneuma?
When I saw the Brass Against thumbnail, I knew it would be amazing...but wow!!! This was a whole new level of amazing that I didn't know existed! Elite tier 100%!
I’m going to replay it.. forever
Drums!!!! Less is more!! Really did this track justice!
Love MJK. Love Puscifer. Love “Grand Canyon”! And I love this cover so much!!! I’m beyond thrilled that Brass Against is opening for the new Tool tour. Can’t wait!
This is so beautyful. Your spirit`s so strong. Thx for your music...giving me goosebumps.
This is one of those covers that makes you reassess a whole band that you didn't really dig first time round.
Beautiful vocals, beautiful sound. Great job!
This clip was forwarded to me by a friend. Until now I’d never heard of this ensemble. I’m officially hooked. Lots to unpack here.
Not an easy song to cover, but you maniacs did it.
You got the right people in, you did the work and here we have a masterpiece.
The chills, man. I'm going to just replay this for now.
Wao,!!!! that's insane.
What a great version! Holy cow! All the Hindu elements and your voices... Creat a splendid atmosphere that transported my soul far beyond of the Great Canyon! Thank you guys!
Man, fusion doesn't even begin to describe this awesome cover. So many different cultural sounds and influences! Beautiful!
Awesome a belated birthday gift from the awesome tones of Brass Against. Never heard this song before and I was totally impressed by it. And on a side note, the subtle smile of Sophie’s made my day.
This song is perfect! Love you all!❤
This is the greatest version of ALL TIME!!!
Superb! Lovely ensemble performance. Many thanks for sharing. Also,..... Kenny's sousa is mic'd perfectly.
One of my favorite songs covered by one of my favorite bands? I'll take it!
Mighty mighty! Letting it all hang out!
I fell in love with this band since their performance in Florida in November!
I was not expecting you to do my favourite Puscifer song. I have few words. I will be listening to this while watching Puscifer’s video for it.
eu nunca pensei que alguém pudesse fazer um cover dessa música e que fosse tão bem feito 💛
I love the diversity of humanity and all its different musical flavors. Well done, beautiful outcome.
Been a Puscifer fan forever. This is a dream come true!
The best interpretation EVER!!! you are amazing!
Listening to this a second time, on instant repeat from the first time. I'm in tears. This touched me deeply. Thank you.
Unfamiliar with puscifer but this was amazing. Powerful song. Definitely stirred up an emotional response. Awesome job. Thanks.
Awesome as usual ☺️
This version is so perfect. Thank you so much. And your concert last year in Paris was awesome.
I love the original, so I was worried at first, but this is so beautiful and it keeps the movement and drama of the original. Love it
Soooo Beautiful~!!! Thank you all!!
Super! Thank you SO MUCH for this incredible performance! See you in Cologne, stay healthy.
YES! This is amazing. More Puscifer please!
This is a f****** MASTERPIECE! I'm glad I found this video!
Didn't expect this song to get covered - amazing Puscifer album, please tell me there's more of this coming
Wow! Six minutes can go so fast. Awesome
amazingly well done! Great job
At first I was like where is Bae (Sofia) then I listened and it made sense, then I saw her in the back line anyway so it was cool. Love this cover. Any plans to come back to the UK when covid is done?
Vocals at 5:40 are nuts.. killer cover, loved it all!
This is magic! ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks to all involved in this gorgeous and imaginative cover!
this is one of the best covers i ´ve ever heard!!! beautiful!
YES!!!! Such a surreal song, and you guys always plug in your own take wonderfully.
Finally some recognition for Puscifer
Best cover of a song I’ve ever heard
Re-listening to this song now in 2022 with goosebumps and tears in my eyes... I don't think I've ever been this hopeful, for humanity for all of us. Hopeful, but not pathetic. Hopeful, yet not passive. The global spiritual awakening is happening, slowly but surely.
I have faith that you will join in soon, brother and sister, to become a part of the solution for our common absolution of all the sins that we have committed to our Mother and all its children over the centuries.
Was not expecting a Puscifer track, or in this style, when I heard that BA had dropped a new one...
Phenomenal cover. 😲🤪👏
Sublime choice in both song & singer. (That wailing at the end set my skin on 🔥 - 👌🏼)
Maynard's line of 'Hope - as far as one can see...' is so perfectly telling, as per... 🤨
I've been to the Grand Canyon and stood on the edge.
I've seen Puscifer do this song live at Roundhouse.
The Holy trinity now is to see BA live doing this asap. 3⃣
😛
Holy shizzle. This is more impactful than the original.I love Maynard and his vision. Is this what he actually wanted to do with this song?
Oh and Happy JuneTeenth to ya'll! It was nice to see Sophia harmonize with another voice and just make a smooth melodic thing of beauty! This was AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! You guys ROCK!
congratulations on winning the internet today... wow
Absolutely loved this fusion of so many differing genres. Cool as it can get.
Carnatic voice and style on this song, so friggin cool!!!beautiful arrangement. Second everyone else with goosebumps and tears in their eyes 😊
What a brilliant experience! I had goosebumps the whole time. Bravo! Thank you so much for this.
WOW😳 This is so good. Brass Against never disappoints! We all appreciate it ❤
One of my favorite albums by Puscifer and one of my favorite songs on it. This cover gave me goosebumps!! So much talent, great job to everyone involved.
This brought tears to my eyes! Absolutely sensational. 😭💜🤘
An amazing cover rendition 👏👏👏
Another great cover. You ladies nailed the sound and vibe
Oh my goodness I was not expecting any of this look at all these beautiful musicians
Damn, that was spot on. I wasn't sure how it would go but the mix was great, and the harmonies were spot on... Automatic playlist song 👍. Fingers crossed for more puscifer, such a great chance for some guest vocals and harmonies etc. Great job
I didn't like Roopa's interpretation at first but I am SO glad I listened to the end. That was great!
Reawakening never sounded so good this is so beautiful!
Simply divine, awesome.
