almost all of them where in the game, the few ones I recognized where the sun, saturn, Jupiter, venus and I think europa or io i can't remember which one of the two had the robotic like sounds(i think it was io) but I could recognize it was one of the moons.
But accurately enough the sun sound was related to another sun.
Saturn was less accurate since it was related to a blue celestial body without any rings.
Jupiter's sounds where related to the planet on the title screen which is extremely similar to Jupiter.
Venus was related to a grayish planet that was really small on the navigation screen so it was also accurate.
Except for the sounds of io/europa(again cannot remember well) they where placed on planets instead of moons-

@@lioneljonson6893 oh let me clarify, I meant all the sounds that came from our solar system, the one's NASA basically encoded into sound since there's not exactly sound in space(it can't travel) but they're waves instead.
So far all planets from the solar system have been recorded including pluto and a few moons from jupiter, Saturn and even our moon.
Some sounds like the ones recorded by NASA are in the game which where the ones I mentioned.
But if you'd like to hear a fun fact, one of the first american astronauts to reach the moon described through the radio that they can hear some sounds in space, coincidentally they described it has a "boom boom" almost like a heartbeat.

      Well
      They could, but:
      A) there will be problems a simple computer can't solve- humans still haven't cracked how thoughts work and machines, even now, don't have capabilities to make concious decisions like humans.
      B) Developing such shits are more expensive than doing it the 40K servitor way, but the one inside is not lobotomized before hand.
TLDR: it's expensive plus machines can't make decisions that would benefit the mission, hop on in the spacecoffin Timmy- mankind "will remember you"

@@masterzoroark6664 well... no... it's fun for the setting but not fun and practical in reality, first humans are more squishy than electronics, if we can protect the human, we would think that we can protect the electronic better, think starlink sattelites,
Also a democratic nation (shown last of the video, "election cycle", would prioritize NOT sending humans, although it could happen in a twisted society or a critically endangered society,) and unless it is done by an unscrutable organization(oceangate uhem), you would also think it has backups and has auxillary life support or emergency life support where we flash hybernate the person if the life support is endangered....
Also for power, why not tap a little bit of the fractional lightspeed engines,?

@@masterzoroark6664 in the game it is quite simple..., maybe there is some cosmic horror that cause specifically complex computers to fail... while sparing biologically complex computers, the universe is being racist lol
Though with all this settings, one wonders, why is there only cosmic horrors and no "cosmic angels", one form of cosmic angel can be written as this, angelarium of revolt: power breaker, for we can fight anything and succeed no matter how powerful and different we are, like a character defeating the writer or an atom defeating an ontological concept, it is the force behind instability and imperfection, for something truly good cannot be forced in anyway
We may create a character, but that character may just be an existence making itself exist through us, probably and vise versa,
In some sense power itself is not intrinsically good, it forces something upon another consciousness afterall

Also I like to believe that the note about how a cell can look like a supernova, or our eyes like a nebula, implies that perhaps the entire galaxy is part of an infinitely large organism. The creature could be something like a white blood cell that patrols and kills any foreign organism. The Magella and to a lesser extent the MC's mission is to find habitable planets to colonise. In other words, their ships are like foreign organisms invading the area to help humanity spread like a cancer.

If the universe is a giant body, then travelling through it to spread would indeed be like a cancer or sickness, so this "white cell" gets activated and deals with the threat before the rest of the body can be harmed by all the germs/defective cells. Thus, the Great Filter in action.

I remember back in elementary school, we played a game in computer class that had a similar UI. It was about building the perfect planet to sustain life. A trial and error sort of game where you try one set of environmental circumstances, then watch over time to see if and how life grows. I remember one of the starter planets being 100% ocean. If anyone else remembers anything like that, I’d love to know! That game was so much fun.

The appearance of the mimic in the photos where it looks like a dyson sphere is textured in the exact way that procedural planet textures are in a 3d shader process like with Blender. The output of a voronoi function where the distance to a 3d position from any point on a sphere creates is 1) grayscale because the values lie between zero and one. 2) appears as perfectly circular crater-like dimples. I know that appearance HAS to have been chosen on purpose, and kudos for that little detail. This predator is honest to god using shader nodes to prey on interstellar survey missions.....

something I noticed that nobody comments on is that you are never specified to be human. None of the files say human. Sure, there are snapping turtles, but in an infinite universe, two things are almost guaranteed to be the same. The mimics could well be the great filter. Nothing has interstellar travel long enough to come and visit, nor radio signals, since those would attract the mimics eventually. We are alone, not because there is nobody out there, but leaving your home planet or looking for others by shooting radio signals is a death sentence, even if it does take millennia to happen.
    (Spoiler for Dead Space 3)
It's almost like the Brethren Moons. They trick intelligent life into exploring, looking for someone else, find the Markers, integrate them into their tech, and eventually become the Necromorphs and turn into a Brethren Moon themselves. Or, perhaps more favourably, become food for one.

Hmmm... people are baffled by that empty shell planet you found, the one some people said looks like "dyson sphere".
Looking that there are mimic planets- I have a theory that this was a skelleton of one of them.
And how are you going back home? You ain't- you are basically a more concious servitor.

yes it was something the developer confirmed in a video explaining what they did. the first one you encounter thats hollow is a dead member of the same species. the rest are eggs and still incubating. only the last one disguised as the habitable planet is actively alive and hunting.

I love how you have a big tube dangling from your chest and moving as you do. Such a great effect.

This game is so simple, yet you can feel the atmosphere and immerse yourself in the story with the character. What a classic game this is, no drama, no action, just suspense, patience and eeriness. I'm down to try it.

Now that this game exists, can we officially coin the term "Lung-like"?

This immediately has the same vibes to me as the space/satellite segment in the Gemini Home Entertainment ARG. Taking pictures of planets until bit by bit there's some very off stuff.

He's singing to himself. Prolonged isolation in deep space is effecting him. He was losing his own mind. Now, i cant speak for the images taken by him seconds before his death, but our scientists and engineering team have determined it was notbing more than dead pixels on his monitor. We will be sending a followup exploration craft along with the first colony ship in the next few years if you vote for me! Mako! Join me in reaching for the stars!

Love the concept and the inspiration from the sounds planets make, that stuff is fascinating

I like how the game uses sound like black holes or the sounds of Saturn to make the game eerie sounding.

cant put my finger on the why, but iam almost 39 now and games like these, even just watching them, bring me back to my early 20s. games like these, have a certain mystique about them, that fit very well playing them alone at night. something that was lost due to time for me. cant explain it. its like ive played this game with 20, in my dorm room, late at nite and still have a very vivid memory of the day and my feelings playing it
