Honestly these games may be the best introduction to the more complex console gaming experience. You never lose progress by dying, so you can take your time learning the controls, and you can afford looking down at the controller to learn the buttons.
I'm glad they took their time and didn't worry about rushing it out. I'm so ready to be jumping into all the sagas again! May the Force be with you all, Always!

11:56 The Complete Saga has online co-op support. Not including online co-op is a real bummer, especially because of the pandemic. I read somewhere that the development of the game suffered from bad management, where the decision to omit online co-op was one of the unfortunate casualties because of said managment.
Polygon's article mentions this. A developer says directly "The director would request new mechanics on a whim, then ask that they be changed, whilst never actually fixing anything that really mattered. Read every review of a Lego game. They always say the same [things]: ‘Platforming is pants, the camera is terrible, no online co-op.’" I recommend reading the whole article. It really sheds a light on the toll making this game took on the studio.
@@AgentMS That’s sad maybe Microsoft or Sony might buy the studio(s) and get better management implemented with more support from other studios they own.
I've been so hyped for this game, glad to see it's finally delivering on quality after all the delays. A little weird that online multiplayer isn't a feature here, but part of the charm of these really is the couch co-op, so it's nice that at least one game is explicitly offering that experience still. Was probably going to buy this anyway, but your vote of confidence has sealed my purchase. Thanks Karak!
I can't wait to play Revenge of the Sith! With a lot of the Clone Wars voice actors voicing their old characters, it will be as close as we will ever get to having a Clone Wars style Revenge of the Sith.
The only thing I dislike if how poorly they handled the music in game. Places like Coruscant or Geonosis (in the free roam) don't have any John Williams composition, instead they use some generic music. Kamino doesn't have its theme, they put a Naboo music instead, The Battle of Yavin doesn't use the movie music but the wrong one instead and the list goes on and on. It's a shame because complete saga handled it way better.
Since we have such a different way of patching up games nowadays maybe they can rectify the music issues with a patch? With Complete Saga coming out so long ago maybe they were that much more anal retentive on nailing the music since the copy you got was absolutely final. If anything I'm sure with a PC copy the incorrect music could be fixed with modding too, maybe. Sucks they overlooked that all the same!
Agree this is the reason i just ordered the deluxe version on PC i need a chill out title that's pretty on the eye and has humour. Plus i love star wars and lego lol.
It's hard to describe *but* The lighting, texture definition, reflections, attention to detail, culture, envisionmentalization, ventilation, paralysis analysis, master craft designing, jet fueled cooling, portability , probability.....( *TO this day, ACG is still describing it in perfect detail* )

Kind of a weird game tbh. It rushes through so much of the story that I find it hard to feel immersed in Star Wars. Feels like a chore to play. A lot of funny moments though.
Love the review. Love the game. It’s the best Lego game ever made, and being someone with a huge real life Lego Star Wars collection, collecting all the ships and living out my childhood dreams in game for is more satisfying here than ever.
Have never played a Lego Star Wars game before, and this is my entry game that I will buy on day one. Thanks for the solid review as always,ACG.You got me sold into getting this for sure now. 👊🏽
My main complaint of Lego games has never been the look or the dialogue (or lack thereof) from the games, but the utter lack of playtesting and refinement of the levels themselves. Dimensions GREATLY suffered from wildly varying quality. Maybe it's all been kinda downhill since Lego City Undercover, though I'm happy to pick this game up and play through with my kids ... eventually.
Thank you Karak, you have the best game reviews and are my number one go to for reviews! I had given up on Lego games but this looks like a welcome change in so many ways and as a huge Star Wars fan I am looking forward to jumping in to this one!
Missing things I'd say everyone would love to be added either in an update or a future game would be online multiplayer (why haven't they done it yet?), a robust character creator (which was available in all other games, not always that robust though) and maybe a checkpoint system for those who want a more challenging game (ofc, optional). Otherwise, this really is a complete package.
