    Michelle, WOW WOW WOW. What a winner. I have that same template set. But here it is three years later and one major move later I'm looking high and low for them😂. You are so creative and such a patient, organized, and concise teacher. Thanks for all the work you do. 🎶💐💖🫂

    I don’t buy layer cakes either, so cutting strips is such a good idea. Thank you

    If you do a pinwheel on the D piece, you could also colour the c piece to create a secondary pattern

    • @bitspiecesquilting
      @bitspiecesquilting  5 місяців тому

      Hi Deborah - you are so right! There seems to be an endless array of options for these and I love the idea of making a secondary design with another piece. I think I'll have to play with these a little bit more! Thanks for watching.

    Hi Michelle. You are a great teacher. I enjoy your tutorials and your beautiful quilts. I particularly like the choice of the rusty red in this quilt. Perhaps you intended it to represent the rusty red dust of the Australian outback? Regardless, it was an inspired choice with the indigenous art fabrics. Cheers

    • @bitspiecesquilting
      @bitspiecesquilting  4 місяці тому

      Thanks so much Bludeetu! I would love to say that the red to represent the outback was exactly our intention.... but alas, no. It was just a colour we thought looked great with the fabrics. Both Jason and I were really touched by this insight, however. There is an exhibit on at the National Gallery of Australia at the moment featuring the work of Emily Kam Kngwarray based on her experience in the red centre. It was stunning and worth seeing! Thanks so much for watching.

    Karen Montgomery, who invented this ruler set has a book, Crazier Eights Playbook, with alternative ways to use them. (I have the other ruler sets that she invented - same idea different shapes.)

      Hi Aviva - this is great insight - thanks! I wasn't familiar with Karen or her work, but really keen to find other fun ways to use these. I can see from an internet preview that she has made fish by combining some of the different pieces!! Thanks so much for sharing this.

    What are the templates called? Are they crazy quilt templates? I live.the quilt you are showing with the E block. It's gorgeous.❤😊

    • @bitspiecesquilting
      @bitspiecesquilting  5 місяців тому

      Hi Evelyn - I think they are called Crazy Eights. But some places, like Amazon, don't really give them a name. If you search for 10 inch quilt templates, you should be able to find them.

    Where can we get the fabric. Love the colors

    • @bitspiecesquilting
      @bitspiecesquilting  10 днів тому

      Hi Craig - I bought most of the fabric at Spotlight stores in Australia. I have never seen these sorts of Indigenous prints anywhere else, so really enjoyed using them (and buying them!) while living in Australia. Thanks for watching.
