I rarely find a decision when I'm playing, have never been able to play with the clan I joined, generally solo missions, co ops are great but not worth the xp they hive you, you get no rewards like kraken etc, I know it's all AI your playing against but still give a damn kraken if you manage 5 kills ffs. I think the xp should be higher as well, I generally play coop simply because I have waited in a random battle queue for 20 or so minutes and just want to damn well play the game. Longest I have waited in random battle queue us 47 mins. I turned the game off and did something else, they really need to fix this, it does say empty lots are filled by bots but 47 mins no game get knotted

Imo one of the larger problems is getting double uptiered _all the f*cking time_ in T6 and especially T5. I swear at least half my T5 games are uptiered to T7, which is really annoying, because it's very difficult to do much in most T5 ships in a T7 game. When you're getting spotted by a CV or sub while trying to avoid the potshots T7 battleships take at you from 4 kilometers outside your maximum gun range you aren't usually having a lot of fun.

The main issue Is that the learning curve is now so steep for new players, subs, cvs, smoke, radar etc. Even before you get the basics under your belt. The game needs to acknowledge this and ease the curve for new folks.

My advice to new players : RUN!
I have spent 5 years in this game when it was awesonme up until they introduced the submarines that was the last nail in te coffin. (I ranked out once(Bourgogne) and got to Typhoon league four times(Stalingrad))
In this video it was not mentioned that legendary modules are locked behind research bureau. So you grind Yamato as a first tier X then you realizze you need to unlock research bureau (another 3 Tier X grind) then you need to regrind two lines twice to get the legendary module that is essential to that ship. What irritates me the most looking at new players is the labeling and shamming they get at higher tiers. As soon as they die (because of not knowing there ship well enough, ect.) Immediately, seasoned players start the shame and "noob" calling on chat like there a diseased leper. Can't stand that! We have ALL been there! "JUST STOP" the shame chat! PLEASE!
As for new players, their are a lot of vids to show how to play your ship. Please take the time to view them and practice (COOP, Training, ect.). Get with (hopefully) a good clan that has the time and patients to help you become a better player. This is a TEAM based game. You need to be part of that team (this goes for the experienced players as well). It is true that most of us "old ones" have been playing the game since it came out (myself included), and never had to deal with the frustrations that new players now face. Most of the "old ones" are gone now. I don't see many left in upper tiers anymore (or they switched their game names and restarted from scratch to get better win and PR rates). My point is that new players need time to get a good understanding of the game and not be put down for trying. If your new, ask for advice in chat if your not sure about a position or play style. Div up with seasoned players and try to learn and be part of a team. I find that wins a lot of unwinnable games. Just my 2cents on all this.

I'm a new player, highest ships are T6, I can buy multiple T7 but don't have enough credits for the ships or upgrades (at least under 800 matches is new right? ). I try to learn (I'm here so... :D), but I don't like over specializing so I play all classes. (sub with min 3k torps is hard for me, that and I get way to close and get detected a lot ;p). I have not yet played a single match in ranked. Random battle is pretty painful sometimes. The amount of vitriol in chat (EU servers btw) can be a extremely annoying. And 80% of the time it's from players with 20-30k matches under their belt or account make prior 2017.
So you saying stop shaming is nice to read. I've only met about a handful of 'nice' players...the rest that used chat where...well...not very nice human beings. Really wish people would stop bashing other players just because they are frustrated. That and I dislike the whole: Boohooo we are losing because everyone on my team is a noob...Like, wth, You are part of this team. I use that in chat and that sometimes shuts them up...that or they already disconnected..

In addition to grinding ship XP and credits, the problem of commander XP for new players should also be addressed.
The commander's "power" takes a big leap forward at 10, 14, ~18 and 21 skill points respectively. If you then consider that the XP required to level up beyond ~15 skill points is extremely high and how valuable the first commander with 21 skill points is, especially if it is one of the very strong unique commanders (Kuznetsov / Lütjens / Sansonetti / ...), which you only get when you have spent for example 175k coal, new players, even if they play well and intelligently, have an extreme disadvantage compared to the old players, even if they are worse / would be defeated under the same conditions.