My wallet is hurting!!! This will be the last game I get til June. Then another in July. I’m glad some gaming stuff is getting delayed or canceled. I can no longer keep up this year! 😂
The only Lego games I've played is the original Lego Star Wars trilogy for PS2, Lego Batman and Lego LOTR. So just seeing a proper 3rd person perspective and crazy good graphics is kinda mind blowing. I do think I like the overhead camera more for a Lego game, but this definitely improves the combat and breaks up the monotony.
What I love about this game is that you know that it wasn’t just developed by cooperate people trying to cash in on its name *cough* EA *cough* but actual Star Wars fans making this amazing experience. Like only Star Wars fans would laugh at the parody scenes and jokes like Chewie in the medal scene or the Jedi talking to Rey scene or Mauls death scene. You’d only laugh if you watched and love the movies and the creators deserve a massive round of applause for paying tribute to us as fans
Might be that we grew up but I could never keep playing them like I did as a kid, but this ome looks like it’ll keep one’s attention (helps that I care about the IP)

So many long time gaming franchises this decade seem to be truly taking that next evolutionary step, like Kirby going 3D, and Pokemon Trying out an open world. This game seems to be evolving it’s series as well
normally the humor in these is a little bit childish for me but in this game I found myself laughing at the fact that there was one single man with a push mower mowing the grass on the entire planet of Naboo
As somebody who is just a Star Wars fan and never played any Lego games before , this game has its charm and fun but honestly, I wouldn't buy it again.
Great video but you really thought the prequel voice actors were worse? They are mostly The Clone Wars voice actors so it sounded amazing to hear them say the movie quotes
I'm not gonna lie. my impression was it was gonna be a re-release of Lego starwars with the new episodes added, but its actually a full remake with the new episodes added. I might get this now
Been watching a lot of reviews for the game and really glad to hear the game was able to deliver on not only the remaking of a experience but add onto it as well. Great video!
It's not bad but it's not really amazing either. Just expected much more on PS5 and Series X than this. It's like it still has the exact same memory settings for when things vanish as the xbox one and PS4.
Continuing the story circles, force and putting away the lightsaber being the same button on controller are my biggest gripes so far but other than that game’s good.
im gonna have to disagree, this is much more like an over the shoulder shooter and like exploration game, its far to cinematic and really not as interactive as past lego games it just a retelling of the movies,, its an alright game but its just not the same as other lego games, i personally really don’t like the changes and id prefer if coming games dont go down this route, of being 50% cutscenes and 50% walking and button mash boss fights, the character classes streamline gameplay sure but it makes them feely same-y and generic all characters having the same skill set
This looks awesome. I was probably going to get it anyways but what I expected was the complete saga + new levels for 7-9 (not sure if those games already exist). This looks brand new and totally blows my expectations out of the water. I'm gonna avoid seeing anymore and just get it myself. I loved the complete saga, lord of the rings, I'm dying to play this.
I’m so stoked. I got the Deluxe Edition for my Series X; plus this will be the first LEGO Star Wars game that I’ll have ever played, so doubly excited! 😁
I was expecting just a shiner version of the complete saga, but this is so much better than what I was anticipating, definitely purchasing it when I get the chance
I’m really excited what this could mean for LEGO Indiana Jones getting the same treatment. The lighting work here is too-notch, and would look amazing in dimly-lit temples/caverns with GI bounce.
Idk bro since there isn’t a new movie coming out yet ( until like a couple more years but things could change ). Star wars is still a hit for the younger generation while Lego Indiana Jones isn’t. But it would be cool to have a remastered version
Yeah LEGO Indiana Jones was my fav between all the LEGO games when I was younger, even though I loved actually putting real life LEGO Star Wars together/playing w them
honestly doubt it, they went through absolute hell to get this game out, and they knew it would sell decently well. indiana jones just isn't as popular as star wars. I would like to be proven wrong though
I picked up my first lego game recently (Lego city undercover) and I am having an absolute blast! I always assumed I wouldn't like them and they were only for kids but I am a grown man playing it on switch. I think I will pick this one up too!! Any suggestions for other top lego games?
lego marvel superheroes 1 and lego batman 1 & 2 if you like their IPs. Lego Hobbit/Lord of the rings, Harry Potter and the lego star wars I, TCS and III
I've played all of them and I'd say the best ones are Lego City, LOTR and Lego Batman 2. It also heavily depends on how interesting you find the IP they're based on. I don't really like the Marvel movies so I didn't really enjoy the Lego Marvel games although they're many people's favorites. Other solid entries are DC Supervillains and Jurassic World.
