Yall should react to Moon Knight!! Its one of those marvel series that doesnt feel like marvel and it dives deep into the mental health of the protagonist and all the characters have interesting backstories actually. And yeah its PG 14-15 but not like Daredevil, altho the plot is the most interesting part of the story and Moon knight's suit is FIRE 🔥
I, much like you guys wasn't sure I would like RP as Batman, but holy crap he was great as was Colin Farrell, also love Andy Serkus as Alfred. Thought the movie was incredible.
They teed up so many potential future storylines. Hush or Court of Owls could be worthy candidates. We meet Selina Kyle, Oswald Cobblepot, and Edward Nashton but in many ways they're just on year one of their journeys and I look forward to seeing them come closer to their comic destinies. The only thing that bums me out with this gritty, noir, realistic take is that I feel it decreases the odds of the more outlandish and supernatural elements from coming into this version. Like I don't see how Poison Ivy or Solomon Grundy could exist in this world.
The opening scene where Bruce has his monologue, the music blasting, criminals fearing the shadow of the unknown, and then hearing Batman’s heavy footsteps walking, was a masterful scene. Absolute chills.
One thing I really liked in this film I don’t see many people talking about is how there are some moments where being Bruce Wayne was more beneficial than being Batman. That cop at the beginning doesn’t trust Batman and calls him a freak but at the funeral he greets Bruce with a huge smile. Even the twins were surprised to see Bruce Wayne at the club and just let him in.
Great point! It really lays the groundwork for Bruce realizing that his "billionaire" persona can serve as a complement to the Batman, especially as his personal rage and grief begins to take a back-seat to strategizing in service of a larger goal.
Exactly. And early on Alfred is referencing accountants for the Waynes and Bruce doesn't care because all he wants is vengeance. But had he gotten involved in the Wayne side of things maybe that "world's greatest detective" brain would have caught what was going on with the Renewal fund. But year 2 Batman was so mired in lashing out at street criminals he wasn't able to care about anything else. Fingers crossed the next movie has Batman needing to cultivate that Bruce Wayne side of himself more now that he knows he can't just punch Gotham's problems away!
@@oneopinion6806It would definitely be nice if he kinda switches up and becomes a more charismatic Bruce Wayne, while still keeping that darkness and rage stored for those who deserve it. It would also be nice to see him as Batman showing some civilians he’s rescued some kindness and warmth.
Another thing is not only is he learning how to be Batman, he's also learning how to be "Bruce Wayne" in a sense. This not the billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne he later becomes. He has to learn how to be that just like has to learn how to be Batman. In essence, he's learning how to put on two different masks.
If The Joker was a film about a broken man becoming Irredeemable, than The Batman is a film about a damaged man becoming a Force for Good! When Batman lead the people in water to safety, was Bruce first steps from being Vengeance to The Dark Knight. The whole cast did an amazing job.
@Dean Siroit funny thing is both of their childhood was destroyed. The other different is Bruce was taking care of by Alfred. Arthur's mother neglect him.
Batman’s arc in this movie is perfectly surmised by one consistent bit of physical acting 1.) Bruce is visibly squinting in the entire scene where Alfred is trying to decode the first cipher because of daylight streaming in from the windows (“Two years of nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal”) 2.) At the end, when Bruce is helping the woman on the stretcher being elevated, he’s looking up, clear and wide-eyed in the daylight Vengeance in the night -> Hope in the light.
Also the first time, I think, that we see the Batman in the dawn. This movie is just a masterclass in creating dense layers of meaning via symbolism. It's like a well-done comic, like Alan Moore's "Watchmen"; you can look back again and again and again, and there's always something else that you maybe didn't see consciously, but that added to the overall message. As the guys over at Red Letter Media put it, "you may not have noticed it, but your brain did".
@@michaelccozens actually we did see Batfleck in the dawn, along with the Justice League. It was a callback to the Jor-El's line to Kal, "But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal" But both are cool tho, Batfleck and Battinson
I'm still blown away by the prosthetic work done on Colin Farrell as The Penguin. A sequel has officially been greenlit and announced as of last night, with Matt Reeves returning to direct.
