I am newly infected with the Omnibus bug ( only have 7!) & still trying to complete Marvel Masterworks, Marvel Premiere Editions, Marvel Essentials ( yes I LOVE the phone books) , DC Rebirth HCs, and I am already always broke Bro! You are still the BEST #1 comic channel on You Tube. By far. However much you makin' you deserve more.
OMG!!! I kept waiting for this reprint. It showed me Jim Lee has serious issues drawing 12 issues consecutively. Love all the artists. Icons before they were icons.
Yes Lee does. But, regardless of ones opinion of lees art (i for one absolutley love it and i love his FF work) he is incredibly detailed and is picky so i can see why it takes him a long time. It is frustrating as a fan. He seems to work best when hes given a defined run, like 3-6 issues at a time. His JL new 52 stuff is some of my favorite of his.
I stopped collecting by the time this came out in the 90's. I was super excited when they released in Omni format a couple years ago. I've really enjoyed the run for what it is.

I definitely recommend the artwork in this Marvel Comics: Heroes Reborn Hardcover Omnibus book! Some of the Image Comics Founders draw the issues in this book! Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, and Whilce Portacio are among the artists in this book and It looks really good! I have the original Marvel Comics: Captain America, Avengers, Iron Man and Fantastic Four issues from 1996 so I know what is inside it. If you remember the comic books from the 1990s, I Recommend It!
I remember buying all the original issues when they were first released. I stopped buying them around issue 5 or 6 for each series. The stories weren't very good to be honest. This turned me off from comics for awhile, too. Can't believe Marvel keeps releasing them in all these different formats but I guess people must really like them. To each his own.
So I definitely won't be spending $100 on the Omnibus but maybe it reads better as a collection than individual monthly titles.
I ordered the standard cover,but wished I could have gotten the DM. It wasn't available from OPB though.oh well.
Wasn't originally planning on getting this, but this overview convinced me otherwise. My to read backlog has been growing like crazy for the last year
Personally I prefer the original omni's dust jacket art more. The colors are just more pleasing

Collected most of Heroes Reborn. I'm fond of this era; however, I keep waffling between whether I want the Heroes Reborn omni. Maybe to go with the eventual Onslaught omni. Then I need to get the Return omni though...
Did the female Bucky character run into some horse-man/equi-sapien creature that became a hero? For some reason I remember that.
I read those 13th issues a few months ago... the story (by James Robinson no less) is TERRIBLE, which is why it's a shame they're not collected - nobody should have to go out of their way to track them all down

Conflicted on this. I've never heard anyone say this is a good story. The best is meh. I love 90's art but do I need a glorified art book? Heck I really just want Jim Lee's art the most and from what you're saying he did only like 6 issues of the FF. This is a tough one for me.
I feel the same way. Some of Liefeld's worst excesses are included here - but I can't deny how cool that Cable/Modok issue looks
The writing is admittedly inconsistent, but there are definitely some good stories to be found in the collection. I'm particularly fond of the Galactus 4-parter. Dr. Doom appears in multiple titles, and is the best part of the book. Plus, there was a Thor vs Hulk fight that I swear was inspiration for their fight in the 2012 movie.... It's an uneven read, but it does end on a high note, and I don't regret buying my copy the last time it was printed.
I think you'd eventually be gutted if this wasn't sitting on your shelf. You can still make up your own mind if this is a good story or not.

I like Lees FF but the whole onslaught stuff was a bit much for me so I skipped to 1998 Avengers. Definitely has It's fanbase though.
Any indication of an Incredible Hulk by PAD volume 5?

I find it ironic that Rob Liefeld--who gets ripped on constantly--wrote (or at least co-wrote) the best and most cinematic re-imagined origin story in this set. Yeah, the Fantastic Four origin was a good single issue, but the Avengers and Iron Man origins were garbage, while those first couple Captain America issues could have been the Captain America movie, had that been made in the 90's. It should also be pointed out that Heroes Reborn Dr. Doom is the best character of this universe, and the writers had a great gimmick for the issue 12 Galactus story!
So are the stories not complete since they miss the 13th issue? Will I not know what happens?

I wish the artists in Heroes Reborn drew EVERYTHING!!! LOVE ALL OF THEM except the ones that drew the last few issues. They didn't do anything 4 me.

He is talented, but Rob has serious issues with anatomy. Sometimes the characters seem very STIFF!!! Everyone else's artwork has progressed and his hasn't. It shows on his Instagram page.
Agreed. The art of Liefeld has a certain energy, though.
People insist that he should follow proper anatomy. He confuses most people because his style mostly look realistic but his art is actually stylized. Once, people realize that, then they can enjoy his kinetic action scenes.
A hard pass from me, I'm not a fan of Jim Lee's art, his proportions are ridiculous, plus I've heard that this story, like Onslaught before it isn't that good. I've seen an issue or two of the new version of Heroes Reborn, and the dialogue reads like it was written in crayon, it's all a bit 'Biff-Pow' for my tastes, But if this is your kinda thing then enjoy.
Glad to see I ain’t the only person that doesn’t really like Jim Lee, his story telling can be terrible at times as well.
What a huge omnibus and definitely one for fans of the 1990s. Not one for me - I just don't like the art style of this.

Did I wake up in an alternate universe where Heroes Reborn didn’t suck big time? One can watch this video and think that the whole thing wasn’t just awful and Marvel’s lowest point ever.

This one is ugly as hell! And that’s good, helps me to save some money. But glad for guys who like this type of “art”
Not gonna lie, but I had to laugh with some of that Liefeld stuff. I always thought it was pretty much the equivalent of "bad 90s art", but looking back at it today like this ... it's really more laughable than bad. It's not even just the anatomy, as plenty of artists don't do proper anatomy, among them favourites of mine (for pinups/cheesecake) like JSC and Michael Turner. Liefeld is all that on steriods, all that but super stilted and all that without the gorgeous faces.