This is the biggest Lego game I've ever played. We had a death in the family prior to this game's release and I got so severely depressed I gave up but my little sister's friend caused me to launch back into the galaxies to try going 100% I am trying to get everything in the entire game
Last LEGO game I played was DC Supervillains, looks like it's finally time to change that. Already preordered it months ago and I cannot wait till it unlocks for me tomorrow. Great review as always Karak!
Definitely getting this for my younger brother and I since we love split screen co-op and there are very few games that are both age appropriate and fun for the both of us
This game looks INCREDIBLE for sure. All credit to the developer Tt games. But it is boring! Levels are basically running from one point to another. It's like spending lots of money for a 4K TV with surround sound... but having the most tedious shows to actually watch.
It really looks (gameplay and visual wise) better than I expected! I am glad it's finally out. But I must say Weird West is my priority right now to buy and then I'll probably get this one next ✨
totally agree. It's true that for the moment I, played only the first episode, but I felt there wasn't nothing except run and shoot (pod racer level was fun though)
For the first time in a long time, I'm actually excited to play a Lego video game. Until now, Lego titles have been getting churned out one after another with the same copy and paste formula. Sure, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is still a Lego video game at heart, but it feels like something different, somehow. It has charm and personality. Most importantly, it looks really fun and enjoyable. I've held off playing Lego games. Though, the trend will change with this one. Otherwise, thanks as always Karak for another honest, unbiased and detailed review. I really appreciate the continued hard work!
I bought it after watching this review! It's on sale on ps store for 47.99! I love Lego games but I was still waiting! Thanks for the great review and giving me that push I needed to get it 🤣
Considering all the recent Lego Star Wars games (see: post 360 era)- have felt lackluster, I was never quite too excited for this game. In fact, its existence and development became a mediocre background noise, lashed upon by the interest of Covid-Era development. However, after watching this review, I find myself intrigued beyond measure, as it now is giving me hope of playing a next-gen Star Wars Lego game deam. Pardon me as I review splurge- to be sure Im not wasting my $ dueing a failing economy. That said, I feel pretty confident this will be one of the best game purchases I make this year (Still eyeballing hope for Starfield!).
Can't wait to play this with my sister. I grew up playing the Lego games, especially Star Wars. The first console I ever had was a Gameboy Advance SP with Lego Star Wars The Videogame.
This game is pretty amazing. Only issue I have is on PC using mouse and keyboard the menu system is a little clunky, definitely easier using the Xbox controller plugged in. Also 8/10 IGN, 7/10 gamespot? This is why I don’t bother reading “mainstream” game review channels… seriously out of touch - this is one of the best games we’ve had come out in awhile and this is coming from a non-Lego fan.
Not a Lego game person myself. I played Avengers on PS3 and enjoyed that. Thinking about grabbing this. I could see myself enjoying this as a casual hop on when im in a lull game and I could see my fiancee enjoying this as well, giving us something to play together.
Grabbed this last night, and I'm really enjoying it so far I've barely played it overall compared to what there is in the game, but it's a testament because I'm slamming through the sequel trilogy first because I want to save the best for last And I'm having fun playing around in movies that I generally don't have a favorable opinion of
This is a small thing, but I wish these games would embrace the Lego movie animation style that is more like stop motion and they never bend where there isn't a joint, watching their arms and legs bend here like their arms are made out of play-dough looks so off to me.
Never really played a lego game but they have always looked fun and the amount of Star Wars Content has me wanting to check it out just for something different and maybe layed back and fun to play.