Falcone has been depicted as Selina's father in multiple continuities most notably the new 52. I'm not sure if that's still true in recent comics though. Also, the whole reveal of Martha being an Arkham and her history of mental illness was pulled directly from "Batman: Earth One." I'm not sure the whole Thomas Wayne subplot was pulled from anywhere in particular but the waynes have been interpreted as corrupt in a lot of stories. Great reaction btw. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it!
@@BaddMedicine Go for it! Earth one is a very interesting take on the character. While you are at it I would also recommend "Batman: Ego" if you have the time. I'm finally getting around to read it and it's a fantastic read!
Thomas Wayne having ties with the Mob and Bruce's contact lenses were in the Telltale games. But in this continuity, Thomas asked only 1 favor from Falcone. In the Telltale games, he was working with Falcone and Mayor Hill, and the three of them controlled crime in Gotham.
Telltale games' Batman games had a corrupt Thomas Wayne. And Wayne saved falcone's life in the Batman: Long Halloween animated movie which came out last year or something.
I love how he looks at the eviction notice in cat woman’s apartment and sees her name. Then when he says Selina she looks shocked like how does he know my name. These little things make me appreciate this so much
@@BaddMedicine Well, i don't really expect the same laugh in a future movie, but the Joker seem to still be young (seems like early twenties?) and far from his full potential. I hope in a next movie he'll have an older Joker with a more ominous laugh
@@BaddMedicine You guys should check out the deleted scene they officially released online. It establishes the type of relationship and history Batman and Joker have with each other in this iteration.
Matt reeves confirmed that it was infact a straight adrenaline shot but coloured green to give it a sort of “dramatic effect” to the audience, I feel like I’m the only person along with Dave who geeked out over the technical aspect of the Batmobile and sat there trying to figure out what engine he had planted in that thing
Ahhh my first immediate thought was venom, I'm disappointed lol. I also expected joker to be Harvey and we were disappointed when it wasn't. Especially since Harvey and Penguin have a lot of dealings normally.
@@moriboto1 to be honest I’m kind of glad it wasn’t the venom compound because it really wouldn’t fit with the theme and tone of this universe being grounded set in reality so I don’t think this is really the right universe for Bane to exist in and yeah I hope they do introduce Harvey some day and do him properly. I really hope joker isn’t the villain in the sequel because there are so many other great villains that I’d argue are better than the joker, I hope Matt Reeves really is doing a cold cold heart inspired Mr Freeze storyline or an identity crisis storyline with Hush like he said he plans to
@@notthefia9154 the comics have always balanced gritty realism with dark supernatural and sci-fi elements, I don’t see why they can’t in this universe. Especially since we’ve only got one The Batman movie set in this universe and it hasn’t enforced a “realistic villains only” rule. If there was already two The Batman movies in a row with serial killer villains and gangsters then it would be out of place. And yes, I’ve been commenting this same thing quite a lot, people think that villains like Bane, Mr. Freeze, Clayface and Killer Croc wouldn’t work in this universe but in fact, it would be the perfect time to add the more supernatural and sci-fi elements to the sequel.
@@barakaafrobama6519 I wrote that really poorly now looking back on it, I more meant yes they could absolutely do the more out there villains that aren’t necessarily average people by physical appearance like Bane, Croc, Clayface or even ManBat. But my point was that if they were to tackle for example Bane, I feel like the perfect casting choice would be someone like Dave Batista who has openly expressed his love of Bane, but is also just so physically massive compared to Robert Pattinson that I think it genuinely would give the impression or illusion that he was on venom, but at the same time I reckon he also could play an incredibly comic accurate depiction of an intelligent, methodical mercenary Bane who isn’t just some venomed up giant that smashes things and runs head on at Batman or like TDKR where he’s just ever slightly a better fighter and more physically stronger than Batman is. But I suppose because of Ledgers passing and how much it stop started the writing and production of that movie, Hardy wasn’t given nearly enough time to go on a bulk cycle so focused on extensive weight training and admitted to hopping on some tren and dealing with the issue of without the lighting trickery he was just fat. If they’re going to tackle the more extreme characters then they for sure will come up with ways of getting around them and how the bed them in reality. Personally I’d love it if they went with a modified version of the Black Mask Assassins storyline like in Arkham Origins, where potentially Black Mask is introduced having a power struggle with the penguin after falcone’s killing, so to eliminate the risk of Batman taking them both down, hires 5 of the worlds greatest assassins to take down Batman
The reason why I like this Batman the most is because this is how I would imagine a night vigilante constantly in his own head would act. The observation skills and hiding in plain sight are perfect.