Not buying high tier premium ships is not something new players know NOT to do. There's literally no resource in the game that advises against it, and WG would never do that as they WILL lose money. I have recommended this game to quite a few of my friends and family, and the highest I have seen any one of them grind was Tier 7. Very few players even make it to T10 before they realize the game is a time dump and they don't like it as much as they hoped they would. Most new players will pull the trigger on a high tier premium ship when they are at tier 5 or 6, and started to notice the much longer grind times involved. And not knowing that the gameplay changes massively from to T8 to T9, to T10, they then buy these stupidly expensive ships and get absolutely annihilated, but now...because they spent so much on the game, they have to keep playing and grinding.
I've seen players get nasty with newbies who are playing at high tiers with premium ships, while I actually feel for them. They had a few good games at T4 and had no idea how the gameplay would change at T8 or T9. Because nothing prepared them.

Yeah I was there a couple of months ago. But taking a break from the grind and playing ships I wasn't trying to unlock and that were already equipped with modules and decent (10 to 14 pt) captains for a few weeks helped me stockpile enough credits that I was easily able to buy about half a dozen tech ships last week. If you are hitting a wall on credits when it comes to building your fleet then pick a ship with a commander that needs to be brought up to snuff instead. Spending some time grinding that captain to build up their points instead of working on unlocking the next tech tree ship will help you accumulate credits. Being selective about what ships to buy or modules to buy is helpful too. Do you REALLY need to buy that ship with the terrible reputation you just unlocked when their are multiple other lines in your port you could be working on? Do you really need to kit a ship out with every single module from the word go? I recommend against doing that until you a couple of weeks of play on the ship in question anyway because what you think you need in modules might be different from what you think it is and the only way you find that out is to take the ship out and play it to see what it needs.

Special ships generate 50% more credits, so you find a ship that fits your playstyle and just play it every session a few times. T6-T8 are great because you can run them in Operations. If you have credit boosters, run them exclusively on these Special ships, maximizing your earnings.

All the battles about which tech tree is best are nice, but I remember being a little frustrated when WG announced an event or I'd see an operation or something like that mentioned which required a tier (#) ship to participate - while I was grinding away with my Tier (much lower) ships. For example, right now. If you're new and grinding through the Japanese tech lines as your starting point, you can't participate in the D-Day events.

OMG Sea Lord, the timing of this video is perfect. I've been playing for a couple years, mostly PVE, I found that many PVP matches were not new player friendly and no fun. The problem though, is PVE doesn't teach you how to become a better player so we've got a bit of a conundrum. But I love this game so I kept chipping away and grinded up a couple lines, first 10 was the Mino and as much as I love playing her, I lose money every time I take her out. Recently I started noticing (and maybe it's the signal flag issue), I am not generating credits like I used to. I've got 8 boat lines waiting for credits to upgrade to the next tier...now to me, that's a real parity problem. I mean, in every other MMO, experience is the currency for leveling up. I brought this up with the WoWS Reddit community and the people that replied were very helpful and commiserated with my situation. The bottom line I got from them, get better and play randoms. The game was never meant to be played PVE. So consequently, I've all but quit playing. Because right now for me as a PVE player, the feeling of progression is not there anymore.
I love your content and I'll continue to experience the game vicariously through you, thanks man!

The problem with the credit economy is that there is no incentive to play lower tiers to fund high tier play. Even with a gray booster and premium time on a tier 9 or 10, I have to go full potato and my team lose for me to lose credits. Do that in Tanks, and you are spending a few rounds in tiers 5-7 to recover those lost credits. But in WoWS, hit battle again and you will likely get your credits back and then some in the next match. Super ships were supposed to be the solution, but again, it didn't solve the rest of the tiers. Which leads in to the next issue of MM, where getting double up tiered is the norm. Getting non-stop bottom tiered in tier 8 or 9 just isn't fun.
The signal flags just needs a big price cut. Like an 80% cut to get people to actually buy them. While I seem to have a steady flow of them coming in from just playing the game. I can see clans needing to have them for clan battles, but for randoms or operations, it is easier to either go without the bonus they give, or play a different ship until I get those flags again.

