An indie adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness where you will assume the role of geologist William Dyer, leader of the Miskatonic University Expedition to the antarctic continent. Exploration

The game follows really well with the story. I smiled so hard when I saw the giant, albano penguins. It makes sense that the city or whatever it is has a confusing layout. In the book the geometry is confusing and doesn't make sense, which us common in Lovecraft. I didn't think of it before but the archaic writing style does match Lovecraft as well. That's why it can be weird because it's not common modern English style and Lovecraft was one of the few authors that were good at it. I like how the game matches the story. I didn't wanna talk about it and spoil it but if you're curious....
In the story the ending is the same as in this game. What happens is that Dyer keeps finding carvings and painting that tell the story and history of the city. He finds out that the things that lived there, called "Elder Things" (the green jellyfish things you found and frozen aliens in the first episode) created life on earth by accident. They also created the Shoggoths (the tentacle blob that chased you) as slaves and they rose up and killed all the Elder things. When they were flying away the other guy you were with, Danforth, looked back behind the mountains and saw something that made him go insane. It's never mentioned in the story what it is. Dyer finds paintings that show that even the Elder Things were afraid of what was behind the mountains. Some people have guessed that in the story Danforth saw Kadeth which is a Mountain where the Outer Gods live or something crazy like that and it broke his mind.
It's a cool story and I'd be happy to explain what I know about it. If you like it or this kind of story I would recommend reading "The Nameless City". It's another story about a guy discovering an ancient alien city and it's history but it's in a desert and not the artic.

In the story Dyer had a hard time figuring his away around too because the layout wasn't normal. I thought they did that part well.
I get so lost in these types of games. I end up walking in circles, lol. I have absolutely no sense of direction anymore. You definitely did better than me.