I saw this in theatres the day of release and I adore this movie. This is officially my favourite Batman movie. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the previous Batman films before, but this one was really amazing with incredible performances from everyone and I love how this is the most different comic book movie in a long, long time. I felt it flipped the idea of a comic book movie on its head and I can’t wait to see it again.
The thing I like about the _rat with wings_ riddle is that pretty everyone assumes Riddler's referring to a "rat with wings" when he's actually referring to "a rat" with wings.
@@bella7162 A rat is another word for someone who’s a sellout, gives up information, a betrayer of trust, that sort of thing. They’re also known as a Stool Pigeon aka “a rat with wings”. But the rat with wings in this case, means the rat has something to do with wings, like a penguin or a falcon.
@@TrackMaster844 ohhhhh i get it now!! i couldn't totally understand before cause english is not my first language so i didn't know about this slang, but now the movie is making so much more sense to me haha thanks for the info 💖
That was my first assumption too, he meant a sellout with wings not a rat-like creature with wings. A lot of reactors, and even Gordon and Batman assumed the riddle meant rat-like creature with wings.
Yes this was a great movie. I think Pattenson did a great job, but let me just say this. I never understood why people judge an actor based on the characters they play. They are supposed to make you believe the role they are in at any given time. Just never understood that about people
so true...remember the flack Michael Keaton got when it was announced he was going to play Batman? People were like,"You mean the guy that was in Mr.Mom?"
@@Nummymuffincocobutter I thought the same at the time. But then I changed my tune. However my opinion changed again decades later with Christian Bale and now Michael Keaton seems like a joke as Batman compared to Patrick Bateman.
Detective Batman at its peak! Great storyline. Just as dark a universe as we've come to expect from DC. The gloomy, gritty, dark tone of this film is exactly what I wanted. When you think the movie is over, there's more. Beautiful cinematography. Great score
In the graphic novel "Long Halloween," Selina Kyle was the illegitimate daughter of Carmine Falcone. Also, in one of the novels titled "Batman: Venom," Batman started carrying the "venom" serum of Bane as backup in case he gets too tired to move or when he needed some extra boost in strength -- he did this when he failed to save a child because he was too weak. Venom has always been green colored.
@@mexicanhound5149 Yeah, there was a theory going around online that it was Bane's super-steroid Venom, and that they were intentionally setting that Bane for the next film. But the art book dispels that theory.
Best batman movie hands down can't wait till the next one! Oak commenting on the tires had to be one to the funniest things I've seen in a while. Keep it boys !
The Martha/Thomas twist was a mixture of the Earth One story and the Telltale game. Also, another awesome detail: Falcone discovered who Batman was after seeing the look Batman gave him after being shot, reminding him of Thomas Wayne’s look when he saved his life
The way they make Batman start out as a vigilante who only wants vengance, to a hero who actually realizes his real contribution to the world is to bring hope, never fails to make me tear up.
I'm so glad they actually used 'Something in the Way' in the film and not just for the trailer. The scene at the beginning where Batman and the Mayor's son look at each other and then the song comes in, honestly gives me chills. I've only read part of Batman Year One which was one of the source materials for this film, the other being The Long Halloween which I haven't read. But I am glad they decided to go down the gritty road of Batman digging into the corruption of Gotham and uncovering his own family's involvement in it as well. Overall, a solid Batman film and while I do agree with you that there's only so many times you can re-invent this character, I am genuinely looking forward to seeing where they go from here with this version.
