Follow the 6600 reels have a spring in the clutch, this may be worn and week, but it also could be a number of other things. Without seeing the reel it is very difficult to tell.
+BMW threethreefive It's obvious that the clip is nowhere near the plastic bits of the cog and that the bearing is completely free of resistance. Also, a dual bearing level wind setup solves the issue with the worm gear resistance. I have two Abus with dual bearing level winds and a ceramic pawl and they are a must for distance casting with a line guide. Absolutely amazingly smooth. Night and day difference.
@@CROWOUTDOORS the bearing is turning and touching the clip. As said above. The worm gear saps all the power anyway. Plus you'll be breaking the spool with your thumb or brake blocks so completely pointless.
i love this video,,,,you are truly gifted with reels , and make the best vids,,,,keep up the great work!
Will this work for a Abu Garcia Ambassador 5000?
Jamie,
The cog on your c3 should just pop right out. Being that your c3 is new, spare parts may come in handy someday.
Good job>>>>>>will this work on the old "BCX6600" crap series????, i cant even find a cleaning video on it!!!
Don't know, never touched a BCX series reel

Hello, I want two main drive cog wheels like that for my ABU 6500 C3's. How can I procure such devices?
Via my direct email at the start of the video
Can I do the same to Nacl? I really dont like the pin only, it's not smooth.
Can do it to any reel if you have the right size SS bearing.
just use a bit of braid and it pops right off. no sharp knives needed.
Oh and I figured out the email loll...I've sent you one
Did you order a cog wheel with bearings after all?
Im looking for a 7000
i have a 6600 c4 thumbar disengages when casting ,, any idea of what is causing this anyone?

thanks,,,,you build some works of art btw, im in the us so i what would it cost to pimp this one out approximately

What's the point of the upgrade? What exactly is improved?
spins faster and smoother resulting in a quieter longer casting reel.
A pointless endeavour. Worm gears on level winds sap all the power. The e clip probably still contacts the cog as well.
