The romans actually had arrows specifically designed to decapitate ostriches. They would get a bunch of them in the coliseum and would chop their heads off with the arrows just to see them running around headless like chickens.
Crescent arrows were used during the same time as the Valhalla game and throughout history and all across the world. Modern day hunters use them for turkey hunting. But there is a lot of questions on how they were used because they're also found on Indian anti-elephant arrows.

The ending comments, about the Vikings stopping their attacks, it didn't have that much to do with the Church. They stopped attacking, because many of them moved in and settled in the British Isles and France. They also took on common customs from the natives, such as turning Christian, because that was a good move politically. MatPat and team make good videos, but history just isn't something they do well. The HEMA UA-camrs will go into more detail on what else was just wrong in this video.

Imagine setting it in any part of the Mongol Empire, whether its the Golden Horde on the Russian front, the Ilkhanate with the Islamic world or even Mongol China proper on the conflicts between the Yuan and the remaining Song (though that might be a bit touchy, it could either make China angry or become a propaganda piece for China...) . With how massive the empire was, one could set several games in that area. Appeal/Sales-wise, however, would be quite niche... *sigh* Also, HRE, the Protestant Reformation, 30 years war, etc., all perfect for an Assassins vs Templar plot.

Also said the samurai would just put an arrow through the knight before he got close, which is silly, because the knights in game wear full plate, making single arrows essentially nothing unless it some how gets into a kink in their armor, which is unlikely, even from a very close range. If you want a full breakdown of how bad the video was, just search Metatron Game Theory response, or Shadiversity Game Theory response, or Skalgrim game theory response. They all break it down pretty easily and point out the inaccuracies and all literally end up saying that it is a silly comparison in the first place, especially considering that Vikings were a lot earlier when compared to both of them.
being wrong about something doesn't mean you can never talk about a similar subject. He made some historically inaccurate claims in both videos, but he was correct about some things as well. I think he should keep making attempts. That's the only way to get better.

To be clear they aren't good offensive weapons (ps: dagger is most underrated weapon ever). Shields are both great weapon and defensive tool. But even if possible there is really no reason to dual wield them.

The ending comments, about the Vikings stopping their attacks, it didn't have that much to do with the Church. They stopped attacking, because many of them moved in and settled in the British Isles and France. They also took on common customs from the natives, such as turning Christian, because that was a good move politically.
MatPat and team make good videos, but history just isn't something they do well. The HEMA UA-camrs will go into more detail on what else was just wrong in this video.

Also said the samurai would just put an arrow through the knight before he got close, which is silly, because the knights in game wear full plate, making single arrows essentially nothing unless it some how gets into a kink in their armor, which is unlikely, even from a very close range. If you want a full breakdown of how bad the video was, just search Metatron Game Theory response, or Shadiversity Game Theory response, or Skalgrim game theory response. They all break it down pretty easily and point out the inaccuracies and all literally end up saying that it is a silly comparison in the first place, especially considering that Vikings were a lot earlier when compared to both of them.