Its awesome to finally have a Batman movie that actually shows his "Worlds Greatest Detective" side rather than just another superhero movie with a bunch of gadgets. Batman's intellect imo is so much more important to his character than just his money and it's why he's able to bring so much to the table as a hero when you have the other heroes in the Justice League who are essentially Gods.
The scene where Batman has shown so evidently that he’s there for the people, to save them, and the only person to trust him and set in motion everyone else’s trust being the mayors son. A child, surrounded by adults. That part gets me every time. Especially with all the healing and realizations Bruce has in the movie and how he saw himself in that child earlier on
The music in this is done by Michael Giacchino. He's worked on Up, Ratatouille, Wall-E, The Incredibles, the new Star Trek movies, the MCU Spider-Man movies, Doctor Strange, Rogue One, etc. In my opinion, the best composer in the business.
I love his film scores, plus his score for the series Lost is gorgeous. I’ve been listening to this film’s score on repeat for a month. It’s just incredible.
i love the little touches like badguys being afraid of the dark in gotham and the video contacts, the contacts are such a dope touch, like he studies and analyzes everything he's seeing throughout the day
Batman is called the world's greatest detective, but other than The Mask of the Phantasm, no other Batman movie until now has highlighted any detective work. I really liked how the script takes its time and lets Batman to some solid investigating. It elevates this Batman and the villain.
there's a great video out there that shows a ton of easter eggs.. Matt Reeves attention to details even in the background is so amazing. There is basically a whole story in the background throughout this entire film.. It's incredible. To me it reminds me of a classical composer.. Every scene, every word every action, every prop has a reason for being there, like a composers notes.. It's amazing.
@@BaddMedicine I've seen the movie a few times, including watching it in IMAX opening week and that was quite the experience, especially the car chase scene. But after watching that video of the easter eggs, there was so much I never noticed. It's just brilliant. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/zYjCTKgXS9Y/v-deo.html
Since they have already confirmed a sequel, I think it would be a great opportunity to bring I. A grounded version of killer croc or mr freeze. Since the city is flooded, imagine a victim of the flood that has a major skin disorder or something along that lines, hence killer croc. Scarecrow or professor pyg would also be great for this universe Also when Bruce used the adrenaline like liquid I think that was a hint at bane. Because bane uses venom to get all hyper and jacked
I think it would be cool if a grounded killer croc was a guy who used extensive body modification to make himself appear more monstrous. Having filed down teeth, having full body tattoos, skin implants kinda like Killmonger.
@@ryanfoster2869 I’ve been thinking about Professor Pyg abducting people and experimenting on them. Waylon Jones volunteering to get his features REMOVED to be more human, and Pyg makes him worse. Pyg also is the one who does surgery on someone who wants to ruin Bruce, like he ruined his father, THOMAS ELLIOT AKA HUSH
As far as the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne goes, it's always been "unsolved" in terms that Bruce and the cops were never able to say with complete confidence who their killer was. Batman is sometimes able to find and confront the man who killed his parents, Joe Chill, but the reason is pretty much always the same: He wanted quick bucks and saw Marth's pearl necklace but she screamed and he shot twice out of fear. I prefer this as a reasoning for his parents murder rather than the "they had some bad ties" route. Not only is it much more tragic that it was completely random but it reinforces the need for Batman. What happen to him could happen to anyone, not just people involved with mob bosses. Great reactions though, my reactions to the bat mobile popping up was pretty much the same lmao.
Like......I'm just BLOWN away with this movie. Every single performance, shot, musical accompaniment, costume and piece of dialogue was stellar. Rob and Colin in particular. This is how you make a movie!!!
