Went to this Ren Faire on opening day and it was so much fun! Definitely recommend to anyone who's debating going!

Thank you for showing so much of the shops. Most of video's of the faire skip right over the shops. They are half the fun of the faire!

My family and I like to go there every year, we get our tickets from Menards too! It's always a good time. I'm going this weekend - looking forward to eating lots of mushrooms and drinking lots of sarsparilla!

How cool is that? I didnt know there were Renaissance Festivals outside the South. HAHAHA. LIKE 4. 👍👍👍

Though the South is home to the biggest Renaissance faire in the world - Texas Renaissance Faire - some of the most famous Renaissance faires aren't in the South: Renaissance Pleasure Faire (in California), Pennsylvania, New York, Colorado, and of course Bristol in Kenosha, WI.

@@IowaDad81 Maryland has a decent one too. Most states have a Ren Faire these days. But TRF is indeed the biggest and best. 50th year this year. Can't wait.

@@timradde4328 Bristol is the easiest of the big ones for me to get to. Texas is on the bucket list for sure, though.

It's fun and unique, but expensive. Shows are free after entry fee, but they ask for tips. There are a lot of handmade items not from China, which is a plus.

If y'all ever see Pyramid Head at Bristol, hello in advance cause I can't see nor hear for shit with the helmet on. Especially with the built in portable boss music

The performer schedule is always on the back of the map. Take a picture of the back next year. 😉

Slow it down as your filming. I felt like you were going at 1.5 speed the whole time 😂

The map you showed at the start is 2 sided, ghe schedule for that week is on the opposite side. If you want to plan ahead, both are available as PDFs from the website. Map is always the same for that year, but the schedule changes each week. Usually available by Wednesday if not then Thursday. So instead of having a photo, have a hires PDF version on your phone.
7:49 Maiden Voyage has been there for years. at least since 2012 when I started working at BRF. Same spot, you may have just missed it as there is a lot to take in. I used to be a patron (with a season pass), then a playtron, then cast for 4 years and I can gaurantee you that you cannot.see everything in 1 weekend alone. It takes like 5-6 weekends with planned schedules to see MOST of it.
12:50 rain is fun at faire, lightning is not. We still perform even in downpours.
13:05 the little sand/castle area has been there since at leaet 2014 and I think before. Some of those years arw a jumble to me. LOL
16:00 a lot of that is improv, not scripted at all.
17:15 convective storms are harder to predict. Storms associated with frontal systems passing are easier. I was a MET major before I changed to IT.
21:20 wrong side of map. You thought you were on the "bottom" (east) side of the faire when you were on the "top" (west) side going left in map perspective on High Street. Especially if you are approaching the bakery. Then you went down Guild Hall row as you popped out where the glass blower shows his craft at certain times. As I said, its such an immersive experience you can easily get lost.

The castle in the sand pit has been there since at least 2009. I have a picture of my two kids in the castle from the first time we went.

I have never once been there where it hasn't either been a 100*f dustbowl, or at least ankle deep in mud (or sometimes both in the same day).

I've worked there many, many years so I see how it is every weekend, and it's fine. Yes, your shoes will always get dusty and mud does exist sometimes when it rains but it's not bad.

Went August 5, 2024. There are acres of property for parking yet they charge $15 cash only. The food and drink venders also accept cash only. Drink venders do not list prices. There is nowhere to go that’s air conditioned to get out of the sweltering heat unless you can find the shade of a tree but those locations are where many of the performances are. It seemed to me this place was more of a Halloween party in August featuring many from the LGBTQ community. Saw at least 4 male attendees walking around wearing full length womens dresses, an overweight middle aged woman dressed like the Statue of Liberty, many people had fake pointy ears, wings or antlers coming out of their head. There was a dude walking around dressed as Jesus of Nazareth. None of these costumes have anything to do with the Renaissance. An expensive day out to swelter in oppressive heat with no cooling area among a bunch of weirdos

Well don’t you seem like a hoot! Glad to hear you won’t be attending again, the faire is for all people and you can be/dress however you’d like, after all their famous phrase is “where fantasy rules”, if you are looking for historical accuracy, you may want to attend a SCA fair.

Then don't go. Simple as that. Many of us love Faire. Who cares what you go as as long as you're having fun. Which of course you did not. I'd suggest you watch paint dry instead.
