    You sir are a scholar and a gentleman. Because of this high quality and professional video I was able to reassemble my reel correctly. The detail showing my error wasn't in any of the other videos I could find on the subject. Sincerely, thank you!

    Ordered the gears from you and now they're fitted. You make it look easy (I may have sworn once or twice) thanks Jamie. Rough ground chrome rocket stage one completed.

    im Jon this is my reel, i didnt think it could be improved but Jamie has proved it can. It has been tried and tested and works as it should. This is a serious bit of kit which wont ever wear out unlike me once again thanks Jamie.

    Re 6500 beast mutiplier, ive took the level wind off and removed the white cog as in your video, the only thing left in the sude olate is the rachet gear, when im casting out it sounds just like you left the rachet on, was just wondering if there was something in the main gear case that needs removing or that could be causing the noise.

    Very nice and helpful video sir, I want to ask some questions about my baitcasting reel. I have black max low profile baitcasting reel and I go for snakehead fishing 3 to 5 days a week. And after few month (2-4 month) my baitcasting reel is not so smooth as it was new so I do clean and grease my reel but after oiling and greasing my reel don't get that smooth retive as it was in new. Can u build me sir what to change and what Is the problem. Same I feel with my Royel Langend casting reel. Plz respond me I'm waiting for your respond from India

    Great video Jamie, I experience slipping when reeling in (feels like drive gears slipping). Upon inspection, the gears seem to look good (no broken/worn teeth). I replaced the pinion yoke thinking it was a sloppy fit with the pinion gear causing the gears to slip. No change with the new yoke, still slips. What other components do you suggest I replace to resolve this gear slipping issue. Thanks

    • @PimpMyReel
      @PimpMyReel  6 років тому +2

      Gears slipping is caused by worn drag washers. Replace yours and all should be good. I suggest you get the uprated Carbon Tex version or give me an email at jamielifetour@googlemail.com
      I can also provide you with outstanding performance drag washes that will give you 17lb of drag

      @@PimpMyReel If you are using braid, make sure you put on the empty spool some elastic finger tape before putting on any line. It could be the mechanical parts are ok, but the whole line is spinning on the spool.

      The ManFish stainless steel gears are 6.3:1. There will be a 6.8:1 version out towards the end of this year, that is the highest gearing possible for this type of reel.

  • @maryshan80
    @maryshan80 6 років тому

    I noticed on my 6500 c3 atleast on one of them the brass pinion gear on the the bottom only has two knotches and yours and my two other have four knotches in the bottom of gear (die cut-outs0 when looking at bottom of the gear do you know if there is any difference, i did notice it spins better than the two with 4 knothes in brass bottom gear shape.//

      No the hole is a slightly different size think it's about 0.5 mm too small to put a one-way infinite anti reverse bearing in.

      Depends if you want a wet or dry drag, wet drag is smoother, dry drag has more lbs. Abu 6500 with a wet drag (9lbs of drag), Abu with a dry drag (12lbs of drag).
      Dry drag tends to let line out in a staccato fashion, ie short sharp jerky movements.