The Long Halloween hints at a relationship between Falcone and Selina Kyle, and they further explore the father/daughter relationship in Catwoman: When in Rome. It’s an excellent story, highly recommend you to read it
I mean two of them already seen it. Dude with the batman shirt on was the one genuine reaction.. the other guy only gets excited by guys working out(IE shirtless men), motorbikes or the car. other than that not that genuine. But batman shirt guy got it
I've gone down the rabbit hole of searching for and watching reactions to The Batman, one after another. This reaction is up there as one of the best. None of you talked too much or looked away at crucial moments - two particular pet-peeves of mine. Thank you. Btw, have you guys reacted to the Joker deleted scene from this movie?
This was in my opinion the best Batman movie ever. It did a fantastic job on portraying the characters and especially the city. So many things were taken straight out of the comics. Thomas and Martha being corrupt has been in many other adaptations and Falcone being Selina’s father is from the comics and some animated movies. The cast is great, Robert Pattinson did such an incredible job and I really loved the chemistry between Batman and Gordon. The sequel was announced recently so I really hope we see them working together again. I heard that they were going to do a tv show about Penguin which would be really interesting. Great reaction from you guys and really glad you liked it too!
Riddler has always been one of my favorites, so I was excited to finally get him in a movie again. Paul Dano was amazing, so unnerving. Only other movie I've seen him in was Swiss Army Man, and this character was just the complete opposite of how he was in that movie, so it just made his acting in Batman even more amazing to me. I hope they keep bringing in more lesser known villains, not that Riddler is bottom tier, but every iteration just keeps focus on the 'big big' baddies
Gotta watch him in Prisoners! Hugh Jackman, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis and Jake Gyllenhaal are all in it and it's phenomenal. That the first time I really remember him, it came out in 2013.
I agree with Kiana. Definitely watch him in Prisoners! And I would love to add Little Miss Sunshine as a suggestion. That was the 1st thing I ever saw him in
This version of Martha Wayne aka. Martha Arkham in The Batman is inspired by the comic Batman Earth-1 from the Earth-1 Universe. The original or the OG version of Martha Wayne aka. Martha Kane is from New Earth Universe. Also in Prime Earth Universe Martha's niece Kate Kane aka. Batwoman is related to her, but in New Earth Universe she is not.
The Reporter with the “HUSH” money last name was Elliott. Tommy Elliot is the villain that knows Batman’s secret identity named...Hush. In the comics, Hush also is a surgeon that removes Selina Kyle’s heart and holds it hostage. The Joker is Batman’s arch enemy; Hush is Bruce Wayne’s arch enemy
I feel you The Oak I loved the Batmobile and geeked over it as much as you did I would’ve loved to hear you ramble about it! The part when the riddler was dropping the bomb and you were freaking out over the tires was gold!
After my first listen to Nevermimd, Something In The Way stuck with me until this very day. Their best song in my opinion. And the way used it in this film was was pure genius.
I loved catwomans theme and the music throughout , riddlers theme too … I love Parkinson’s eyes in the suit too , he looks so dead behind the eyes and so savage when he just stares at the person and doesn’t say anything , it’s very like animalistic
you guys crack me the hell up. tire commentary during such a huge lore drop and it's just fun to watch. i gotta get on your patreon. this is good stuff. it's rare for me to not be annoyed by anyone in a multiple-person reaction group but you guys are all fun to watch.
They are truly one of my favorites to watch as well! I moved A LOT of my subscriptions over to a second channel to make way for channels I want to focus on more and they are one that didn't move over. I absolutely love watching them! I literally had around 1,000 channels and I'm still going through them. I have a bad habit of feeling bad if I don't subscribe to people but I'm going to be more selective from now on. And Badd Medicine is the prescription I need. Sorry for the lame pun lol
In the novel "Wayne of Gotham" written by legendary author Tracy Hickman, Thomas Wayne was partially responsible for the lunatics in Gotham due to his medical research. He wasn't a bad guy, but he inadvertently released a plague. It's worth a read. (And that's definitely not adrenalin)
If you are referring to the green substance that Batman used in this film, the director confirmed it was adrenaline. He just wanted it more visually striking so they colored it that way.