    • @Inceptor1254
      @Inceptor1254 21 день тому +1

There shouldn't be an incentive to fund high tier play, most new players have an issue even affording the mid-tier ships they have researched without selling the entire port of ships to afford one. We shouldn't need to play this like a second job to afford a fucking ship. Credits are scarce until you have invested WAY too much time vs progress gained to accumulate them, at which point there shouldn't need to be a credit sink. You have everything, what do you need to burn credits for?
The incentive to low tier play is stop uptiering everyone that plays mid and low tier. Who the hell wants to play vs objectively better tier 9 ships at tier 7? Nobody, so they play tier 10 to stop having time wasted. 3 normal 20 minute matches and you can come out average 150k credits higher than you were. A ship around tier 7 costs 5 million or more. Times all the types and lines, no wonder nobody wants to play and stick around

@@Inceptor1254 With Tanks, it is designed so that you lose money at tiers 9 and 10. With a win you are hoping to break even. But then you back to tier 5-7 to grind credits to pay for the next tier 10 match. That helps a lot in MM with more players at the mid tier so MM can have a more diverse pool to create matches.
In WoWS, there is no incentive to really play tiers 5-8 because with high tier ships you have to play really poorly and your team fail hard to lose credits. And even then, just hit the battle button and the next battle you'll likely make those credits back and still profit. So why should those with a bunch of tier 10s go play lower tiers? At least superships you'll lose credits no matter what. So with most players sticking with their high tier ships, MM doesn't have enough mid tier players to draw a game to make tiers 7-9 have an equal chance of being top tier vs bottom tier. At least in WoWS, with HE spam and/or torpedoes, stock bottom tier ships have a chance to contribute.

@@irishwind1971 the incentive to play is it's different in some tiers than the others, there is an EXTREMELY well rounded populous in the lower tiers at any given time (well, tier 5 and up) because they just like the ships and the combat change from high tier. The less spammy methods. Things like D-Day and operations are not available above tier 7 and tier 8 respectively.
I guess I fundamentally disagree with needing to grind credits because it RUINS THE GAME for new players. Who wants to stand in the face of a year (or multi year grind, even) to touch the top of each line, and then exacerbate it by making it so they can't even afford to buy much less play the ships. That's terribly cancerous. The only people this would help is old players that have everything and credits to spare. If people want to play tier x all the time because it's fun, they should be able to. It is a game, not a job you should have to grind any more than is already needed.
The only thing that needs to change is the up and down tiering range. The rest will self correct. Why have 2 lobbies playing tier 8 to tier 10 instead of 1 lobby tier 10 and 1 lobby tier 8 and 9. Everyone is happy, because literally nobody is walking into these matches and their main complaint is they make too many credits. Nobody really wants to be forcefully blocked from playing the top 20% of tiers by a needless credit wall, it means the game wasn't properly balanced at that point

By the time I finished grinding xp for Des Moines by playing Buffalo, I realized I immediately hit a wall when it came to the credits I was earning and realized it would’ve been smarter to buy back the Baltimore and New Orleans and just save up credits for Des Moines and maybe coal for Salem. If credits weren’t an issue I would probably be grinding a second tech line by now. I’m a new player but I did have some experience from Legends and I can perform decent on the US heavy cruisers. Increasingly I’ve been looking at co-op battles as a way to get signal flags from the Science of Victory campaign without really needing to expend them. As a new player you’re given a lot of credits, just about enough to get you to tier 8 without getting miserly with your resources, but once you get around there, you start to notice the credits running dry and so do even your basic credit bonuses. More missions that make credit boosters and signal flags in particular easier to obtain would be amazing.

i did play this game years ago and recently started again. And im pretty much "new" again. Im currently doing exactly this: grinding American Battleship Line and im on the North Carolina. The Grind slowed down significantly, like i drove from a good road into thick mud. It feels like my personal impact and chance at getting good Credits out of a match are significantly more reliant on the Team i get and the Matchmaking. I have fought more Tier 10 than Tier 8 ships on the North Carolina and its quite the struggle. Now if i imagine i was completly new and dont have experience at all i would barely make any progress.
I see so many people in these matches who run straight into death, broadside the whole match, hide with 8 ships behind 1 single island... nobody cares for AA support, nobody follows you in a push. And that makes a lot of players choose the easy way: sit back, shoot as far as you can, so you still loose but your chance is higher not to die and loose credits.

