psst....don't need to take the solenoid off. That said, this was great. I'm having the leak that is spewing from the inlet side of the jar-to lid (by the detent / alignment nub).. This was 2 yrs ago. I clicked on your link...$6.27 for the Diaphragm.
Any one with an Hunter system....Jar-tops are easy to work on. If you live in location that needs winterization, the lids may be on tight. So use caution if you go after them with channel locks. I use a plumbing wrench or Lock-nut wrench. You can even replace the solenoid or the entire valve... The Valves are still available. Irrigation warehouses have them for $50 or less..
Great job! Very informative. I did exactly what you said, and fixed my three valves! Thanks!
Thanks for watching, I'm glad the video helped!
Thanks for the video Todd! It helped me a lot to understand the issue with my sprinkler.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad it helped!
Box filled up with water due to leaking valve. Cleaned it all out, found leaking valve and replaced it. Now it’s the only valve that will run. I can run them all manually, but the computer will only turn on the new one despite which valve is supposed to be running. I even tried unwiring that one valve and it still comes on!
Great Video, appreciate your work.
You don’t have to unplug your controller to replace a valve. Your controller only puts out low voltage so it won’t shock you as much. Also when the controller is on the off position. It does not send out electricity to those valves
Great job!
Awesome!!!
When I saw leaking, I assumed something was cracked from improper removal of water before winter. I'm about to try a diaphragm replacement on one that is leaking. Where exactly does the leaking water come from? I was thinking that the unit was sealed and that if it was leaking, it would only go to the sprinklers.
I have the middle system thats in this video. Do you have a video on how to change that one?
Great video and info. What type of rubber gloves did you use? They look to have gripping to them.
They look like these, we use for mechanic shop work an are great!

Thanks for the video but I was wondering what is wrong with the diaphram?
Thanks for watching, I am not sure what happens to them exactly but they can go bad. Thanks again for watching!
Kind of like a toilet flapper that works for years then starts to leak.🎉
hi todd, my front yard sprinklers are not turning on at all, i even went to the controller box and tried out multiple times, however they still do not turn on, however I found out that one of the valves are leaking, could this be the reason as to why they won't turn on? the ones in the back yard turn on just fine, and they have a different set of valves which do not leak, thanks
Hi and thanks for watching. Are you able to turn your sprinkler valves on manually?
@@ToddsGarage yeah todd, thanks for replying, I actually replace the valves, and now the sprinklers are working just fine, thanks :)
@@aaronbaraiya3692 Hi Aaron, that's awesome to hear you got your sprinklers working! Thanks again for watching!
@@ToddsGarage no problem
can you please post the details of the pgv diaphragm? thanks
Hi, thanks for watching. I will add it to my list of videos to make.
@@ToddsGarage I think they were referring to the details like the part number, or a link to the item on Amazon.
Will a bad diaphragm cause the box to fill up with water ?
Hi David, thanks for watching. It could be a lot of different things unfortunately and hard to know without being there to see it. Sorry I can't be of more help and hope you get it fixed.
Now to fix that hole in the wall. 😆