Seen this film a couple of times and it's right there with The Dark Knight. And that's something I thought I'd never say. I am very fond of this lobster.
i actually got exposed to rob for the first time with harry potter! (you guys should see what i mean soon 😉) i think it was actually his first role! anyway, i’m so glad you all gave him a chance to prove himself as he was never a bad actor nor was he even the worst part of the twilight films! this was a great reaction and you guys have a new subscriber!
The inspiration from The Long Halloween comic. is amazing. From Bruce saying the date when he's doing his monologues to Carmine being saved by Thomas after getting shot.
I’m a HUGE Mustang fanatic and the Batmobile mustang was so HOTTTTTT and the fact that they did practical stunt driving with Rob in the dummy seat to make it so realistic was just mind blowing. Absolutely incredible
Who knew Rob would make such a good batman? I put this movie off because of the cast but Zoe was gorgeous, Paul was chilling, Collin was amazing, and Rob was genius. I had the best time watching you guys.
Martha being an Arkham was fairly recent. Originally she was Martha Kane, after Bob Kane, who created Batman with often uncredited help from Bill Finger. It’s a really cool change and helps explain Bruce’s issues.
@@BaddMedicine Kane feeds into Hush and the whole bad Thomas Wayne thing. yes it was kind of a comic thing and there's a whole bad uncle etc. IDK don't really feel batman has to be that complicated.
If you guys remember in the Arkham game series Batman's cowl has a type of vision called a detective mode or detective vision, that allows him to see people through walls, read heartbeats, conditions, display skeletons and detect usable and useful objects in the environment. Plus it can be used to solve a crime similar but different from the CSIs when Batman sets up a crime scene and solves it.
There’s a deleted scene of the joker meeting Batman in a Hannibal meets Clarice kinda way that was released. I think you guys would enjoy it and we’d enjoy that reaction
Diving into the backlog catalog, gents. Loving the coverage and reactions. I can remember seeing this in the theater, calling my brother immediately afterwards and he saw it the next day and we spent about 2+ hours talking about new things we haven't seen in the previous movies/TV show/etc. Even threw out ideas for the sequel. I love how this Batman isn't perfect. Far from it. Yeah, he's got a few moments of combos on the lower level thugs; but he still takes hits, still makes mistakes, still has a lot to learn.
This is the best Batman film for me as well. Pattinson does a great job and I'm glad he's going to start getting the recognition he deserves cauee the dude has chops when it comes to acting. Furthermore,i like the focus on Batman being a detective, not him being a hero. It gives me hope that if this batman meets up with superman and other being son that level they're not going to try and boost batman up to that level with all kinds of silly things and instead of us on him being a strategist, coordinator, and focusing in logistics. The last thing I really liked about it was the fact that we got to see such a stark transition for his growth as batman. In the beginning, he's all about vengeance and punishment, but seeing the riddler thug say the same thing he does really changed his view. After that, you can see the emphasis he places on being the symbol of hope for people that good things can come from the darkest of nights. Seeing that girl not want to let him go at the end really choked me up.
Giacchino did the music score.. they also use the Nirvana song "Something in the way" to set the mood which is a 2 chord song (an e minor to G/C progression). The main parts of the score are based solely around those 2 chords. The "Duuuum da da duuuuh" motif that we hear repeated is taken from the Nirvana song and expanded and orchestrated in different ways by the composer.
Falcone being Selina's father comes mostly from The Long Halloween/Dark Victory and has been part of some of the main continuities in the comics. I think still is in the current one but can't say it for sure. Martha Wayne being an Arkham comes from the sort-of-elseworld series Batman: Earth One. In most of the main continuities she's actually a Kane (and aunt to Kate Kane, the current Batwoman). She having mental illness may referente her turning into The Joker in Flashpoint. The Waynes are mostly good people in most continuities and adaptations. In some others like the Joker film they're show in a less sympathetic light. The only one that shows them as fully corrupt that I'm aware of is the Telltale Games version. Finally, I know a lot of people would love to see Mr. Freeze in a sequel, but my preference would be Clayface. Imagine him not necessarily as the mud monster of comics and cartoons but perhaps as a killer with body horror elements that can take the form of any person. Absolute paranoia fuel and a real challenge for a detective.