I feel like the game is making sure that you are not receiving any bonuses/flags and it's really difficult to get enough credits to unlock t9 or t10 techline ships. In fact for the same price or less as a t10 ship you can unlock a new nation until t7 or t8. The issue with this, you end up in t10 battles as the only t8 in a cruiser.

The problem these days is that the lower tiers are now just mainly for bots. I started when the game came out of Beta and slowly worked my way up - I really wanted the Cleveland (T6 then) as Jingles showed it was huge fun - I bought my way up and truly was awful. Some nice chap on the old forum gave me good advice and I went back to T3 and learned how to play the game in the St Louis - angling, aiming, positioning - took me about 1000 battles!! I didn't play high tier premiums until I played tech tree ships at that tier and I enjoyed the grind - except Pensacola at T7!! I now mainly play T7 - I found a ship I liked and mainly play that - I do get Premium as I always have credits and anything else I want and free premium comes up all the time so not even that expensive.
I think WG should make the lower tiers more attractive but keep protecting newer players - Tier 9 and 10 are full of make believe ships on the whole and play style seems to be very static - mid tiers are much more dynamic and fun. My advice is don't feel that you have to shoot up to T10 but grind a few different lines and have fun. We are not all Flambass - most of us are more like Jingles and make like him and have fun!

I've been playing since OBT and my advice to new players is: "Play all the tier ones. Then all the tier twos and so on. You learn all the ships. You learn all the maps and you learn the game before you get to the high tiers."
Also: The grind IS the game! There isn't a real goal or endgame but when you reach tier 11 all over the board a big part of the game is done. Don't rush it, you'll get there.
When I "grind" a new line I play one game in that ship per day. Then I play other ships. You don't get bored and you earn credits at the same "pace" as the XP so you can buy the next ship when you unlock it. It's also nice to have some FXP at hand so you can use it to "get out of the stock" i.e. upgrade the ship from the start.
There should also be a limit how high a tier premiums you could buy.

One difference in ship tier; For making cash, and being able to run with your clan in Random Operations, a tier 8 is more than fine for new players. You have a clan to teach you, and if not then something like a Mainz gets you lessons learned very quickly while making money for your grind. Most new players tend to avoid Random vs Co-op because its so much more fun when you are learning. Hell a lot of experienced players do just because of CV, sub, and general chat bullies. Now I say Mainz because it's hard to over extend yourself, its more forgiving, and it's got a little of everything. I think one thing I wish they would improve is the economy and desire to play tier 5-10 rather than just playing t8-10. You make no money below t8(and above t8 too) but the struggle is just to reach t8 as fast as possible even though there are some cool t7 and t6 ships but they get horribly matchmaked, especially at 7. The credit grind is the only thing that actually keeps t8 a live because it is the most optimal tier to do so especially with premium ships.
It's an economy thing, but it effects the fun and value of all the tiers. The first premium ship I bought is still to this day the ship I go to make money one and it's just the T8 Roma. It's a fun ship but straight up I make like 5x the amount of credits in that ship compared to anything else.

