I saw Aiofe in Savannah, met her and she signed a CD I bought. Such an unassuming person, not a diva and doesn't seem to seek celebrity. She played the next night with the Punch Brothers and was flawless in both performances. A treasure that deserves recognition, if not fame.
I'll be down in Savannah next month for the Festival and have tickeets to see her with a Celtic stringed quartet (Martin Hayes). Hopefully Paul Kowert and Brittany Haas stick around from the prior day's show (or vice versa as Aiofe you're more than welcome to sit in with Hawktail). Such is life and beautiful music.
I got to see Aoife last night in VA and we had a sing along to this song. The venue was actually in someone's back yard under a tent and it was raining cats and dogs. Her voice was so clear and strong though. She is very inspiring and I was riding a feel good wave. Too bad about the crash back to my mundane reality today but that's life. I hope to see her again some day.
I just found her by chance on UA-cam Music and haven't been able to stop listening to her since! Would love to see her do a show! How refreshing to hear some quality music in a sea of such aggressive non - musical sounds coming out the radio /phone today! She's MY hero!! Bravo!
Just watched her in transatlantic sessions on wcmu tv. She sang it softer on the tv session. this is still my favorite song. And she is the best to sing it so far.
Aoife, I've listened to this song at least 20 times in the last few years... it's a crazy sexy video... your lyrics & voice, your expressions, that dress, those boots. You are amazing.
Discovered Aofie while listening to Sarah Jarosz. Love the both of them. Please do yourself a favor and listen to their duet in the Aspens. Song is called Some Tyrant. Gives me much hope as to the future of music.
The song is absolutely beautiful - crafted and arranged perfectly. And the fills and solo are simple but blustery and elegant. Ahhhhh
Saw her on PBS last weekend and was smitten. Her performance of "Oh Mama" was mesmerizing!

Fantastic version of this song. Hearing it without the slide guitar makes me realize how much the slide adds to the songs on the album.
I discovered her on the Goat Rodeo video, Here and Heaven. Her voice is so clear & sweet.

A voice that will go right threw you and meet parts you never knew existed. Bravo.
The day I first heard Aoife was a great day indeed.
You are the best! Aoife, thank you for making the world a much better place!.
This Soul Touching Music = Soul Music! Thank You for Sharing your Soul with The World!
Saw her last night here in Detroit. What an amazing show. So much talent. And she's absolutely charming. Great stage presence.
Austin Nevins and the magical lime green Gretsch 💕
Very special song for all those remembering the love you got from your Mama.
Love Austin's green guitar.
It's a Gretsch. Thought it was a D'angelico
Beautiful lady, beautiful voice, beautiful guitar. What else can I say?
Oh Aiofe! Your song laid me down low
Just discovered Aoife on Woodsongs Old time radio (PBS). Totally Awesome!!!.
I got here by accident. Truly amazing. 👍💯😎
That Aiofe O'Donovan & Gretsch Annie are an unbeatable pair.
Fantastic voice and song.
Love this, just sublime
The live performance was over the top, enjoying the recording here - but nothing like live! Loved it!
She's from my hometown and went to my high school. Of course, I'm MUCH older.

I'll see you your duet and raise you a trio: add Sara Watkins--"Crossing Muddy Waters".
You got that right, excellent taste, an outstanding performance
My favorite song right now. I listen to it almost every day.
Some Tyrant, Kate Rusby was the original songwriter if I'm not mistaken. British folk singer.
If you like more bluegrassy stuff, check out Crooked Still. Like 5-6 albums, all great stuff. I love her voice so much!
Really wonderfull!!!
I hope you all around here have a wonderful weekend.

wonderful stuff. sure reminds me of shawn colvin circa her shotgun down the avalanche days
Oh mama indeed!
Quelle jolie voix douce.
🔥🔥🔥✌️❤️
How do I get this song out of my head?
Beautiful and you remind me of Susan Tedeschi ❤️🎶🎵😊🤗
is that a Martin guitar Aiofe is playing
Her voice reminds me so much of Edie Brickell. Very beautiful
+Tim McGurl Her voice reminds me of Nicole Nordeman (a very wonderful contemporary Christian artist).
@@ARSnyder63 I totally hear that. I have an album called "Sing Over Me" with Nicole on it. Hadn't made that connection on my own.
That shit moves me
I am in love with you.
Love Aoife.Has the personnel changed in the band.New guitarist(nice sound) and no drummer?
that Martin tho!
It's a current model if that's what you mean? It's an 00015M,( say "triple aught fifteen w/mahogany top"). About $1700 new.
You are awesome! Sell me your guitar?
I used to think Alison Krauss would never have an equal. I'm not so sure any more. I'm looking forward to seeing I'm With Her in February.
I saw them in February! Amazing. I can't get enough of them.
@@719cmk I'm With Her was fantastic.
I'll take a splash of some bourbon, please.
its Irish.pronounced 'eefa'
Many thanks. Kind of like Beef-uh. Or, Teef-uh. As in, "I hurt my teef-uh"