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and now The Batman. You guys keep on giving! Been looking forward to this reaction. Thoroughly enjoyed this film, and in a very different way to the Nolan films.
I hope what they go for in the sequel is that there is a new villain, preferably mr freeze (he is a character who was overlooked like riddler ) and then at the end of the sequel we see joker talking to that villian in the same way he does to riddler in this movie. Then in the 3rd movie you have all the villains we have seen loose in Gotham, and joker as the main villian
I think the Scarecrow would be an awesome villain for the next movie. Putting in context the themes in the first film, the Scarecrow can really give Batman a run for his money. They could have it be that Scarecrow works within GCPD, so it's hard to find him. Furthermore, the scare toxins can help develop Bruce Wayne more while hinting at his backstory.
We thought this movie was just outstanding. What was your reaction to The Batman? Zoe did great as Catwoman. What did you think of Paul Dano’s Riddler and Colin Farrell’s Penguin? Did Robert Pattinson live up to your expectations? And who should the main Villain be in The Batman 2?

The opening scene where Bruce has his monologue, the music blasting, criminals fearing the shadow of the unknown, and then hearing Batman’s heavy footsteps walking, was a masterful scene. Absolute chills.

It was really well done
Little fun fact here, those twins were Charlie and Max Carver, some may know them as Ethan and Aiden from Teen Wolf.
Agreed! Amazing job by everyone!
@Dean Siroit funny thing is both of their childhood was destroyed. The other different is Bruce was taking care of by Alfred. Arthur's mother neglect him.
Oak lusting over the batmobile and big rob’s jaw is the greatest ever
Yes Rob's jaw is perfect

That opening monologue still gives me chills. Rob and Matt Reeves did an amazing job with the dark knight.
Fantastic job!
Something in the way… mmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmm
Straight out of the comics.
This proves comic accuracy is better.
It was so dark and I love it! That's how Batman should be
@@dcmastermindfirst9418 well the speech itself is not from the comics, it just sounds like something he might say.
Batman’s arc in this movie is perfectly surmised by one consistent bit of physical acting
1.) Bruce is visibly squinting in the entire scene where Alfred is trying to decode the first cipher because of daylight streaming in from the windows
(“Two years of nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal”)
2.) At the end, when Bruce is helping the woman on the stretcher being elevated, he’s looking up, clear and wide-eyed in the daylight
Vengeance in the night -> Hope in the light.
As the guys over at Red Letter Media put it, "you may not have noticed it, but your brain did".
i never realized that, nice catch
@@michaelccozens actually we did see Batfleck in the dawn, along with the Justice League. It was a callback to the Jor-El's line to Kal, "But in time, they will join you in the sun, Kal"
But both are cool tho, Batfleck and Battinson
Living in the sunlight, loving in the moonlight
@@michaelccozens we see Christian Bale at dawn when Rachel dies, and when he rescues the cops from the underground prison.
Paul Dano's acting when he's talking to Batman is just insane.
Agreed!
The acting in this movie all around is top tier but Paul Dano kills these rolls
I'm still blown away by the prosthetic work done on Colin Farrell as The Penguin.
A sequel has officially been greenlit and announced as of last night, with Matt Reeves returning to direct.
Such a great job on Colin. And saw that news! Just awesome!
You forget that it's him!
Than you and Thank you for this. Definitely going to look up Batman Earth one now. 🤙
@@BaddMedicine also in the long halloween
Telltale games' Batman games had a corrupt Thomas Wayne. And Wayne saved falcone's life in the Batman: Long Halloween animated movie which came out last year or something.

I liked the joker's laugh in a sense that it still feels "young" just like every characters still are
I was curious to everyone's thoughts on the joker. Good to see done are liking it.
And that deleted scene. I understand why they deleted it but Holy Crap. If they do a sequel and he's in it, my brain will melt.
