  • Come along with us as we go to check out the famous, colorful steps at the Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur! We also made our way back to the Chinatown area of the city to try the famous Clay Pot chicken.
We then decided that the moment has finally arrived for us to try what is known as the worlds SMELLIEST fruit... Durian. This was something we did not try in Thailand so felt like we HAD to try it now in Malaysia. So tune into the video to find out what we make of this unique and truly stinky fruit.

Hey, we're Eoin and Aisling, a couple from Ireland who have packed their bags, waved goodbye to home and set off to travel the world in search of new adventures!
We started our journey by spending 3 months walking from the top to the bottom of Croatia and exploring a few of the boarding countries. Then at the start of January 2022 we hopped on a flight to South East Asia!
We hope to be in this part of the world for the next year, but who knows what might happen along the way, our plans are forever changing!
We tend to plan each day as it comes and can't wait to see what the world has in store for us!
    Peace out x

Thailand Durian is suitable for entry level because its least pungent, fermented and no gasoline after taste. Because they pluck it before it fall naturally. Malaysian and Indonesian durian are for the hardcore lovers. If you like raw onion custard, you gonna love durianne!
Theres so many variety of durian though just like apple, the taste could vary vastly (think granny smith vs fuji apple)

Gasoline!?!? I'm confused but maybe I'll stay away from the hardcore ones then haha

Hahaha! Love the durian-tasting. Not for me either. :) I crack up at how lovely and diplomatic y'all are. Yep, it's a stinky fruit. Some love it. Not me, though. I remember staying at a little hole-in-the-wall hotel in Indonesia. I thought that their septic system had packed it in. The hotel room smelled so bad! But now I know what that smell was. :) It's not for nothing that Durians are outlawed in hotel rooms!

Durian is like a fierce-and tough-looking person, but sweet and soft inside. Haha.
Imported durian especially from Thailand is usually picked when it's not naturally riped; it will be hard and tasteless most of the time.

This temple is a private property not under the gov. It is a bit dirty according to several vlogs. The temple committee is either lazy or too poor to maintain it. The main cave is free. But the other one has an entrance fee

@@EoinandAisling some humans thought it is cute to feed them but actually it is causing a dependency syndrome. The monkeys thought food is from humans and not trees and fruits in the jungle. Even the babies think like that as the mother carries them around. Therefore, when they are hungry they go to the bins instead of the jungle! We just don't learn to follow rules. And they grab bottles and plastic and handbags and other stuff as they thought it is food.

here some formula, try to eat durian a few times (different day and types), if still not like it, then durian is not for you. if at first the smell okay for you, then you have the potential to become a durian lover. just make sure it fresh, not the frozen one. your are already manipulated by its smell to begin with. but many foreign tourists revisit malaysia just to have durian. It sold so expensive in western countries, but still out of stock sometime...