Playing since Beta...The biggest mistake i made in this game was to sell all the flag i could sell BEFORE the work work came in, as i thought they wouldn't be transferred onto the new system and would lose them. How wrong i was. I had hundreds of flags with bonuses on which would have transformed onto the new system with enough to last me years, in XP, credits, commander and free. Instead i only got the bonuses from the flags i could originally sell and although i had loads, 500+ in most, they have dwindled over the course of the year to the point where i have about 50+ credit flags remaining. more in XP and commander and little left in free XP flags. Without any of that and i never play premium (i'm not a sucker) i can imagine how hard it is to grind a line now-a-days for new players. Not like a unicum player like me, where you end up in the top 1-3 every game with a decent pay back, making the grind easier. But if your coming at the middle-bottom, it's a tough grind. But my advice is simple...DONT buy a premium ship at tier 8-10 after installing the game. It's not gonna be fun for you and it's going to cheese everyone else off who has taken the time to learn the game. You wont learn, you wont get better. IF you are going to buy a ship, and only IF, then get something at tier 5 to start with. Tier 1-6 is kinda new player territory so little is expected from you. Tier 7-8 you should be able to know the game, what your facing and put up a scrap. Tier 9-10 you should have a few hundred battles under your belt and know the ropes and don't be a burden. However...It's not the case now-a-days and the amount of red players at tier 10 and even tier 11 is shocking (MM tells me this every game). The worse, period, it has ever been in it's history. If your new...Join a clan and get some help.

Anyway I ended up buying the Murmask as my credit generator and it worked well because I seemed to get to around T8 in most ships and then burned out and was forever starting another line :)
Today the resource I never have enough of is as you said, credits, I was lucky enough to get the MO with free XP and 1 Credit back when that was a thing and today it is my normal ship to play as I am always short of credits, I am finding it quite grindy now and am close to calling it quits, play four games in the MO then one if a ship I want to play, just to get credits.
Everything you said about the flags and camo etc. is all quite true and newbies buy the lower tier premium, more fun for you, more fun for older players, being wiped and finding your CV has 70 games as a CV and other ships explains a lot with all the one sided games.

I have never really enjoyed t6-8 grinds (especially on battleships... those are so bad). I would recommend just practicing at t19 or 10. Jump in and keep failing, but look back at how you failed and see how other players play the ship you are using/the ship you were facing. Its a game, not a competition where you either win or die. Most dont succeed before failing.

Something that did make my brother leave the game for good was the fomo WG does. And that also scares new players away. Whats more motivating than having the best ships as goals? New players see Thunderers, Alaskas, Smalands, Musashis etc. They also hear that they re amazing but that they re no longer accesible unless you want to sell a kidney for them. Which kills the motivation.
Next is the progress. As of late WG started to give us blue boosters in a rate which was for the reds before. Greens have become the new blues. We re getting starved of boosters. Again unless we want to spend heaps of cash.
All in all its WGs greed that hurts the player count the most.

The thing for me has been trying to learn how to do clan battles, there's no info on how that works. You join a clan and then have to earn stars in order to stay in clan but can only play clan battles during certain times and has to be a commander that starts the battle so you have to be available when their on in order to participate. Same applies with naval battles.

I am currently working on my first BB (MOntana) after having played my way up to the Harugumo and Yodo. I've unlocked De Moin too, but havn't purchased it due to credits. But boy let me tell you the North Carolina grind is so freakin frustrating, even after experiencing Buffalo. M.C. tops the feeling of uselessnes in this game for me. You guns have dispersion from hell, you're sluggish and at Tier 8 your teams DDs tend to perish within the first 5mins of the game. And then there's superships,.... fun.

One thing i have learnt is most people don't wanna or cant get better at the game. Either because they can't be bothered, are unable to (intelligence) or other genuine issues like age and so on. But mostly, they can't be arsed (i would like to think that as i have faith in humanity and don't believe everyone is stupid, prove me wrong). The ones that are good are the ones that take their time grinding, ask questions, join clans (and get help) and watching videos about the game. I'm a family man with a busy job, wife and kids and have managed it and so can everyone else that can be bothered. It's a team game so be a team player. Your actions in a game can and often will have a knock on effect for the res t of your team. Eg a DD steaming into a cap and getting killed. Not because he hit a random torp (happens) or because he/she was outplayed (happens) but because they was stupid and selfish.