Mine would absolutely be a wait. I pre-ordered and played for a week, but now I'm stuck at like 80% completion as I've got two broken missions I can't progress, and I'm stuck in Episode 8. I also had like 8 crashes and a few other annoying issues. Desperately needs a patch or two to fix gamebreaking bugs. However this might be the first lego game I'd want to replay through from scratch. Buying the stud multipliers right away made it so easy, I kinda want to 100% it again without them.
I've played all but 2 of the Lego games and I'm finding this one very underwhelming compared to previous ones. So many things are missing and it's so heavily focused on the free roam aspect that the story missions are incredibly lacking, each mission legit takes around 5 minutes to complete. It's still a really good game but it's so far from the best
I have a ton of nostalgia for the ps2 Era Lego star wars games. While I wouldn't buy this for just myself, I will be buying it to play with my daughters. Let's make some new memories everyone.
This game is very overrated- I would say wait for sale. The puzzles are extremely repetitive, and it doesn’t seem designed for co-op play at all with the level design. I was very disappointed.
I remeber playing the original Lego Star Wars game. Then the original Lego Batman Game. Then The Lego Harry Potter game. As a dane, i'm proud of how a family from Billund, created one of the most renowned toy chaines in the world. Lego was my childhood, and it's still loads of fun
So far it’s been a blast. Credits are easier to get and my only issue is a personal one. That being that we didn’t get a remake of the space battle in Episode 3 from the original game since it was my main stud earner. Still the first mission in episode 9 is a great replacement for it.
Sup! Some bugs some slowdown but damn I enjoyed the changes!

Great review. Game looks really good. I am holding off until the inevitable discounted price. Lego games tend to drop in price relatively fast.
I’m so stoked. I got the Deluxe Edition for my Series X; plus this will be the first LEGO Star Wars game that I’ll have ever played, so doubly excited! 😁
Same here I have Series x and Ps5 I got the deluxe for the ps5! Can’t wait to pick it up after work tommorw!
@@chuck176 How much the deluxe version for PS5 ?
I was expecting just a shiner version of the complete saga, but this is so much better than what I was anticipating,
definitely purchasing it when I get the chance
No
I’m really excited what this could mean for LEGO Indiana Jones getting the same treatment.
Yeah LEGO Indiana Jones was my fav between all the LEGO games when I was younger, even though I loved actually putting real life LEGO Star Wars together/playing w them
@@enzopalma5376 They just recently finished filming the next movie. I bet you it will come out next year.
honestly doubt it, they went through absolute hell to get this game out, and they knew it would sell decently well. indiana jones just isn't as popular as star wars. I would like to be proven wrong though
4:53 Omfg the Ben Swolo meme 😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️
I desperately NEED a break from Elden Ring... so this little gem really comes at the right time :)
Yes!! Godfrey been clapping my cheeks
You mean "STOMPING". His second form is freaking hilarious. Lol
Same….. yeah Godfrey’s second phase was a whole thing for me, took an afternoon and lots of trying not to get tilted 😂
The thing about the neighborhood wife and lawn was hilarious 😂
I picked up my first lego game recently (Lego city undercover) and I am having an absolute blast! I always assumed I wouldn't like them and they were only for kids but I am a grown man playing it on switch. I think I will pick this one up too!! Any suggestions for other top lego games?
lego marvel superheroes 1 and lego batman 1 & 2 if you like their IPs. Lego Hobbit/Lord of the rings, Harry Potter and the lego star wars I, TCS and III
Oh hoooo. Lego City Undercover is legit man
I've played all of them and I'd say the best ones are Lego City, LOTR and Lego Batman 2. It also heavily depends on how interesting you find the IP they're based on. I don't really like the Marvel movies so I didn't really enjoy the Lego Marvel games although they're many people's favorites. Other solid entries are DC Supervillains and Jurassic World.
@@ACGreviews possibly the best Lego game maybe Lego TSS can be on par/better
@@ACGreviews you should do a Review of assault spy best anime spectacle fighter ever and it was done by one man
This is the biggest Lego game I've ever played.