@@BaddMedicine not a fan. There has been far too much joker saturation
Awesome... So it was adrenaline! And glad to see you geeked out too! That car was badass!
These guys falling for the jawline like women has me laughing 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 to be fair ..... It was mainly the The Oak 🤣🤣🤣🤙🤙🤙🤙

Well said here
Just imagine a world with Ledger's Joker, Dano's Riddler, and Farrell's Penguin?!?!
OVERLOAD with AWESOMENESS
The thing I like about the _rat with wings_ riddle is that pretty everyone assumes Riddler's referring to a "rat with wings" when he's actually referring to "a rat" with wings.
what do you mean? i dont get it
@@bella7162 A rat is another word for someone who’s a sellout, gives up information, a betrayer of trust, that sort of thing.

Keats! That blow back was big back then for him.
I will forever "judge" him based on his performance in The Lighthouse. Oscar snub of the century.

Oak you said something that hit with me “this doesn’t feel like a superhero movie” your 100% right it feels like a Batman comic come to life.
"He's back in the car, Dave..." I spit out my soda all over the screen! HAHA
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its awesome to finally have a Batman movie that actually shows his "Worlds Greatest Detective" side rather than just another superhero movie with a bunch of gadgets. Batman's intellect imo is so much more important to his character than just his money and it's why he's able to bring so much to the table as a hero when you have the other heroes in the Justice League who are essentially Gods.
The scene where Batman has shown so evidently that he’s there for the people, to save them, and the only person to trust him and set in motion everyone else’s trust being the mayors son. A child, surrounded by adults. That part gets me every time. Especially with all the healing and realizations Bruce has in the movie and how he saw himself in that child earlier on
Robert's jaw is the key.

Fun Fact: Paul Dano (The Riddler) wrote a DC Comic called Riddler: Year One. And surprisingly, he knew a lot about superheroes' comic books.
There wasn’t one bad performance in this movie. Outstanding performances and screenplay.
Since they have already confirmed a sequel, I think it would be a great opportunity to bring I. A grounded version of killer croc or mr freeze. Since the city is flooded, imagine a victim of the flood that has a major skin disorder or something along that lines, hence killer croc. Scarecrow or professor pyg would also be great for this universe
Also when Bruce used the adrenaline like liquid I think that was a hint at bane. Because bane uses venom to get all hyper and jacked
Ok... See I thought the green was a hint at bane too. But maybe not. 🤔 And great call out for Freeze or croc.
I want to see ScareCrow
there is more than 1 more movie its meant to be a trilogy and there is spin tv shows coming also
I think it would be cool if a grounded killer croc was a guy who used extensive body modification to make himself appear more monstrous.

A great piece of cinema-making. The cinematography and the music is off the charts. Paul Dano as the Riddler is incredible.
Paul was amazing!

2 years later coming to this vid and Oak’s enthusiasm about the Batmobile’s tires has me in stitches 😂
35:35 dude the tire comment had me dying lmao. Right after one of the biggest plot developments in the movie lol.
I just recently watched batman....love to watch it again with y'all ❤️❤️
Much appreciated 🤙👍
36:08 yes in the comics the Waynes and the Arkhams have a larger history. This movie kind of tapped into more than any other Batman movie
Thank you for this🤘
Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and now The Batman. You guys keep on giving! Been looking forward to this reaction. Thoroughly enjoyed this film, and in a very different way to the Nolan films.
You're too kind! Much appreciated! 🙏🤙
Would be great to see freeze
I think the Scarecrow would be an awesome villain for the next movie. Putting in context the themes in the first film, the Scarecrow can really give Batman a run for his money. They could have it be that Scarecrow works within GCPD, so it's hard to find him. Furthermore, the scare toxins can help develop Bruce Wayne more while hinting at his backstory.
@@CallOn84 Wasn't a lot of that the plot of Batman Begins?
Just a load of villains like arkham games would be awesome
The court of the owls would be intresting in the end of the trilogy
"Because He's my Father!" That's a big mozzaball to drop! 😂😂😂