Hi Mounbatten! I have watched your videous for some years now and you hit the target with the credits( money ) I am hardly even average player but I got my Yamato, which was to skills a dissapointment and then others and all kinda vessels in garage at Tier X, but the problem is, that I could have way more, if I had the credits and I damn sure aren't going to buy any credits n o matter what. But the end result is that I have alredy expeed a lot of TX and also some 'Superships' but I can by any of those with the current style. In WoT I have had all T10 tanks for years now and can skip new lines with those blueprints and free exp but in WoWs I am light years away. The game itself is for me a great optiom to relax a bit, but I feel I am not going anywhere with the credits. A half a year ago I calculated that I would need about 300 000 000 credits to buy what I have research. I feel taht I will be mostly bored way before I ever get all T10 ships or simply dead before it... Also, either I got suddenly very bad with the carriers or something was made to nerf those ships and their planes. Even nerfed subs seem to work better. I have that 'United Stes carrier and from the second CV line that T8 what ever and her planes goes down before I can do anything and I already gave up the German CV-line... . That Eagle was a bit dissapointment to me too... but that grinding is what drops your interest on this game... way too hard.

As a new PC player but veteran console player, my impression is that progression and economy are both slightly easier on PC. What I really notice is that very few people are playing the game in comparison to console. WG has said on their streams that console is their largest player base, but from my estimate via event rankings, there are around 100K active console players only. I think most PC players have retired, and I’m pretty sure growth is low. That’s why they brought in this cross platform promotion.

Since i bought my 2nd coal premium Azuma my creditproblems were just me not faarming them in Azuma or later other very good credit farmers, but before that it is quite hard to earn enough to grind all those lines. And i know everybody says just grind at maximum 2 lines but at the same time u are supposed to play all different clasas in order to understand them and there are so many very interesting lines to grind and i knew the game better than most players playing it for 1/2 years bc i watched very very very many guides on yt, with that i just had to learn where to aim and where to position not more.

As someone who has made it a personal mission to grind my way up the tech trees, I can say that you will not be doing it in a hurry. Getting from tier 1 to 5 isn't hard and doesn't take excessive time, but it gets progressively more time consuming after that. Yeah, now I have a lot of economic bonuses to paste onto the ship, and that speeds things up, but you're still going to be playing a lot of matches with that ship to get enough XP and credits to get the next tier. It's what's kept me from going for research points, because every time I think about it, I also think "do I really want to grind this again?"

In a nutshell, angling puts more armor in the way of the incoming shell. To angle effectively, you have to know if its even possible to angle against the ship shooting at you, which requires you to know the incoming caliber vs you mm of armor, etc. The goal being to make the shell automatically ricochet instead of going through the ricochet check (find the weegee video to explain that bit honestly)
Honestly, I just kinda wing it and try not to show too much broadside to battleships with massive guns

Its not just the grind its the hostile meta that present to new player during the grind , low tier RANDOM is no longer RANDOM , its just Co-Op with both side having some human players thrown in and not in a good manner ; Mid tier madness - double CV - sure, double / triple SS - sure , and well more than often double CV + double SS , and of course the stated credit crunch and also - of course - pretty much all the not really up to date mid tier DD, Cruisers, and BB are not and never are balanced for such meta , not help by old hands seal clubbing there
It might not be the welcoming answer , but once get pass T5 , you had options as a new players and its call Scenarios ( Operations ) , and sometime you even had Ranked , Clan or temporary mode that allow mid tier ships ( as we are having now with the D-Day Utah Beach part )

I am in a unique place as myself and my friends play WoWs frequently at times then the grind, or life interrupts the process and we leave for like 6-12 months, so every time I return I feel like I have to relearn the game at least for the first 5-10 games. So while yes I have been a player of WoWs since long before the odd tiered carriers were removed, I do not play often enough and have to relearn the game. So with regards to the credit grind I kinda agree that, it is the main reason as for myself to not continue playing, many of times I have looked at premium ships and I thought that I could ignore the grind to get there, but I end up not spending money for ships as I think that I could get more or better enjoyment from getting a completely cheaper game than the ship, or feed one of my other hobbies such as the guilty plastic crack or the colorful cardboard. The long and short of this is something that has me looking away from video games that I used to enjoy playing as the companies owning them are looking to make a quick buck instead of caring for the player base. This truly is the darkest timeline if even in something that is supposed to be enjoying is just a bunch of corpse-starch.