*hums imperial death march while walking into work
I've played every lego game since the original Star Wars. Haven't been this excited about a Lego game since Harry Potter years 1-7 👌🏻
This game would be perfect on a steam deck. A total nostalgia hit from playing Lego star wars on my PSP
Can't wait to play this tomorrow. It's going to be epic. 👍
It really looks (gameplay and visual wise) better than I expected! I am glad it's finally out. But I must say Weird West is my priority right now to buy and then I'll probably get this one next ✨
What’s Weird West?
@@uajrh1 ACG recently covered it here. It's a simulator of the weird west and you can make diff choices and create your own adventures
@@MissBubbles oh I play tons of games like that so I may check this one out :)
I grew up playing the original LEGO Star Wars. This is a dream come true.
Now I just hope that they can do the same thing for the MCU's Infinity Saga.
That would be cool
I’m very disappointed with the levels in this game. Feels like a 3rd person shooter rather then a fun puzzle filled level with multiple sections.
totally agree. It's true that for the moment I, played only the first episode, but I felt there wasn't nothing except run and shoot (pod racer level was fun though)
Square footprints on snow and sand for the Lego characters is just too damn charming.
Thanks for the great review and giving me that push I needed to get it 🤣
I just got it to lol
On ps5 4k this looks amazing
The first Death Star was designed by Galen Urso, and he put that exhaust port there on purpose so someone COULD destroy it
Thus the joke about the memes even within the story
Ok. This was not on my radar but u and Skill Up have convinced me to download it right now. 😃
Hello! Just picked up my copy for PS5 it’s downloading/updating now! Been waiting a MINUTE to get this!
excellent review. Question: the footage near the end video (crash landing in the swamp), which episode is this from?
Dang K, ur churning these vids out like clockwork. Mad respect, but just make sure your grabbing a full eight hours every so often.
Appreciate the review Karak. It's definitely raised it up my wishlist.
I can't believe my most anticipated game for 2022 as a 21 year old man is the lego game for children.
I'm 37 and I've been waiting on this game since it's 2019 announcement. Lego games are for everyone!
Grabbed this last night, and I'm really enjoying it so far
I've barely played it overall compared to what there is in the game, but it's a testament because I'm slamming through the sequel trilogy first because I want to save the best for last
And I'm having fun playing around in movies that I generally don't have a favorable opinion of
This is a small thing, but I wish these games would embrace the Lego movie animation style that is more like stop motion and they never bend where there isn't a joint, watching their arms and legs bend here like their arms are made out of play-dough looks so off to me.
Can’t wait for this and it comes out on my birthday tomorrow what a great present for myself! Love the review my man!
Sorry but 5 minutes sounds like a gross exaggeration.
Okay, it takes alot longer than 5 minutes. Like alot, alot longer.
@@parkaller7959 no no it doesn’t
@@colehunger949 Well, for me, it does take alot longer. But I usually look around alot in the levels and explore.
I have been waiting for this review thanks
I have a ton of nostalgia for the ps2 Era Lego star wars games. While I wouldn't buy this for just myself, I will be buying it to play with my daughters. Let's make some new memories everyone.
This game is very overrated- I would say wait for sale. The puzzles are extremely repetitive, and it doesn’t seem designed for co-op play at all with the level design. I was very disappointed.
It’s also pretty uncreative for a Lego game. Infact besides the cutscenes it might as well not be a Lego game.
If you’re not a Star Wars fan, or lego fan, then move on, it’s not for you
@@ArkSucksAtGames dude , it’s a garbage game . Mediocre as hell, does not even need to be Lego , this game is just so boring & so disappointing
I’m really hoping the hype/popularity of this game will make LEGO bring back some discontinued Star Wars builds, specifically the AT-OT.
The only review that matters! Thanks for your quality content as always ACG!
I say: wait. $60 for a Lego game with Xbox 360 graphics? It's bound to drop in price.
Unbelievable to me that they would release this game in 2022 without online co-op. Kills it for me.
Don't buy it then
I remeber playing the original Lego Star Wars game.
8 years ago I played and beat The Complete Saga, so I'm really hyped and can't wait to get this for my 20th birthday!
