Another big part of our shipping container house: THE ROOF. Building the roof was a HUGE challenge for us and there were several times that we both felt like giving up. Today we have another addition to our timelapse series where we go over the complete build of the roof from start to finish! Join us and watch the roof come to life!

Your meticulous approach to building a cantilever rooftop for your container house is truly inspiring, showcasing your craftsmanship and innovative spirit. Your dedication to sharing the journey from start to finish enriches our understanding of architectural creativity and sustainable living. And I am Floating Village Life
Thank you very much! :)
That was a massive amount of planning and not to mention welding. I can't wait to see it all finished.
Definitely!! Us too :)
I've watched every step along your journey and the best part is when you capture all the work you've done in something like this one. I especially love the snips where either of you show your joy with a laugh or a smile when you see what you've accomplished. Thanks for the cheerful update!
Thanks for following along!! 😊
Crazy amount of thinking to get everything cut and put into place. Will be nice when you get your home finished. ❤
Thank you!!
The start to finish time-lapse video are so cool ❤
Thank you so much!! :)
I already seen this!!!
It’s part of our Timelapse series where I condense multiple videos of our container house build into one video. Working on new content but it takes A LOT of time to film, edit, and build. Some steps take weeks to complete. So in the meantime, hope you enjoy a recap of the roof construction.
@@PacificPinesRanch keep doin watcha doin. I like the different perspectives and time lapses.
Very impressive to say the least. Great job
I haven't seen before this Incredible job. You're building a huge and amazing house, I really do love it. Your wife is enviable, she's not only a beautiful woman but she is a hard-working and resourceful handy woman as well. so both of you can build anything. Congrats
Thank you so much!! :)
Lookin goooooood !!!!!!!!
Thx so much!!!
I remember watching this step by step... bit by littly - nice to see it in this time lapse! Very cool!
Thank you so much!!!
Excellent work you guys. I continue to..., " can't wait until the next episode" !!!!!!
Thank you so much!! :)
Can't wait to see what you have planned for that rooftop deck. Looks amazing already.
Thanks so much!! :)
You ought to add handrails on the roof and make it a party deck. I absolutely love what you are doing, thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you!! Definitely going to do something like that! 😊
thats proper grafting..keep on keeping
Thank you!! :)
I do love a good timelapse. It was fun to see the roof build in one video as I know how hard you worked on it.
I have to say I am so looking forward to seeing what you do for the front door, is that on the list for this summer?
Keep it up Jess and Vailant, soon you'll be kicking back with a cocktail on the balcony, watching the clouds roll by.
Nicky in England x
Thank you so much!! We are doing the front door in the next few steps I think! It will be really cool and unique. Can’t wait to share it 😊
Looking Excellent 🙂
Thank you!!
You been busy hi from Colorado Springs 😀
We definitely have! :)
Just great..!!
You both are fantastic and hard working can’t wait to see next vlog 😊
Thank you so much!!
Wonderful presentation of your construction skills ..
Thx so much!!
Very enjoyable video. Don't wish sometimes y'all could work this fast.😄
Thank you!! Yes I definitely wish that lol
Great camera work! RenoRoger
Thank you!!
I’ve already seen the roof build
Love it so much keep it up as always 💘
Thank you! Will do! :)
A beautiful house you are building! Looked like a lot of places for moisture to get into the metal structure - long sides of all up right support(sorry, calk will not last long. Curious, why not a Metal Roof - simply put a platform on top of that if you want that roof deck. I can guarantee the non torch-down roof you put down will not last as long as even a real torch-down. Everything you guys do is amazing!
Thank you so much!! It’s been 2 years since we finished the roof and so far it’s holding up well. We’ll see how it does after a few more years. It was really challenging to find a product that will work for what we are planning on doing with the roof. Eventually the bottom of the roof will be covered with soffits so the roof will be enclosed (but ventilated).
Your Overlord, Peanut seems to have more subtle tastes in colors and fabrics than I'd anticipated for the super sofa. But why not a Chita Print ? he he ! A ramp for Peanut may be needed in the plan of course... Laser print one ? I was anticipating you would directly spray the container's roof with a sealer product, a truck bed liner material, or lay down a EPDM sheet roofing product to prevent leaks in hard to reach areas of container roofs... The bottom of plywood is still exposed as well, do you have a way to prevent water or humidity under deck ? Roof looks great ! Congratulations !
Thanks so much!! We will be installing soffit under the roof to enclose it so it should be good to go after that! :)
Hi, I have subscribed since you built your second floor of the building. However, for some reason I do not get all of the videos you have downloaded since I became a subscriber even after clicking on the notification bell.
Thanks for being a subscriber! It should be notifying you once I post a new video either by email, or pop up notifications on your phone. If it doesn't you might have to double check your notification settings I think.
👍👍👍
Thank you!!
It sure is a long way down from that southwest corner. It makes my butt pucker just seeing it in your video. I'm sure it was intense for you guys.
It was definitely pretty scary!!
Last weeks video was a repeat as well.
Last week was new content. (We finished installing the glass for the 3rd level). We also put out another video mid week where we designed and built an end table.
This video is part of our new timelapse series where we take several videos and combine them into one video to show the full process start to finish.
❤😊🎉
Thank you!!
heute verstehe ich von dem Technikzeug nix, aber ich gucke zu......
Danke fürs zuschauen!
No insulation on the roof?
And why are there so many beams? Such a margin of safety, is this a helicopter pad for the МИ-12?
The beams are for the structure, but no Heli pad unfortunately :)
So no new content?
New content is on the way... it takes A LOT of time to film, edit, and build all at the same time and some steps take weeks to complete. So while we continue working on new things, hope you enjoy this recap of the process of building the roof from start to finish. :)
@@PacificPinesRanch It was great to see the whole roof process all in one video. I had forgotten just how much work it was, each step so laborious. Can't wait to see you up lounging with your view of the ocean through the trees...