If you're not a super unicum player, or one of the pay to win streamers that pay their actors for impossible solutions (not you, SLM, but we all know who they are), you're just gonna have a rather poor experience in the game. The hostility between new people and old people is expanding. The toxicity of the playerbase is also expanding. The enemy is literally Wargaming, who, as you said, hasn't stopped their high tier money making printouts... low tier was fun. Now it's impossible, because subs and CVs ruin it worse than high tier.

my biggest tip for new players would be to try every class for at least a few 10s of battles, especially the ones you struggle against.
feel free to ignore signals, as a new player you are likely to get yourself into deadly trouble, none of the flags will help with that and end up just wasted. (you can buy them with coal if you really want them, you easily get over 1000 coal per day with the daily containers by playing a few matches)
i actually went without any economic bonuses back in the day for a year and a half. as example, if my memory serves, it took me a bit over 100 matches to level up my bismark with shipxp and by that time i had the credits i needed. turns out xp and credits are pretty balanced in wows, as long as you dont boost your xp-gain more than your credit-gain, you will likely have what you need when the time comes.
or just get yourself a freemium or premium T5-T8 and play it regularly for the extra credits.(the freemiums are pretty good and can be obtained for coal by just playing a few matches every day for a month or two)

After 2020 I took a long hiatus from this game. And when I returned I found WG had changed the economy completely. I still struggle to understand how this new economy works. Back in the day you could almost always make a small profit in credits even in tier9 and tier10. But now I only do that if I have exceptionally good games.

Both ship that i bought are trash armor ship which i learn about positioning and what to do step by step. Since its premium, i always gain more credit even tho with all premium consumables activated
By those 2 ships, i can understand a lot of bow tanking, hugging island, kiting and etc. Also since they have trash armor, i understand sustain in game meanwhile do some job for it.
My favorite since i have both of them being bottom tier, idk why when bottom tiered is more fun than being top tiered.

I've been around since the Closed Beta Test, I was really enjoying the game right up to when they added Subs in the game, but even before that, the MM was terrible I still get PTSD for my times in T5 especially in the Omaha cruiser, that thing is and STILL is a floating citadel.
The games economy wasn't that bad but it wasn't great either, it really sucked when you have a good game, and new players will learn this, theres now worse feeling then having a great game come at a lose. And with the games economy now, a loss will hurt even more unless your running premium account time to give you some cushion.
And there will be times were you will have to sell your favorite ships just to skip the regrinding of credits to unlocking the new one you finished researching and hope you have some credits left over for post-services in port because the first few games in a stock ship is brutal especially in lower tiers.
I play mostly Co-Op and partake in events now. Its rare now that i play PvP I even have 1,000+ battles with a 52% win rate. I stopped because they still cant get the MM right and they added submarines with force guided photon torpedoes in the game. Now they added losing money on the list. Thats just me.

That’s one of the things that gaijin does better than wargaming is making premiums worth it. I bought the Atlanta all those years ago and didn’t realize I would have to spend money just to convert the xp to free xp. It’s fucking crazy that you spend 70 dollars for premiums and then have to dump more money into the game just to be able to actually use the xp to grind with. But back in the day I had ships from all nations and now I’m down to 1 coal Sherman and whatever ship I’m grinding with because I sold the rest just to afford the next tier. 🙄 400 to 700k a match is just nuts and then people wonder why the matchmaking is constant uptiers when it drives new players away when they realize they get to fight t9’s with sometimes double their range and health in a t7 because wows doesn’t have enough new players. 🤷‍♂️

My advice to new players: test server. Install it. Play it. You can preview any tech tree line you like. Go up each one playing some randoms or even coop. You get community tokens that eventually get you a FREE tier 5 or 7 ship and more importantly you are given more than enough free xp and credits to dive into any line you want. Then you have a better idea about what you want to spend time grinding on the live server. You can also use test server to experiment with captain builds and equipment upgrades. Another big time saver.
